About the Owner

I know how important it is to find a perfect venue for a holiday, which is why I bought The Bolt Hole Holiday Cottage a few years ago. It has been very successful over the last few years with great reviews left by the people who stay. I have made sure that it has everything you need for a comfy stay - it is pet friendly and I don't mind doing changeovers during the week. I work hard at giving a good service in the hope that people will come back and stay again.

Clean and cosy

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was very clean and well maintained. The weather was a little cool but we were warm and cosy inside. The furnishings were comfortable and the cottage was plenty large enough for the two of us. A good place to get away from it all.

Lovely cottage, lovely location

  • 5 of 5

Really lovely cottage tucked away in a very rural location.

Very comfortable, clean and well furnished.

30 paces exactly to a lovely old pub that serves traditional home-cooked food.

No traffic noise apart from the occaisonal farm vehicle and the evening movement of a small herd of cows along the roadway.

In May, the wild hedgerow flowers in the area are absolutely beautiful.

Delightful

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely little cottage. My partner, our dog and I thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at The Bolt Hole. This cottage is great for any who like to take their dog on holiday with them, it has a small garden to let them out in and even a water bowl was provided. The rooms were all clean and tidy and the bed was comfy. Even if the weather isn't great there is no need to worry as the nearest pub is 10 paces from your front door. Helen was friendly and helpful through out the booking process, and we would definitely stay here again!

Lovely cottage. Warm, comfortable and practical.

  • 5 of 5

The description of the cottage was accurate and it was clean and well maintained. The layout was well thought out and practical and it was beautifully warm and comfortable. There is a little enclosed garden at the back - great if you have brought your dogs. The owner kindly got it ready for me with very little notice and I felt it was good value. I would certainly recommend it.

Location

From the Owner

The Bolt Hole Holiday Cottage is situated very close to Dartmoor. I have lived in the area for many years and there is nothing better than the fresh, open moorland for long walks, or even just to sit and watch. The cottage is close to the small town of Chagford where you will find some small shops, eating places and outside swimming pool. It is also close to other towns, Castle Drogo, Gidleigh Park and a short drive from the coast. The area has much to offer for young and old - an area to be explored and enjoy.

Facilities

From the Owner

The cottage is located not far from the A30 - the main link to Cornwall, so access is easy and straightforward. The Bolt Hole has two bedrooms, where you have the choice of two single beds or one super king size bed in each room. The underfloor heating will keep you warm during the colder months, but in the better weather there is a private back garden for you to enjoy the sun and relax. The cottage is also pet friendly - any more than two dogs please contact me! I do not have a fixed changeover day - I am happy to do this any day of the week as I know some people do not like travelling at weekends - this also enables me to cater for shorter breaks (not less than 2 nights).
