Cottage in Crich, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire Dales, Derbyshire, England -great walks, Pubs, local shops And The Tramway Museum
Typical Derbyshire stone cottage with cosy lounge with low beamed ceiling and wood effect gas fire. Cupboards with games , local info and walking maps. No television. I believe this is a great place to make time for yourself, friends and family, a place to relax, a place for romance. There is Wifi, if you want to bring a laptop or tablet. The cottage has 2 generous double bedrooms, a dining kitchen and a recently renovated shower room. The kitchen opens to a good sized, fenced in, south facing back garden with patio (covered to provide shade in summer), lawn and flower beds.
It is located on the edge of Crich Village, near the stand and tramway museum. There are lots of public foot paths nearby.
Crich is only a 15minute drive of Matlock Bath with restaurants, (esp Fish and Chips), Tearooms, Musea, Gullivers Kingdom, the Heights of Abraham.
The peak district and historical sights like Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall, Keddleston Hall, Haddon Hall and many more are all less than 1 hour drive away.
There is information on lots of tourist attractions, local restaurants and walks available at the cottage. Even ordnance survey maps for the brave or experienced ones...

About the Owner
Annick, has always loved the Peak District and got this cottage to get away from a busy working life.
She would now like to share it with others and hopes you will enjoy it as much here as she does!!
4.4 based on 8 holidaymaker reviews
Lovely cottage, in a really beautiful part of the country. Pictures don't do the cottage justice - it is very comfortable, nicely decorated and has everything you could need. The village has some cute pubs that are only a short walk away. I would definitely stay again.
We stayed at the cottage for a short break at the end of July and it was lovely.
The cottage is clean and well equipped and importantly for us, dog friendly. All floor surfaces are very clean, no carpets to worry about and definitely no 'doggy' odours as with some dog friendly accommodation's. The back garden is large and fully enclosed although one side has a lower fence so if you have an 'agility' type dog he/she may be tempted to leap over and say hello to the neighbours little dog!
The bedrooms are large, there are 2 double beds and a sofa bed. Lovely new sofas, (throws provided to avoid getting them dirty) and hiking equipment that Annick kindly shares with guests.
The location of the cottage (in our opinion) is perfect, my son and his family visited us on one of the days and we spent a really enjoyable day at the Tram Museum which is, literally, just around the corner (a little expensive but worth it).
Lovely walks on the doorstep and the Waterfall at Lumsdale Valley is well worth a visit.
There is Internet at the cottage but no TV.
Will not hesitate to return.
Beautiful quaint little Cottage in lovely Crich Village
This cottage is ideal for people with pets. Our two westies Daisy and Harvey loved the garden, which is all enclosed and dog safe. The cottage itself is well equipped and comfy, the ideal base to explore the Peak District. The owner is very helpful and friendly. We would certainly recommend to family and friends as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
What a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Lots of walks with our dog , visit to the tram museum around the corner which we also went back a couple of evenings due to being lit up for Halloween. The garden was lovely size for our dog. Annick was lovely to deal with .Looking forward to going back twice next year. Left you a note Annick.
Fantastic Cottage, Perfectly Located.
We have just returned from our visit to this amazing cottage. The cottage was perfect, so homely, comfortable and well maintained. It had everything you would need and more. There is a BBQ and a cupboard full of board games which entertained us on our first night!
The cottage is in a great location, we were able to find good local walks for the dogs and within 20 minutes you are in Matlock Bath, we visited The Heights of Abraham which kept our 13 year old boys entertained for the day. In Matlock Bath we were also able to hire a row boat which everyone enjoyed!
Just across the road from the cottage is The Tram Museum.. this completely surprised us as it was so much better then we expecting, while we were there they had a 1940s event happening. Also in the village we visited a local pub, I think called the Black Swan, they were very welcoming and had a great selection of ales! We had a meal at the Indian restaurant, extremely good value for money and fantastic food, they don't serve alcohol but you are able to take your own.
Finally, Annick was lovely to deal with, we booked very last minute and she was able to accommodate us and was very helpful.
In all we had a great stay and would definitely like to return!

“I am still in love with the cottage and the area. The house is small but very cosy with lots of light. I love the kitchen leading up to the private patio/ back garden and have the door open all the time, as soon as it is warm enough. The back garden is sun drenched all day (when the sun is out). It is an easy walk to the shops and pubs and you have lovely walks in all directions without getting in the car. Lots of off lead walking for the dog.”
