Holly Tree Cottage sits on former croft land in an exclusive location on the banks of the river Coe. At the fringes of Glencoe village, and just a short distance from the monument to the 1692 infamous Massacre of Glencoe, the views to the Glencoe mountains are simply quite stunning.
One of three at Riverbank Holiday Cottages, this modern home provides excellent accommodation for up to 6 guests. The property was completely refurbished in spring 2017.
A feature porch and hallway lead to the open plan lounge/dining and kitchen area. With huge corner sofa to spread out on you have a choice of watching the wall mounted TV, or the Glencoe mountains visible through the large patio doors. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your self catering needs. A breakfast bar can seat two, while the full family can gather around the adjacent dining table.
There are three bedrooms, each with its own en suite shower and toilet facilities, and one with bath as well. The standard layout is one double and two twins, though by request, we can offer the property with two doubles and one twin bedded room should this be preferred.
A separate laundry room ensures that there is plenty of space for boots and to hang coats, and there is also a washing machine and dryer.
Outside there is ample parking for 2 cars directly adjacent to the entrance of the cottage. To the rear there is access through an informal planted terrace to the secluded banks of the river. It's a wonderful spot to take a picnic for all the family or simply to pop down with a beer or a mug of tea and watch the wildlife. To the front the open field provides a foreground to the unrivaled views of the lower glen.
The cottage is a short distance from Glencoe village where you'll find a shop and the Folk Museum, plus access to a variety of gentle walks to the foreshore of Loch Leven, through the woods to Glencoe Lochan, or along the old village road towards a pie and a pint at Clachaig Inn.
