Great Longstone - Walking distance to cosy cafes, country pubs and central to all the Peak District attractions

Thornbridge Lodge is a beautiful country cottage situated on the edge of the village of Great Longstone in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Ideally located just 2 miles north of the market town of Bakewell, 1 mile from the pretty picturesque village of Ashford in the Water and 10 minutes away from Chatsworth Estate. Its enviable position right next to the popular Monsal Trail allows you to enjoy the freedom of a car-less weekend if you choose. The trail runs from Bakewell to near Buxton making off road walking and cycling a pleasure on the converted former railway line with lovely cafes and country pubs en route. Its idyllic situation is perfect for families and is the ideal place for exploring, relaxing and enjoying many local attractions.

The beautifully presented cottage stands in the grounds of the Thornbridge Manor (also available to rent for larger groups) yet affords much privacy with its own entrance, parking enclosed garden and super patio for outdoor dining. This well equipped, stylish and comfortable 4 bedroom lodge (these are two attached dwellings but sold as one large property), offers spacious living with lots of character. This family friendly property sleeps a maximum of 8/10 people The property comprises:

•Dining/Kitchen, fully fitted and equipped to cater for groups with a dining area for 10 guests

•Lounge with high ceilings and cosy working log burning stove and flat screen TV

•ground floor family bathroom with bath and shower

•Two ground floor bedrooms

•One first floor bedroom with en suite shower, wc and basin

•Another en suite double bedroom (note this has external access)

•A sofa bed in the second sitting room of the smaller dwelling is available for an extra 2 guests if required

•Wifi

If you want to venture out to see the surrounding area Thornbridge Lodge is just a short walk to the pretty villages of Great Longstone, Little Longstone and the picture postcard village of Ashford in the Water all having not just one but a selection of heart-warmingly traditional pubs. This includes the locals favorite The Pack Horse in Little Longstone, The White Lion in Great Longstone, and the Monsal Head Hotel with the fabulous traditional Stable Bar and fantastic outside seating area looking north westerly down into Monsal Dale.

With lots of places to visit nearby including wandering around the magnificent Chatsworth House (10 minutes drive) and gardens to afternoon tea at Hassop Hall not to mention that Thornbridge Lodge is next to the Monsal Trail which leads directly to some of the finest walking The Peaks has to offer from right outside the door. Outdoor pursuits are also popular and we can recommend a multitude of activities.

These prices are a guideline only (we only state low season on this site) and we really encourage you to email with your group size and the type of event you are planning to enable us to send an up to date quote. We also have a range of properties on our peak venues website so if this one is not available we may be able to offer a great alternative.

Our weekend prices in the busy season are for a 3 night stays from 3pm Friday to 10am Monday. We offer a set weekend price to give you the added flexibility of being able to relax and enjoy the property until as late as you like on the Sunday, even if you don't actually stay overnight till Monday morning.

Shorter mid week stays of 1 or 2 nights can be negotiated by arrangement. Payment can be made by card or BACS transfer.

25% deposit due within 5 days of booking

Final balance due 10 weeks prior to arrival

If booking made within 10 weeks of arrival date, full balance due on booking

£200 refundable damage deposit
