About the property

2 bed, 2 bath flat with stunning views, set in 4 acres of grounds

Our changeover days are either Thursday or Saturday so please enquire with us directly for availability for short breaks or longer stays. We are flexible in the off season.

A spacious first floor apartment with a master bedroom with en-suite (including whirlpool bath) and a second bedroom with a double bed. There is a separate shower room which includes washing and drying machines, toilet and basin. The lounge is spacious with fabulous views towards Thurlestone Sands, Thurlestone Rock and rolling countryside at the rear. There is a dining area with room to seat 6. The apartment building is set within around 4 acres of grounds, and includes dedicated car park.

Thurlestone is a pretty village with thatched homes, and village church. The flat is 5 minutes walk from the local pub, and also Thurlestone Village Store and Post Office. Four excellent beaches are all within walking distance.

It is great for dog walkers, with direct access to South West Coastal footpath and local dog friendly beaches.

The flat is located only 8 miles from Salcombe and 4 miles from Kingsbridge.

About Christopher Osborne

My wife, Sharon and I, have been holidaying in Thurlestone for the last 5 years or so. In the last 2 and half years we have been lucky enough to share this amazing location with our energetic daughter who absolutely loves visiting the local beaches.

Our flat is great for couples and families with children of all ages. We have accommodated the needs of families by providing a travel cot, high chair, monitors and toys based on our own experiences of renting holiday homes and have tried to think of everything to make life easier and enjoyable for you!

The most relaxing location we have ever stayed in. Amazing views and great location. Fantastic for couples and families, golfers, bird watchers, walkers (we are literally on the door step of South West Coast path), surfers, paddleboarders, fisherman, or for those that purely wish to relax and take in the views.

Very comfortable for 2 retired couples.

2 double bedrooms, maybe not super king bed size, but so comfy we all slept so well.

Lashings of hot water, CH, 2 loos, and everything else worked so well!

Locals have a system for locking or just shutting the outer & inner hall doors, which we were happy to observe, as we were on the first floor. The views from here were just amazing even when the weather was “murky”, so that you could see what was coming in next from the South.

Loads of parking.

We loved the privacy of being up a long drive which afforded accessibility with peace & quiet.

Great apartment in a beautiful location

We spent a week here and really enjoyed our holiday. The apartment is really spacious and well equipped, with fantastic views from the lounge window.

Walking distance to Bantham and Thurlestone all downhill on the way out but steep hills on the return which was good for burning all the calories consumed at the local pubs!

Amazing flat! Spacious, homely, quiet, clean, very well equipt with amazing views of the sea.

We have stayed in many rentals over the last few years and all based in and around Thurlestone. This was definitely our favourite. The photos don't do it justice and to be honest they are pretty good! The panoramic sea views really are spectacular from the sitting/dining room/kitchen and even the two bedrooms have far reaching views of Thurlestone and rolling hills. The flat has everything you could ask for and is very well equipt. The hallway, kitchen and large utility/shower room have wooden or such like flooring which is very useful if you have children or a dog. The remaining rooms have lovely sumptuous carpet which makes if feel very homely. The other residents were very quiet and friendly.

There are many dog walks around the area and some straight from The Downs. Bantham beach is about 20 mins walk and has a dog friendly area over towards the estuary. Thurlestone is also dog friendly but not quite walkable with surf boards etc. Thurlestone village is under 5 mins walk across a small field. The Village Inn pub was lovely, great atmosphere, lovely food and dogs welcome! The village store is also well equipt but Kingsbridge is only 10 mins drive away which has a Morrisons and Tesco's.

On a couple of the less sunny afternoons we played tennis at Thurlestone golf club. They have several grass courts and a couple of all weather - you don't have to be a member. The golf course also looks pretty spectacular.

All in all fantastic flat, can't recommend it enough and brilliant holiday!

The apartment is walking distance to the Village Inn pub (excellent food and drink), and village shop/ post office plus Thurlestone Golf and tennis club.

The Downs is within walking distance to both Thurlestone Sands (overlooking Thurlestone Rock) and Bantham beaches. Bantham is a small village with amazing beach, and pub (The Sloop). The beach is wonderful and overlooks Burgh Island. You can hire surf boards and there is a gastro van in the car park. It has recently been voted by Lonely Planet as one of the top 10 beaches in Europe!

The apartment is around 5 miles from Kingsbridge and 8 miles from Salcombe.
