Overview

About the property

Fabulous townhouse in Vale do Lobo 5 min walk to the lovely beach, bars and restaurants. - Peaceful location, 5 minute walk to beach/swimming pools/restaurants/bars/reception/golf courses.

Casa Camarhilla is situated in the Aldeamento area of Vale Do Lobo. This is the oldest and most beautiful part of the resort made up of traditional white washed houses linked by narrow cobbled paths that lead to the beach. The entire resort is beautifully maintained. The plants and flowers, especially the Bougainvillea make the area a sea of colour. As it was the first part of the resort to be built it is therefore in the best location! It is a 5 minute walk down to the beautiful beach and swimming pools. This is also where you will find the Praca (resort square) with a great selection of 10 restaurants, bars and a night club all over looking the sea. It is also a 5 minute walk to the resort reception and golf courses. Here you will also find a small arcade of shops and Spikes restaurant and bar. Vale do Lobo supermarket is also walking distance so unless you need to leave the resort a car really isn't necessary.

The house consists of large sitting room with steps that lead down to a dining area with large table that comfortably seats 8 people. There's a small but fully equipped kitchen and 3 bedrooms all with twin beds that can be moved to create superkings if preferable for your stay. One of the bedrooms is located on the ground floor with a shower room. Upstairs there's the other bedrooms and a family bathroom. Outside there's a large ground floor terrace with table/chairs and a bbq. on the first floor there's a smaller terrace with table and chairs with sea view. From the first floor there are steps leading up to the roof terrace which has great sea views and is surrounded by beautiful pine trees.

We are also members of the Proprietors' Club which gives you free access to the two swimming pools by the beach which is only a 5 min walk from the house. Plus use of the resort circuit bus and a reduced rate at all restaurants/bars if paying in cash. You also get reduced rates at the Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy as well as the two superb golf courses the Royal Golf Course and the Ocean Golf Course.

We only bought the house in November last year and we are still in the process of updating parts of it. The main bathroom is being totally modernised and we are replacing all of the outside furniture hence the reason there aren't any photos of those areas yet! They will be on here by the 14th June.

About Rebeccca Braunholtz

We are a family with two young children. We live in Sherborne, Dorset. My husband has been going to Vale do Lobo annually for the last 15 years, and whilst we were on holiday there in 2008 he proposed!

Vale do Lobo has therefore always been a very special place for us. Last summer whilst there on holiday with our two children we decided to take the plunge and buy our own house.

Rebeccca Braunholtz purchased this house in 2014

Why Rebeccca Braunholtz chose Almancil area

We have always loved the older Aldeamento area of the resort, as they say it's all about the location and it doesn't get any better than this! Everything is within easy walking distance, which for us as a family is total bliss and was our main priority when we started looking for somewhere to buy. It had always been a dream to have our own place and having young children who LOVE it there the time was right. It has definitely been one of the best decisions we've ever made!

Perfect

We enjoyed a wonderful 6 night stay, the property was exactly as Becca had described, wonderfully clean and comfortable. The bonus with this property is the very generous Vale do Lobo membership cards, which allowed us to visit the Praca pool for each day of our visit. We loved the Terrace and the location, close to the beach, pool, bars, Club House and Mini Market, we would definitely return.

Great townhouse, perfect location. Well equipped.

Great few days in Val de Lobo. The house was great, would definitely rebook for next year. Only negative was that one of the upstairs bedrooms had no shutters and very poor curtains! All the other rooms had shutters. Also the doors leading out to patio don't have a proper key lock just a couple of little bolts so it felt a bit insecure. Other than that all was great!

Thank you, we will be back next year.

Great location , easy house

  • 5 of 5

The villa was in a great location, 5 minutes to the beach and pools. Good restaurants at the Praca. The house made the week very easy with everything that we needed. The travel cot they supplied had a proper cot bed mattress which makes such a difference. We had taken our own mattress but theirs was even better. BBQ was really good and generally we were really happy with our stay. The aircon in the bedrooms was a godsend as it was very hot throughout our stay.

Super property and location!

  • 5 of 5

Ideally situated in heart of Vale Do Lobo, Becca and Mike's home was spotlessly clean and well appointed. We were able to park just outside the villa leaving the car whilst we walked to the beach and golf club (5-10 minutes). The property benefits from having a lovely rooftop terrace with views of the sea where you can hear the sound of waves and catch the sun even on a late October afternoon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week - thank you Becca and Mike!

We spent a week in Vale Do Lobo during the October half term school holiday. We hired a car from the airport and were able to find Vale do Lobo very easily, it was about a 20 minuted drive from the airport which was very convenient.. The weather was warm during the days so we were able to sunbathe on the roof terrace or sit on the beach. The Atlantic sea was both warm and exhilarating with much fun spent in the choppy waves. It did rain during the evenings but every morning the pavements were dry and it was back to warm sunny days. The sky was blue and clear each day. The pool was closed as were some of the restaurants as its was the final week before the holiday season closed, but this said it had a great crazy golf course which proved to be a big hit. There was also enough to do nearby with go karting being a favourite, a visit to the nearby town and port being a must. The house was amazing, it had everything you needed including a freezer!! There was the use of a bar-b que, and everything you could possible need.

Mike and Becca have ensured that the house is well equipped. It has WIFI and an amazing apple TV. Their generous use of the members cards ensured a 10% discount in restaurants for paying cash.

The site is luxury and immaculate with a bank on site. It is child friendly and the staff are very accommodating. This has been one of the best holidays spent abroad and we would definitely return.

Location Location Location

Set in the heart of VDL this delightful, clean, well maintained holiday home we made our home for the holiday, we found it was placed just seven minutes walk down to the main resort, where there are many restaurants & bars. We enjoyed the Sandbanks restaurant, where many sodas followed by a club sandwich was eaten & such great hospitality! The sea can be seen and heard from the villa, & the beach and what the kids called the great pool were only 5 minutes walk. The two pools were family friendly, it was free to use due to the membership cards left out for our use by Mike & Becca (thank you). They were so friendly & accommodating, no request was too and the house was clean with good space double doors open up the lounge. We enjoyed the walk down through the old town to the beach, walkways with flower boarders full of colour . The walk to the golf course was that of a par five fairway, could not have been easier, location location.

The house had a great layout with seating areas in various parts of the house, you can find the sun at most times of the day, in one place or another. A large outside space at the rear of the house, great for breakfast, kids had space to play especially in the lounge and all downstairs .

The roof terrace space had views to the sea, we enjoyed drinks and listening to the sea while it also being a great sun trap, tranquil & relaxing watching the sun go down with a G&T or two.

The villa has all the mod cons we needed, washing machine, internet access, apple tv and items you could possible need but couldn't take in your suitcase! 3 large bedrooms with good mattresses, one double ensuite set downstairs, 2 doubles on the middle floor with twin beds & one of the rooms has a black out shutter on the window, fantastic for small children who wake far too early due to the sun, hopefully like us it will gain you an hour extra sleep.

Finally we were given membership cards by our hosts which gave us 10% off our bar bill when we paid cash and great discount on the golf course.

Contacting Mike and Becca was easy and they were very helpful and genuine.

I can recommend this place without question and will be staying here again next year. Thank you for a really enjoyable stay at your lovely holiday villa.
