Cottage with character
Lovely to be met by the owner on arrival. The cottage is maintained to a very high standard and contains all the necessities needed for a stay. This is one of the few properties we’ve stayed in that had personal touches from the owner which all added to the quality of the property. The cottage is set in a gorgeous village and surrounding area and we had fun exploring during the day and then relaxing in the evening on the front porch watching the world go by. Highly recommended!

Charming cottage in a fantastic location
My wife and I stayed here for four nights. This was the fourth and last place we stayed in over a two week trip to Canada and it was by far the best property. Penny was a great host and everything went smoothly from start to finish. The cottage is in an ideal location and is full of charm. Booking accommodation can be hit or miss but Penny's place did not disappoint - it was well furnished and immaculate. Air conditioning was very welcome during a heatwave and there was a well equipped kitchen. Penny met us for check in and was kind enough to allow us a late check out on our final day - this was very much appreciated. Niagara on the lake is an amazing town and this was without doubt the highlight of our two week trip to Canada. We would have no hesitation in booking Penny's cottage again.

wonderful place, wished we had stayed longer
Shaw cottage is a wonderful place to stay in Niagra on the lake, my only regret it that we didn't stay longer. Situated very close to the lake and in the other direction the main street, it is perfectly located for those wishing to explore this wonderful place. The cottage had all the charm that it exudes in the pictures, and everything that the traveller should require and more. Penny was so helpful on arrival (although we were a few minutes late as our crazy sat nav took us every where but the cottage!), taking us on a tour of the cottage and explaining everything we might need to know, about the cottage and the area and telling us to ring her should we need anything. We had a wonderful couple of nights and are planning on returning to the area to explore some more and will definitely be staying at Shaw cottage again.

Beautiful Cottage, Perfect Location!
We loved everything about this property. It was our first visit to Canada and the communication with Penny was excellent. She met us when we arrived and showed us round. The house itself is beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, sitting in the back garden, the comfiest bed in the world and the cottage had everything we needed to cook for a couple of our nights there. The location is perfect. Its a very short walk to the beautiful town with restaurants and an even shorter walk to the lake. We didn't have a car but we were able to get the shuttle bus from Fort George to the Floral Clock and from there a bus to Niagara Falls. All in all a beautiful cottage with a fabulous location and we'd love to come back one day.
