Tranquil location, beautiful terrace and superb host
Located in the old town the ancient pebble road is steep and narrow, but it adds to the charm. I wouldn’t recommend a car because you can easily get around and a taxi to take you up hill if you don’t want to walk, readily available from the Plaza and the driving is erratic anyway so I’d personally avoid, this is a holiday to chill. The walk downhill is stunning, around 15 mins, we completed this easily with our children who are 10 and 12. The apartment is beautifully decorated and feels airy when you open the 3 sets of French doors, we loved it. The view is stunning. The electricity took a bit to get used to, but once you realised not to have everything on at once it was fine, the apartment was very well equipped too. There is a lot to do in San Remo you are spoiled for choice restaurant wise. it’s also a great base to visit Monoco which we did by train, or go further into Italy. I’d highly recommend that. The beeches are good and not too expensive to rent beds and a number have good chang8ng facilities and bars. If you really want to chill you could spend a day in the apartment and cook a nice meal, it is such a beautiful setting. The apartment also has a wood burning stove so I think for a couple or with friends it would be a lovely winter retreat too. I think 6 adults would be too crammed, but the apartment would definitely cater perfectly for 2 or 4 adults or a family of 5. Our keyholder Alex was the most wonderful charming man, he really couldn’t do enough for us, whether it was recommendations or sorting out a doctor when my husband became briefly unwell. He responded promptly to any enquiries we had and made sure we felt completely at home. If you crave stunning views, privacy and old world charm this is prefect location for you - I nearly forgot the hot tub, my children loved it!
