Delightful getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful time we had at this gorgeous cottage!

Our family had the most fabulous holiday, we enjoyed every moment of it and so did our little dog, bless him!

The cottage is situated on a very quiet lane, which was nice as we barely saw or heard any cars and having young children that was a safety bonus.

The cottage itself is tastefully decorated to a high standard and impeccably clean (which we love) and with all amenities and then some more! A perfectly placed bathroom downstairs which was excellent for washing the kids after our many sandy adventures at the numerous stunning local beaches... they are amazing!

The owner was really helpful and gave us some excellent pointers of where to go.

Cannot recommend this cottage highly enough!

Many Thanks again and looking forward to our next stay

What a Gem

  • 5 of 5

What a charming cottage to visit, for our first time in Pembrokeshire what a gem I’ve found, couldn’t have been more pleased with this lovely cottage, great location loved my evening walks with our dog Mr Mudge, out the front gate onto a peaceful lane and I’m in to the village of “Tish” my grandchildren (ages 3 & 5) loved it here! The cottage is thoughtfully laid out, very well equipped perfect for all the family. The children played safely in the fully enclosed garden they had a great time, we felt at No time did we need to check to see if their safe, the beaches were amazing we loved the bodyboarding with the occasional surf, we will be back …………

Greatly situated cottage

  • 3 of 5

Cottage was well situated, close to some lovely walks and beaches!

Unfortunately, it's on a main road and cars drive very fast past it :(.

It has only one bathroom, next to kitchen not ideal for kids at night!

Overall greatly situated, we felt it was overpriced for what we got!

Owner's Response: Very strange review. These guests were messaging me when they left asking if they could book again! The cottage is situated on a quiet country lane! 90% of the time the lane is empty. I was told that the ' child ' was 18 years old! It was only after I sent a text to this guest requesting if the rubbish had been put out, that this review has appeared! These guests had left three black outside bins full of rubbish without bin bags. Not nice at all for the guests that followed. The cottage is more equipped than your average cottage, newly decorated and of a high standard! I use it myself with 3 year old twins, all the time. I would say it is extremely child friendly and definitely not overpriced!

Fantastic stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had an incredible few days here. The cottage is spacious, comfortable, very well equipped and beautifully decorated. There is also a fantastic outside space to eat outside and enjoy the sunshine. The host was very helpful and communicative - she even gave us a great list of places to visit, eat at and explore which really helped us make the most of our trip. We had an unforgettable few days here and I can't recommend it enough. Hope to visit again soon!!

Location

Car: necessary

Coast/Beach:

Local beaches are about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the cottage or a 5 minute drive. There are too many beaches too describe ,each with it's own individual character offering many activities from crabbing for children, surfing, horse riding, fishing, rock pooling, razor clamming ( if you know how! ) and many more!

Travel:

Cardiff airport is approximately a 2 hour drive from Castle Cottage.

Use of a car is essential.

Distances:

St.Ishmaels village has a pub (The Brook Inn) which is a five minute walk . There is also a play area for children. The nearby village of Marloes has a cafe / bistro (The Clockhouse), a shop / post office selling fresh produce.

Skomer Island, a wildlife haven for rare birds and seals is accessible from nearby Martins Haven.

Things to do nearby include swimming, sailing, surfing, walking, cycling, seal / bird spotting, beach combing, diving, fishing, kayaking, climbing and horse riding.
