We were so comfortable here!
Five of us stayed at this house for a week. The house was clean and had lots of space. The owner was so friendly and helpful. We cooked 5 meals during the week. The refrigerator and stove were great for us.
The house is above the valley and the view, from the back porch, is very pretty.
The 3 bathrooms were newly redone and were good-sized, clean, and modern. Two fellows in our group had worked in Italy during 2 previous trips this year. Both said this was their favorite Italy trip because they liked being at the house.
There was also space for parking. We had two smaller-type cars. There is a train station nearby the house, called Zaragoza. We did not end up trying it. When we went into Rome, we drove to the Santa Maria del Soccorso metro station . This station was much farther away, but the two members of our group who had come to Rome twice earlier this year were accustomed to using Santa Maria del Soccorso metro station, so we continued driving to this station.
This house is fairly near the city of Tivoli (to see Hadrian's [Adrian's] Villa and Villa d' Este. It was so convenient to drive to Tivoli. These sites are on author/traveler Rick Steve's 'list' of places to see near Rome.
Another day we drove to the towns of Castel Gandolfo (Lake Albano) and Frascati for a day outing. The home owner also said the town of Ariccia, near these two other towns, is nice.
There is a neighborhood plaza about 1 block down from the house that has places for gelato and pizza and sandwiches. We walked down to this square several nights. People were out late in the small square. We also drove, about one-half hour up the mountain to Restaurant Le Cannucceta. The prices were good and the view was great. There were lots of people and there was lots of room. The food was good. Ask about the dessert item on the menu that is a 'pizza' with chocolate and Ricotta cheese. We learned about the restaurant and the dessert from the home owner.
There is also a grocery market and a gas station about 5 minutes driving distance from the house.
My brother and his work colleague said if they come back to this area in Italy, for work again, they definitely want to stay at this house. We are so glad we found it! Thank you to home owner Alba!
