This is the life!!

  • 5 of 5

Highly recommend! What a truly astonishing villa, totally outstanding . We came with our friends and had an absolute ball. Everything you could want, for us it was just perfect. We ate (and drank!) in every other night just so we could enjoy the night lit views, we all said "totally breathtaking" The swimming pool has to be the warmest pools we have ever had which was a plus because my husband actually spent most of the time in it with us rather that watching us despite the rain! It was a bit of a shame that we have a much sun as we would have liked but hey ho, still it didn't stop us from having really lovely time. Pool table was a fantastic touch as both us girls got to read our books in peace! We found two incredible restaurants "Volcano" in the town, certainly one of the best restaurants we have ever been to and a proper fish restaurant call "Frascitas " (may have spelt it wrong) Just sell fresh fish and cooked to perfection. Bars, we would recommend "The Kings" up stairs in the main street. Live music every evening and on one visit a full band outside. The boys also went a couple of time for the sports. Taxis really cheap! We would love to come again!

Lovely Villa but not what was expected

  • 2 of 5

The Villa is nice lovely views on one side towards harbour - the other side of the gate was not so attractive.

The Kitchen was not well equipped and very small with sliding doors that interfered with the operation of opening the fridge and using the cooker !!

We paid for the pool to be heated and the hot tub the pool felt cold even when floating temperature gage was stating 28 degree , a pool man did come out a few times however it still felt cold , maybe we were just wimps !!.

We had big problems with the electricity it kept tripping, we also had loads of water leaking in from the cooker hood as we had quite a lot of rain, the house managers got an electrician out as we felt concerned that it was not safe and the electric was tripping even more.

The Electrician said the fuse box was very hot and was using over 36 amps and we should turn off the hot tub or pool (great when we paid for it to be heated) !!

To cure the water from running down the chimney and running via cooker hood onto cooker induction rings - solution was to wrap a towel around chimney breast out side to stem the flow of water !! (Temporary I would have thought) with no later remedial work carried , so no able to use cooker for the last week or so before leaving.

The toilet in the ensuite stopped flushing on three occasions, it did get fixed each time but not what you would expect to happen three time's.

The Villa was very cold as the weather was not great but know allowances made for this a heater would have been nice.

Also very surprised the Villa was not clean during a three week stay!!!!! only the beds changed.

The dish washer had no salt or rinse aid in it from the time we arrived we do not feel this is something we should have to buy, should have allowances for it use..

Overall the Villa is nice but quite tired, lots of nice space.

The biggest worry for us was the electric and to leave us like that with small children it was a real concern.

We are not looking for any discount but just feel a little let down with some issues , including weather ( nobody controls this thou ) - power supply !! but that should not have impacted on our every day leisure & cooking evening meals . .

Owner's Response: Hi Neil, Thank you for your review although I have to say after everything we did for you a little surprised that you would try so hard to put the property down especially 12.30 at night in 2nd week of March when you stayed in January. We understand that you were desperately disappointed with the awful weather that everyone had. Fuerteventura has never experienced 4 weeks with the temperature dropping to as low as 9 degrees before and with the relentless torrential rain this was all over the news only explained as freak weather not seen in over 20 years. This caused water to get in through the cooker chimney ( you know that we couldn't do any more than we did as it was impossible to fill the edge with grout with the constant rain) The electricians came as a favour as they were all flat out with the weather causing problems. They explained to you very clearly, because of the cold weather the pool heater and Jacuzzi heater were running constantly to maintain 28 degrees in the pool and 36 degrees in the tub. The tripping occurred because on top of the heating there was the hot water heating the oven and hob all going at the same time which was just too much for any system. The Electrician said that just by turning off the Hot Tub during the evening whilst cooking would solve the problem as this doesn't lose heat, you said that you were not using the hot tub because of the weather so it didn't matter (we do not charge for the hot tub heating)and was still usable. The pool temperature was 28 degrees which is warm despite being so cold outside. Jane greeted you at the villa, makes everyone welcome and lets everyone know "If there is anything that you need please let us know" You called with reference the occasional tripping, we got someone out immediately! You called Jane to say the toilet button was stuck down they came immediately, you rang to say it had stuck again, they came and decided to replace the whole thing just to make sure it didn't happen again! If you had needed a heater or something that wasn't in the kitchen that you wanted you knew you only had to ask her as you had done, but you didn't? We are aware that most holiday makers were virtually unable to go out and we are sorry that the weather was so bad for your stay.

Beautiful villa

  • 5 of 5

This villa and it’s views are simply stunning. It’s beautiful and clean and very well equipped. It feels very light and airy and the whole villa is set out to give you a very modern Spanish feel.

The local area is still on the up and coming so as expected you have areas which are stunning next to rubble ready for building on. This doesn’t ruin the experience tho as it’s all part of the islands character. The local cab service is very cheap and super fast and needed as it’s a steep walk up from the town.

You have a supermarket and bars/restaurants half way down the hill only a 10 min walk away but again probably a cab back is best.

We had a few unfortunate issues when we stayed but Jane was on the case as soon as we rang her.

Nice house, but cold pool spoil it for us

  • 2 of 5

This is a nice enough house, but a very wide angle lens was used to take the photos, as the rooms and pool are nowhere near as large as they appear. Towels and linen are rather old and threadbare and the kitchen is small and not particularly well equipped.

The outside space is lovely, especially the main terrace, but the pool is very small. Everywhere you go in the house there are mean little messages telling you how much you will be charged for not sticking to whatever rule is their concern at the time. This doesn't create a very pleasant atmosphere.

The main thing that spoiled the week for us was the temperature of the pool. We were charged an extra £75 to have the pool heated, which we were told was necessary during the winter. If it really is necessary, why isn't it included in the rental for the week? The pool was cool and never reached the temperature that was promised in the details we were sent. We notified the local manager of this and the pool guy came to take a look. The heater thermometer apparently shows a temperature 3 degrees too low (how convenient!) but even by the pool guys measurements, the temperature never reached the level promised. The local agents confirmed that this was because the owners weren't willing to run the heater for long enough to keep the temperature up, which is why is was 2 or 3 degrees colder in the morning.

Otherwise a pleasant enough house, but I don't think "luxurious" is a word I would use about it.

Owner's Response: Hi Julian, Really? You were in the pool every time you called out the manager and pool man at out our expense. They pointed out the misunderstanding that we use the thermometer in the pool rather that the the heat pump gauge which shows up to 2/3 degrees less in the winter. 27 degrees (on pool heater) which is far higher than normal here and does not give you license to blackmail me for a refund. There is always one, never the less happy new year to you. Kind regards Noreen

Nearest Airport
7 Kilometres
Only a 10 minute journey and for approximately €12
Nearest Barpub
900 Metres
The nearest and another 5 minutes walk many.
Nearest Restaurant
1 Kilometres
One of several
Nearest Beach
1.5 Kilometres
Caleta Beach

We do recommend a Car, although not essential. A 5 minute walk will get you to the nearest bar as you walk down the hill and a little further to a choice of bars and restaurants on the mountain as well as supermarket etc.

The walk is straight downhill and into Caleta main town and will take you 20 minutes, easy walking down a little tougher going up but for less that €4 you can take a cab.

The location is second to none, 10 minutes from the airport and you can put your feet up in this luxury Villa.

Situated in middle of chip monk mountain with views that are just breathtaking, completely uninterrupted overlooking absolutely everything, mountains, golf course, sea, the harbour.....

Fuerteventura is the second largest Island of the Canary Islands and is very family orientated and without doubt the most relaxing island by far.
