Villa in Yaiza, Lanzarote, Canary Islands - Peaceful Location Set in a quaint old Village of Uga.

VILLA ROMA NOW HAS A HOT TUB, AND POOL TABLE.

Located at the southern entrance to the valley of La Geria is the small, fertile wine village of Uga. With low, white houses, palm trees and other greenery, it has an appealing, almost North African charm. The highest building of this village is its rather modern church with an open belfry.

Villa Roma is a tastefully equipped villa and is set in a quiet cul de sac and is beautifully finished to a very high standard. It has a private pool with hot tub, terraces with mountain views and a BBQ area. A delightful and modern villa consisting of 4 spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (walk in shower rooms) and will accommodate 8 people comfortably.

The villa itself is modern, tastefully designed and is light and spacious and would be ideal for families and friends looking for a relaxing and quality holiday. The lounge area is comfortable and inviting with a flat screen TV with full sky sports, movies and entertainment channels , .

FREE WIFI,CD player and DVD. The villa has a fully equipped modern style kitchen with a utility and drying area. Relax and enjoy the private south facing sun terraces and later dine on the terrace and enjoy that "alfresco" dining experience.

Uga’s North African aspect is accentuated by the many camels, which can often be seen walking along the path through the lava fields to the Camel Park. Dromedaries are bred here and are used for carrying tourists around the outer reaches of the Timanfaya National Park and for safari tours in other places of the island.

A perfect stay

Thank you for an amazing stay at villa Roma in Uga. The villa is great and has everything, plus more, than we had expected. First impression on arrival, very clean and welcoming. With one 16 and 11 years old children you can't go wrong with a heated pool, hot tub, pool table and Internet access! We enjoyed a fabulous Tapas meal at one local restaurant (Bodega de Uga) and made many visits to the local shop and friendly cafe next door. You will need a car, however beautiful beaches such as playa de Papagayo, camel rides and plenty of places to eat are not far apart.

Great Location and a Very Comfortable House

Uga proved to be a great place to stay - typically Spanish, quiet (no Hotels), but with a few restaurants and a bar plus a well-stocked shop. House big and comfortable, good pool, with lots of outdoor furniture on a large patio. All very clean and well equipped (comfy beds with great pillows!). Particularly liked the easy access from the airport and to Papagaya Beach (also Playa Planca for its shops and eateries), and Timanfaya National Park - by car. Great roads for cycling, and a few good walks nearby. Negatives - can't really think of any, although own transport needed. A great alternative to the noise and crowding of Puerto Carmen and the other east coast resorts

We truly enjoyed our stay at Uga. The house is very well located in a quite village. Restaurant and grocery stores are within walking distance. The house has a lot of space and is very well maintained. Great place to stay!

Special interest holidays:

The villa is very well located for those that wish to be more active and walk, cycle or ride into the surrounding hills.

The Villa sits on the border of a national park which stretches South and East down to the coast. This has many marked trails providing both coastal and ridge walks. Maps and guidebooks are provided in the apartments.

Diving is an increasingly popular activity on Lanzarote. The owners, one of whom is a diving instructor, can provide advice and guidance on the best dive schools and dive sites.

Coast/Beach:

Puerto Calero Marina is 15 minutes drive. Puerto del Carmen beaches 15 minutes drive, bus, taxi or water taxi. Playa Blanca beaches 10 minutes drive. Famara surf beach 25 minute drive.

Travel:

Arrecife Airport is 15km away (15 minutes drive.) if you wish to make the most of your visit to Lanzarote it is well worth hiring a car and visiting some of the dramatic landscapes of the north or some of the beautifully un-spoilt beaches located across the island. There is a taxi rank in Yaiza village.

Distances:

Puerto del Carmen 15 minutes drive.

Puerto Calero 10 minutes drive

Playa Quemada 10 minutes drive.

Timanfaya National Park 10 minutes.

Arrecife 20 minutes.

Playa Blanca 10 minutes.

Teguise 30 minutes

Further Details:

Lanzarote has a diverse selection of activities from wind sailing, surfing, Quad biking across the rugged landscape or hiring out road bikes to explore both ends of the island.

The village is 3 minutes walk from your villa and has a selection of restaurants and tapas bars to suit all tastes and budgets . There is a supermarket within walking distance. From Yaiza one can take the breath taking mountain road leading to playa blanca through las casita de femes to some of the most beautiful beaches on the island called papagayo. Alternatively you could head into El golfo, again a fantastic and most spectacular route through the lava fields and rugged landscape.

Heading West along the coastal path takes you to Playa Quemada, home to the best fish restaurant on the island. For keen cyclists, the Ironman Triathlon cycle route goes through Calero, It is also a short run from Puerto del Carmen where both the swim and the run sections of the race take place. For shopping, Carmen has the Bioshpere Centre where most brands can be found. Carmen also has amazing beaches and hundreds of bars and restaurants. The villa is also only 10 minutes from the Timanfaya National Park where the power of the volcano can be seen first-hand.

Further North of the island heading towards Orzola you can take a 30 minute boat ride to the beautiful island of graziosa where again you can enjoy some of its secluded beaches, hire out a tent or just spend the day at the beach near the harbour where again there are some lovely tapas bars and restaurants to enjoy.

  • Outside: The villa benefits from a large outside space and terrace area . there is a BBQ, plenty of tables and chairs, deck chairs to enjoy all around the large swimming area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, beach towels and linen included and will be changed weekly if the duration of stay is over 10 days or more with a mid clean included. Other: the basement has been converted into a games room with a semi open planned bedroom with 2 single beds.
