Overview

About the property

Sea Fever is placed in the heart of Downalong and this St Ives holiday cottage will draw you back time after time. The reasons are clear from the photos (hopefully) but let us share some tantalising detail with you too. The bi-fold doors in the living room open fully to create an extension of the living area onto a sun-drenched balcony. The views from the kitchen, dining and living room are breath-taking over Smeatons Pier, the harbour beach and all along the St Ives bay coastline reaching as far as Gwithian Towans.

If having the amazing views from the living area isn’t enough, raise a sleepy head off the soft king size bed pillows on the top floor and drink in the refreshing sea views from dawn to dusk. The king size bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, TV and plenty of storage space. The bedroom is reached by an architecturally designed spiral staircase designed to be sturdy and attractive at the same time. The kitchen, dining and living area are on the first floor and the spiral staircase continues downwards to the twin bedroom (which can also be a king size bed if desired using the zip ‘n’ link bases) with its own en-suite shower room and TV.

A perfect solution to taking a hot shower when coming off the beach and storing surfboards, bodyboards, beach wear, buggies and prams, wetsuits, buckets and spades, beach breaks, dog towels and anything else which can live at ground level is the wet room and utility area of Sea Fever. In fact, it is a perfect first entrance too as it comes directly off street level via a sheltered walkway.

The cottage is set up to offer a perfectly relaxing self-catering holiday in St Ives. WiFi means you can stay in touch with friends and family plus catch up on any TV you may have missed while being on the beach all day!

A well-behaved dog is very welcome at Sea Fever, all we ask is that you let us know the age and breed of your dog (even their name so we can make friends with them too!). We also ask you travel with their crate and dog beds, throws and towels so they make themselves at home just as much as you.

Great holiday - great cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Sea Fever three times now and have enjoyed every one of our stays. The property is well maintained and in a great location. As we have been coming for a couple of years now we notice that the owners have made subtle changes for the benefit of the guests - recently we noticed Robert Welch cutlery. A small thing maybe but quality is important to us. The new corner sofa now provides even more comfort in which to watch the harbour view outside or watch TV. The zip link beds are also a great idea so more flexibility for guests when they visit.

Sea Fever is in, in our opinion, the best part of St Ives, namely the Downalong area. We love walking around the cobbled streets and looking at the beautiful houses nearby. And the beaches are literally a few steps away from the house.

Once again, thank you for a wonderful week

Excellent holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

The two of us had a fabulous stay at Sea Fever. The location is in the old part of town so central to everything : beaches, shops and restaurants.

The house has everything you could hope for. Smart, clean, well kitted out and luxurious.

We shall return soon

Sea Fever - lovely fishermens cottage

  • 5 of 5

Had a great holiday here. Chose St Ives as we had heard that the beaches were fabulous and the surrounding Cornish scenery beautiful. Neither disappointed.

The cottage though is beautiful. There are plenty of places to eat out but we decided to eat in half the time and eat in town the other half. The Portminster Cafe and Kitchen are great as is the Porthmeor Beach Cafe for breakfast.

The views from the cottage are the best we've ever had so based on this alone we would return

Can't recommend enough

Lovely property - certainly 5 star

  • 5 of 5

Weather was amazing!

Had a great holiday

we really enjoy our walks so didn't need to use the car all week. After a days walking it was a joy to get back to Sea Fever and make the most of relaxing on the balcony which has views towards Godrevy lighthouse. The house has everything you could possible wish for - lovely interiors and furnishings. Particularly like the port hole medicine cabinet in the top floor bathroom and the concrete staircase which is in itself a work of art.

Minutes walk to the beaches and galleries

Can't wait to return
