Situated in a quiet area but beautifully appointed with everything necessary to hand

We were very lucky to have warm sunny weather throughout our stay. It meant that we could take advantage of outdoor activities in the surrounding area. The wildlife in particular interested us from the Dolphins at New Quay to the Ospreys in the Dyfi estuary

Lovely Quiet Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Were welcomed on arrival by Karen, which was lovely. The cottage is very modern and beautiful, was pleasantly surprised by how big all the rooms are. Very comfy bed, plenty of storage space in bedroom. Huge Kitchen has all you could want including washing machine and dishwasher. Lounge/Dining also has plenty of room with comfy sofas and lovely table and chairs to the side. Bathroom was great, lovely shower. The cottage is set in a very peaceful and quiet area with nothing to disturb you at all, fields and hills with sheep and lambs at the back and a pretty little brook to the side of the cottage. All was clean and well cared for and we'd love to come and stay again. Very many thanks Karen for the Bara Brith and Waffles, they were lovely and you were an excellent host!

We spent Christmas 2017 in this peaceful spacious cottage with lovely hillside views. It was well equipped for turning out our Christmas meal and having a restful comfortable holiday. The village is well placed for exploring a beautiful area, minutes from the sea. The owners made sure we felt very welcome and would be on hand if we needed anything.

Two miles to Borth beach, approximately 5 minutes by car.

Birmingham International airport has a direct train service to Borth and Aberystwyth stations with onward travel to Dôl-y-bont by taxi or bus.

We recommend a car in order to fully explore the surrounding area. There are car hire facilities in Aberystwyth or if you drive here set your satnav for SY245LX.

Aberystwyth, the local large town with all amenities, is 5 miles away, and Borth which has beaches, supermarket, pubs, and restaurants is 2 miles away.

Further Details:

Aberystwyth is one of Wales favourite seaside resorts. Its Victorian prom spans both north and south beaches, a marina at one end and a clifftop railway to the other. The town offers a wide range of visitor attractions, including the Vale of Rheidol steam railway which links Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge and its spectacular waterfalls.

More recently, the areas surrounding Aberystwyth have been home to the locations of the BBC Hinterland series.

Borth lies to the north of Aberystwyth. Its family friendly beaches lead onto Ynyslas and the Dyfi National Nature Reserve with its magnificent sand dunes. It offers a range of cafés, shops and pubs.

Machynlleth, the ancient capital of Wales is home to a weekly market and near to the Centre for Alternative Technology.

East of Aberystwyth, Bwlch Nant yr Arian is a Red Kite feeding centre with walking and mountain bike trails, and to the north, the Ynys-Hir RSPB nature reserve offers five miles of nature trails.
