Bungalow in St Merryn, Padstow, Cornwall, England - Quiet cul de sac location, close to St Merryn village centre

Selected weeks (outside of school holidays) for 2018 have now been released. Further weeks are likely to be released once our own holiday plans are finalised.

Fully refurbished in Spring 2015, this is a modern, fully equipped, dog friendly, comfortable three bed bungalow, in a quiet cul de sac location. Linen and towels for up to six people are included in the standard price, and all beds will be made up prior to your arrival. An open plan kitchen/dining area with bi fold doors extends onto a patio area and into a lawned garden. There are two bathrooms (one en suite), as well as a cloakroom (off the kitchen), and a wet room area in the garage. The wet room area allows sand to be washed off surfers and dogs before entering the house. We have installed a wood burner in the lounge for the colder nights. One small or medium sized, well behaved dog is permitted - extra charges apply. We have a seven day minimum stay at any time of the year, with a Saturday changeover. Free BT broadband wifi with unlimited usage is available throughout, with HD TVs in the lounge and kitchen. Plenty of parking is available. It is a short walk to the centre of St Merryn village and its many amenities, plus it's a short drive to the many fantastic beaches in this part of Cornwall

Bookings for each year can be made from 1 September of the previous year. For example, bookings for 2016 could have been made from 1 September 2015 onwards. We reserve several weeks for our own use, but those weeks may be released during the year once our own holiday plans become clearer.

Why Samantha Milner chose North Cornwall

We have visited this part of the north coast of Cornwall for more than 10 years, sometimes more than once a year. We love the variety of activities in the area (water sports, cycling, walking, visiting Padstow for an ice cream...). The cross roads at the centre of the village of St Merryn contains a surprisingly large range of facilities (corner shops, deli, a variety of restaurants and take aways, two pubs, surf shop, petrol station). The quality of the beaches nearby is fantastic (the area is known as '7 bays for 7 days'). Each of them has their own characteristics, catering for different interests, and age ranges. We particularly like coming here out of season, and of course our dog loves it whatever the time of year and whichever beach we go to

What makes this bungalow unique

We have stayed in many of the available rental properties in St Merryn, and have tried to create a property which takes the best of what we have seen in the holiday homes we have previously rented: open plan kitchen/dining area, which leads into the garden; a separate lounge with wood burner for the cooler nights; three comfortable bedrooms, and a separate utility area/wet room to shower off surfers, their wet suits (and their dog...). The bungalow is in a quiet cul de sac, but is only a short level walk to the centre of the village and a short drive to numerous beaches and the towns of Padstow/Newquay/Wadebridge

Outside: Garden is laid to lawn at the back of the property, with a small but sunny patio area leading off from the kitchen. Utility Room: Located towards the back of the garage: washing machine, tumble dryer, small wine/beer fridge and wet room area with enclosed shower. Separate side door. Cloakroom: Located off the kitchen area, with WC and wash basin. Bed linen and towels: Bed linen and towels for up to six people are included in the standard price for your stay. All beds will be made up prior to your arrival. Cleaning: The house will be fully cleaned on change over day. Minimum stay The property can only be booked for a minimum of 7 days Other: The third bedroom contains a zip and link bed and can therefore be configured as either two single beds or one 6ft double. Please confirm at time of booking how you would like the beds made up. The second bedroom has plenty of room for a travel cot.

Lovely, clean, modern bungalow perfect for my family in a good location

We had a great time at Springtide. It was comfortable and perfect for 6 of us and our 12 year old black Lab. Everything we needed was there and it was a pleasure to cook in the modern kitchen and eat alfresco with the bifolding doors open to the well kept garden. Home from home😊

Excellent property. Stayed there last year so this was a repeat visit.

Beautifully appointed property, very near a selection of beaches and with a good choice of restaurants within walking distance.

Only downside was the weather!! We had 2 nice days on the beach but otherwise variable.

Padstow was a disappointment compared to last year as for some reason the Park and Ride was not in operation.

St Merryn village centre

We are a few minutes walk from the 'crossroads', where you will find a petrol station, a grocery store, several restaurants and takeaways, a bakery, a pub and a surf shop. The Cornish Arms (owned by Rick Stein) is a short walk in the opposite direction

Padstow is about 10 minutes drive away, with a Tesco and a variety of shops, restaurants and of course the harbour area

Wadebridge, Newquay (nearest airport) and Bodmin (nearest train station) are close by

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is Harlyn Bay, a wonderful stretch of sand and home to the local surf school just over a mile away. Constantine Bay and Treyarnon are also close by with some fantastic walks, both coastal and inland. One of our favourite beaches is Tregirls/Hawkers Cove, just north of Padstow. Being within the Camel estuary, the waves are typically smaller and so it is particularly suited to families with smaller children

We only take bookings for a minimum of 7 nights, and changeover day is Saturday for all stays, irrespective of the time of year. Departure is by 10am and arrival after 4pm (although the latter can be flexible). One small or medium sized dog is welcome, at a cost of £25 per stay
