About the property

Cottage in Grewelthorpe, near Masham on edge of Yorkshire Dales, Yorkshire, England - Peaceful Location, short walk to Hackfall Woods Close to Ripon

Our lovely self catering cottage has been converted from period stables and is situated on the outskirts of Grewelthorpe which is in the Nidderdale “area of outstanding natural beauty”. With easy access to the many attractions that the area offers, we think this is the perfect place for a relaxing break. We have worked hard to make our cottage a super comfortable home from home, with high quality furnishings and attractive textiles to compliment the building. For heating and hot water we have installed a biomass boiler that ensures you can be toasty warm in the cold months with under floor heating whilst still being eco friendly. The water supply comes from our own well and doesn't contain any extra chemicals.

This property was outstanding. Exceptionally high quality furnishings and kitchenware. Bathrooms felt luxurious and bedrooms spacious yet cosy. We had a genuinely fabulous stay. Could not fault anything.

A real gem

This has to be the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. It is finished to a very high standard, has everything you could want and felt cosy and spacious at the same time! The bed was a delight to sleep on. Geoff made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble and Val's Victoria sponge was delicious. We appreciated the tea / coffee and milk in the fridge when we arrived. The nearest supermarket is 5 miles away in Ripon.

Road access was straightforward and its rural location meant there was no road noise and the stars looked beautiful at night. We were very sorry to leave.

Beautifully decorated and furnished and such thoughtful touches throughout. Can't recommend it enough and had the perfect weekend! Will definitely return 😀

Stunning place to stay!

Geoff and val were amazing, on arrival we had home made cake eggs from their chickens milk and prosecco! To top that off the cottage was beautiful, we had an amazing weekend away...I would highly recommend as it exceeded all my expectations. Cannot wait to stay again!

Lovely Place to Stay

We have just returned from a lovely holiday at The Stables. The cottage is beautifully furnished, cosy and peaceful a real gem.

The location is ideal for accessing the Dales, Fountains Abbey, Ripon, Harrogate, York, Durham etc. There are also lovely walks from the doorstep, would recommend the circular walk to Masham.

Geoff and Val are very welcoming. Would highly recommend and we would like to return for another stay.
