Cottage in Thornley Village, England - Renovated To A High Standard And Tastefully Furnished, The Emphasis Being On Comfort And Relaxation

Binks Cottage is a 4 star gold accommodation. The front door opens into a private walled garden with lawn and comfortable garden furniture and a bbq. There is private parking for two cars at the back of the cottage.

Children are very welcome and we can offer a cot, high-chair and toys; babysitting by arrangement. Outside dogs are welcome, there is a dog kennel for use by guests of the cottage and two horses can be stabled, by arrangement only. We are happy to show guests around the farm.

Perfect for visiting Beamish Museum & Durham City. The village is situated on the edge of the North Pennines, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we are ideally located for walking, pony trekking, fishing and golf.

A lovely, homely cottage set in a quiet, idyllic Village, a mile from Tow Law. Couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome from Amanda and everything was provided for a very comfortable stay. Wish we could gave stayed longer..

A beautifully kept and well appointed holiday cottage.

This is a super holiday rental for those wanting to explore the North Pennines and/or northern cities such as Durham and Newcastle, which are within easy reach by car. We were extremely well provided for upon arrival and had everything we needed for our baby - cot, blankets, bath tub - as well as thoughtful extras for ourselves. Would highly recommend.

Lovely, homely, relaxing - have run out of adjectives!

Great accommodation in quiet village/hamlet just outside Tow Law. Two large size bedrooms, modern equip shower-room, lovely kitchen, homely lounge, nicely kept garden with seating and bbq. Great owner. Highly recommend.

About Amanda Simpson

I have lived in the village next to the cottage for 20 years and work on the farm. The cottage was converted 14 years ago.

Why Amanda Simpson chose Wolsingham

The property was converted in 2004, it had originally been a cottage, but not used for many years. It sits overlooking the village green and Church,it is very quiet location, ideal for guests wishing to sit in the garden and read a book.

The cottage is in a no through road village.

What makes this cottage unique

Binks Cottage is situated on a working farm, Thornley Hall Farm, there is also a hill farm 17 miles away, Glenwhelt. We encourage our guests to visit the farm and walk the public footpaths in the area where you will be able to see dry stonewalling, animals in fields and wildlife.

We welcome the opportunity to show you around Thornley Hall farm and Glenwhelt, if you are interested please ask.

Local shops can be found in Tow Law, 1 mile and Wolsingham, 3 miles. Larger supermarkets are 15 minutes drive away. Barnard Castle,with the world famous Bowes museum, High Force waterfall, Raby Castle, Hexham and Beamish Open Air museum are less than 30 minutes drive. Slightly further afield is the beautiful coastline of Northumbria, the Lake District, Kielder Water, Yorkshire Dales and Hadrian's Wall.

This is a non-smoking cottage, outside dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, kennel provided.

At Binks Cottage we try to reduce the impact on the environment and we encourage our guests to support our commitment. We have tried, where possible to give consideration to a wide range of environmental factors; we encourage our guests to try our friendly local shops and restaurants.

Wolsingham & Tow Law can provide butchers; gift shops; coffee shop; bank etc. There are also several farm shops locally and Stanhope Farmers Market is on the last Saturday of every month providing farm fresh eggs, preserves and pickles, locally reared lamb, and beef, sausages, bacon, black pudding, home baked cakes, bread and pastries, fruit pies, local cheeses, organic vegetables, home made soup, hand made sweets, game, fish, garden plants, Dalestone Crafts and lots more genuine local produce.

We are happy to show our guests around the farm, by arrangement.
