2 bedroom former miners' cottage located in the picturesque Glencoyne valley.

Location, location, location. If you are looking for a truly rural location with breath-taking views then this is the cottage for you. From Lake Ullswater, to the open fells of the Glencoyne valley to the wooded slopes rising up to Sheffield Pike, the location of this cottage cannot be rivalled for its beauty, tranquillity and habitat. Wildlife to be seen daily include, red squirrels, woodpeckers, deer, badgers and a multitude of birdlife. The mid terrace, stone cottage has been refurbished, retaining its wealth of character including flagstone floor, beamed ceiling, wood burning stove and wealth of local timbers which all help make this a cottage that is sure to be enjoyed by all those fortunate enough to stay here.

Amazing cottage in a beautiful location. We had a fantastic week in the cottage. Really cosy. Even the Tesco van could get up the track.

Absolutely beautiful

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. A short walk down the track takes you on to the Ullswater Way, easily connecting you to Glenridding in one direction or Aira Force in the other. So much to do around the area and yet the cottages are perfectly secluded up in the valley.

The cottage is well furnished with everything you need, the storage heaters are pretty good at their job but that wood burner was a definite highlight of our stay.

Stunning place, stunning views, I would absolutely recommend this to anyone.

Wonderful little 'away from it all' place to stay, yet still close to Ullswater.

The property is old and characterful yet has been renovated to a good standard. It's small, but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We saw red squirrels, woodpeckers and lots of other birds just around the cottages. Sitting out on the garden bench you can watch them whilst looking out onto Ullswater below or the surrounding hills.

I stayed with my teenage daughter and she liked the little converted loft space with the skylight.

There are a couple of considerations if you are going to stay here though- all the stairs in the cottage are 'ladder' style so if you have mobility issues that could be tricky. Also the track to the cottage is quite long and rough so if your car has a low undercarriage this could be tricky too.( I had a Ford Fiesta and managed ok but not ideal).

There are lots of little parking spots nearby around the lake and we swam safely with a little dinghy for visibility to boat traffic. Your close to the Lake Steamers in Glenridding too.

For shopping we went to the big Sainsburys in Penrith which is free parking.

We had a lovely stay- very peaceful, relaxing and beautiful environment.

Comfortable accommodation in an incredible location

3 Seldom Seen is in a truly unique and incredible location with beautiful views down to Ulswater from the garden and great walks on the doorstep. The cottage is very clean, well kept and comfortable with everything you would need. The neighbours were quiet and friendly.

Worth noting that the track up to the cottage is quite narrow and rocky so if you don't have a 4x4 it is worth taking it easy. Otherwise no issues.

Secluded, remote but only 20 mins from M6

We loved it! Great original features such as the black beam ceilings but with all mod cons and good choice of furniture. Clean and perfectly prepared right down to a bunch of flowers on the window sill! It was warm, especially with the use of the wood burner fire box. Good, clear instructions for all equipment and facilities. If access is a challenge via the half mile track, it's worth it. We had a true sense of getting away from it all and would love to return one day.
