Hi June

We ran out of time to complete your visitor book in the apartment, however to advise you that we were delighted with the apartment with it's size and condition, Pat met us at the bus stop and gave us all the relative information of the apartment with a welcome pack including wine which was a nice touch

We did not have any concerns while at your apartment and we had a great holiday

Thank you

The Cairns family from East Lothian (just outside Edinburgh)

Excellent location, well appointed accommodation, very clean and tidy.

Most worthy of mention are the excellent welcoming arrangements, particularly from Pat.

The proximity of a variety of good restaurants, supermarkets and of course the beach makes this apartment a excellent choice for a holiday in Nice.

Location, Location, Location!

  • 5 of 5

This property will not disappoint. We arrived at Nice airport and contacted owner June's property manager Pat. Pat greeted us outside the building and gave a condo tour, explained the ins and outs - one of the outs lands you directly on the Promenade des Anglais! The property itself surpassed our expectations. The bed linens are of high quality, lots of space, comfort and kitchen essentials to start your stay.

Pat had even supplied a lovely bottle of wine, baguette and blue cheese which we gratefully enjoyed on the balcony after our first evening stroll.

We were within walking distance of old town Nice, flower market, many lovely sites and most importantly the sparkling waters and beaches of Nice. The Cote d'Azur bus line is nearby and we took this to Antibes one day and Menton another. At a cost of 1.5 Euros per trip this is a bargain and you travel along the coastline!

Do not hesitate to book this accommodation. We were 2 senior women but 2 couples would be very comfortable here.

Special thanks to Pat for her help on our departure day. She led us to the bus stop for Nice airport, determined there was no bus service this day and ensured we got a taxi with prearranged price!

All in all this rental was a wonderful experience from prompt responses to my many questions of June to the personal touches in Nice by Pat. We would love to return.

Best regards to both June and Pat,

super appartement

Quiet and relaxing vacation.

Great location, well equipped kitchen and no street noise. The balconies are comfortable but the views are not great. The air conditioning was easy to control and made no noise at all. The metal shutters closed out all of the outside light. You can sleep comfortably forever!

Fantastic Location

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect location for an apartment in Nice, a modern bright, comfortable and beautifully appointed apartment securely tucked behind a 1930s facade. A haven of peace and quiet right on the promenade.

Everything ran very smoothly, from our first contact with June the owner, to being met at the bus stop by Pat, Junes local representative. Pat showed us to the apartment, explained the lift codes and had even done a light shop for us, so no trek to the shops before opening that first glass of Rose!

One entrance to the apartment block is on the Rue de Francis the other is straight out onto the Promenade de Anglais. However the apartment itself is tucked away between two courtyards.

The main balcony was a sun trap in the afternoon, with a selection of comfortable seating, it might not be the best view in nice but it was incredibly quiet. The smaller balcony had lovely views over the gardens and again just as quiet. A lovely place to sit with your morning cup of tea or coffee.

The beds were very comfortable and the linen and towels were 5 star quality, the apartment was immaculate.

Nice is a fantastic place to visit we ate at a few restaurants two stand out Hangout in Rue du Moulin in the old town and Voyageur Nissart in Rue Alsace Lorraine a short walk from the apartment near the station we reviewed both on Trip Adviser we were so impressed.

The highlight of our trip was a day at the Rolex Masters in Monte Carlo, for the duration of the tournament the train stops by the country club - so easy.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment, it was family friendly as well as being perfect for two couples, which was our configuration.

I am a big fan of renting apartments rather than staying in hotels and this place is now top of my list of places to return to. It was a privilege to stay in what is obviously a much loved and cared for holiday home.

Great apartment in the perfect location in Nice

  • 5 of 5

My brother and I are frequent visitors to Nice and this was the third time we have rented an apartment at the Palais de la Med, with its direct access to both the Promenade des Anglais and Rue de France. This year was our first stay at June Freeman's apartment and everything went perfectly, from our initial contact to make the booking, through to our departure after a very pleasant fortnight. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by Pat, who had very kindly put some "essentials" for us in the fridge - a wonderful start to the holiday. There is also a very good approach where clients are invited to "muck in" by topping up a few basics for the next person, so that no one ever arrives to find the cupboards totally bare. The flat looks over the central quadrangle, rather than the street, making it a peaceful oasis in what is a bustling part of Nice. Both bedrooms have lovely balconies, as do the lounge and kitchen, making it very easy to dine al fresco when the weather is warm. We were there in November and were always cosy, thanks to a very efficient central heating system. The apartment is extremely well kitted out, nice furniture making it truly a home from home, and all manner of equipment to do some cordon bleu cooking - just bring your own chef! We split our dining about 50/50 between staying in and going to local restos. The location is ideal, to walk out to shops and restaurants in Rue de France, the Promenade, and is only a few minutes from the old town and Rue de Massena. On the entertainment front, the apartment had a huge selection of DVDs, ideal for anglophones, but as we are learning French, we preferred to take full advantage of the wide range of French tv channels. In short, we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this property.

Owner's Response: There are basic provisions in the cupboard, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, spices, dishwasher and washing tablets, foil and cling film, to name a few. All we ask is that if you finish an item, you replace it, if possible. This means future guests can enjoy the basics we take for granted at home and costs incurred by everyone are smaller than they would be than starting from scratch each time.
