This converted barn is in immaculate condition and finished to a very high standard. It is situated on the edge of a small hamlet surrounded by mature trees and shrubs, with its own private road. There is a heated pool (seasonal) and barbecue area for alfresco dining. Set in over 1 acre of grounds. It has 1 king size and two double bed rooms. It has an open plan lounge with wood burner and is divided by an open oak partition to the kitchen with french doors leading to conservatory and dining area.

Lovely property Superbly Presented

Fantastic time had by all. Recently converted and well maintained the property had everything you need for a relaxing self catering break.The kids loved the pool in particular. Great location for walking, cycling and fishing within the local wooded areas. Owners very helpful and visited regularly to maintain the pool and gardens. Would not hesitate to return again in the future.

Nice house but difficult owners

We did enjoy our two weeks in this nice-looking house in a very quiet area, but it was really spoiled by several things:

* Compared to many other places we’ve rented, this one was not as well-equipped or serviced. The bedroom linen seemed tired and didn’t fit well, the kitchen tools/cutlery/crockery were sparse and old, light bulbs were blown or missing, various locks were broken or didn’t work well, the outdoor clothes line didn’t go up fully and there was no indoor clothes drying rack, the loo flush kept sticking, and so on.

* Although the listing here says “WiFi/internet”, it is actually a chargeable cash extra on arrival. We knew this in advance, but it still felt really cheeky and ought to be clearly mentioned here. The house may be out in the wilds and perhaps not everyone wants internet, but it's been included in the rent everywhere else we’ve stayed for 5+ years, including at much more remote places.

* More significantly, we had some major problems with the pool, which seemed cloudy when we arrived, went green twice whilst we were there, and was still murky when we left. This made us unsure about whether the pool was really being kept clean enough, and worried about health/hygiene. We lost four or five days’ swimming as a result.

* Most of all, the owners’ approach to us and these problems was much less friendly and welcoming than we’ve experienced anywhere else. For example, we rented for two weeks, which has normally meant that the place would be cleaned and fresh linen fitted in the middle weekend. Not so here, and when we asked for it, we were reluctantly provided with a bag of replacement but old and ill-fitting linen that wasn’t even completely clean (we washed it again ourselves to prove it). As for the pool, although they tried to fix it, we never really received even an apology for these on-going problems which at one point the owners outrageously tried to blame on us! That really spoilt our holiday, and the owners completely ignored all our requests for subsequent discussion about this issue. Not even the courtesy of an email reply.

Far from feeling like valued guests, we ended up feeling as if we were inconveniencing the owners by staying in their house. It’s a pity, because it’s a great house that could be as nice as it like looks in the photos. It just needs much better servicing and HOSPITALITY from the local owners. My advice would be to look elsewhere first before renting here.

Beautiful house in a fantastic location

Beautiful barn conversion set in lovely grounds , perfect if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday , the barn is finished to a very high standard if you are looking for a reasonably priced top quality holiday then this is the place to go spotlessly clean would highly recommend

Fantastic property in a beautiful location.

This converted barn has the lot. Everything is done to such a high standard but still retains a homely feel. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is in the perfect position. This place is tranquil and all you can hear are the birds singing whilst sitting in the beautiful gardens. The kitchen has everything your require and feels like home rather than holiday accommodation. The owners are extremely helpful and cannot do enough to make your stay perfect. I can't recommend this property enough, it has all you require to make a perfect holiday!. Thank you Dawn and Richard for all your help and we will be contacting you very soon about another week in September.
