About the property

Well equipped Home from Home- Spacious rooms & several nearby wonderful beaches

Brambles is very much a family home. The house with its large rooms is extremely well equipped. There are two reception rooms both with TV and there is also a large kitchen-diner/garden room.. It is situated in a close of 5 similar houses set back from the road. The owners live on their narrow boat Petroc during the summer months. The location is peaceful and well away from the holiday traffic but still within a short distance of all amenities and 7 local beaches.

As well as the reception rooms and Kitchen/diner/Garden Room with utility area, there are 3 bedrooms (1 Kingsize, 1 Double, & 1 Twin) all with wash hand basins, Separate Bathroom, Shower and Toilet and a downstairs cloakroom.

The rear garden is fully enclosed. Well behaved dogs are very welcome at no extra charge

This is our own spacious and comfortable home which we have successfully let out for the past 11 years during the summer months whilst we live aboard our narrowboat Petroc cruising the UK canals and rivers. Brambles is now available all rear round as we now have a small attached annexe for our use during the winter months.

Why Gillian LOVEGROVE chose Saint Merryn

This area has much to offer with at least 7 local beaches within 2 miles, nearby Trevose Golf Club and wonderful walks.

Peacefully situated in a small close of 4 similar properties we are completely protected from all the hustle and bustle of the holiday trade, whilst being only one mile from St Merryn village with all the facilities you could need. Padstow is 3 miles away with more shops, good restaurants including Rick Stein's Seafood restaurant.

What makes this house unique

Brambles was originally our main home during the winter months but now we have a small annexe to one side of the property. However the majority of the contents are still in the main house. This means that it really is a 'Home from Home'. The garden to the main house is fully enclosed and separate from the annexe garden.

The annexe is not normally occupied during the summer months

The downstairs is extremely spacious and allows flexibility if two families are sharing.

The garden/dining area allows you to enjoy the garden even on the occasional rainy day.

We have stayed in Brambles Many times. We have stayed here for 3 weeks this year and do not want to leave. It will be difficult to find a house that offers everything Brambles does.

We love this house. It is our second stay in this lovely house and great location. So homely, comfortable and well equipped with a beautiful garden. The local area is perfect, fabulous scenery, great beaches and lots to do. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Very large, comfortable & homely house & garden

Brambles is a lovely large home from home with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

The various options for sitting and eating provided by the 3 separate living areas are great for larger parties, the beds are really comfortable and the garden is sunny and fully enclosed, which was great for our 3 dogs and us, particularly when the sun decided to make an appearance! The garden is also a haven for birds.

While the location means a short (5 minute) bike or car journey into St Merryn itself for shops and eating out, it benefits from complete peace and quiet, perfect for a chilled out break. The location is also perfect for accessing the various beaches around St Merryn. Constantine, Treyarnon, Porthcothan, Harlyn and Mawgan Porth are all dog friendly & perfect for dog walks along the shore. St Merryn itself is also very dog friendly.

Communication with the owners when booking and paying for our stay & arranging return of the security deposit was was very quick and hassle free.

We have stayed in 5 different holiday houses in St Merryn & Brambles is the only one we have re-visited so far. It provides great value for money and we would absolutely recommend it to other holiday makers wanting to stay in this area.

Lovely family home stay

A lovely house in a good location

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely house which felt like a real family home. The furnishing and decor of the house was individual and tasteful. The rooms were spacious and there was plenty of storageEverything we could possibly want had been provided. Our dogs loved the pretty rear garden which was safe and secluded. The position of the house was also great and being set back off the main road behind trees made it peaceful and quiet while being only a few minutes drive from Porthcothan beach which we love. I would definately recommend this property to anyone seeking somewhere to stay which has character and is in an ideal location for dog friendly beaches and close to Padstow and Wadebridge for shopping.

Great family friendly home

We had a great stay over new year at Brambles, the house is very large and comfortable with plenty of space for the kids to run around. The playroom was also an extra welcome addition. Lots of books, toys, games and DVDs meant that everyone was kept entertained. Also within a 2 minute drive of the closest village and 5 minutes of Padstow. We will definitely return in the future!

Cosy home from home perfect for our four dogs.

This year was our fourth visit to Brambles, which tells it all. The house is comfortable and very well equipped - it does not feel like a rental.

Our four dogs are safe and happy in the lovely garden and the location is perfect with just a short drive to the wonderful beaches and some great places to eat. We hope to return next year.

Fantastic property with everything you need for a

Brambles is perfectly situated in a quiet residential lane a few minutes drive from St Merryn. It's close to all the fabulous beaches in the area. The house is excellently equipped with everything you could need for a short or long stay in the area. When we first arrived we were immediately struck by how spotless every inch of the house was. We were lucky enough to spend a few weeks here and it really felt like a home from home. It was lovely to have a large garden for the children to play in as well as the opportunity to eat outside. There was a great selection of toys, books, dvds as well as some beach toys. The bedrooms were of a good size with comfortable beds and furniture throughout!

Communication with the owners was efficient, friendly and easy.

We can highly recommend staying in Brambles if you have the chance. We hope to stay again ourselves!
