Warm spacious modern house in a quiet cul de sac above Harlech Castle. It is close to the historic Barmouth bridge, Mount Snowdon and the Ffestiniog + Welsh Highland Railways. Also nearby is Portmeirion, and Zip world/Bounce below, and obviously the World Heritage Site that is Harlech Castle! Ty Mefus(strawberry house) is ideally suited to either a large family, or family group where one party may require more privacy. Ty Mefus has a kitchen and dining area on both floors giving more accomodation flexibility than most holiday homes. There is a large sun terrace with BBQ accessed from the first floor lounge/diner and top kitchen area giving brilliant flexibility to both relaxing and don`t forget the large kitchen diner downstairs as well. Ty Mefus is ideally placed to catch the sun all day but especially so in the afternoon and for the spectacular Harlech sunsets!

The park is ideal for exercising your dog/s, the children or even yourselves and leads to the church and then onto the iconic centre of Harlech itself.

We do ask that all guests respect the World Heritage Site status of Harlech and also the peace and quiet that our friends and neighbours enjoy. If you feel you may not be able to commit to this request, then please contact us for more information or try and choose a more suitable holiday home in the Harlech area

We can even arrange, subject to availability, for our caravan to be outside Ty Mefus to increase the sleeping capacity by a further 6 people. This will however restrict parking at Ty Mefus, but there is a carpark 200 metres down the road.

What makes this house unique

Ty Mefus is spacious and warm and ideally situated within Harlech in that use of a car is not necessary.As an upside down home of sorts it makes the most of its position.

We are able to collect guests from the nearest railway station, and even offer the use of ourselves and car for touring around Snowdonia for a small extra charge!

All electric and gas use is included in the price agreed.There is BT infinity broadband available with freeview enabled, and ability to use netflix or utube on new 4K ultra HD TV.Both televisions have usb connections if you wish to bring your music and films in this format. Outside: Sun terrace on first floor level with gas bbq and outdoor furniture for 10 and a 3 seater swing sofa. Parc Bron y Graig is adjacent ,ideal for walking the dog, or the children! Utility Room: See kitchen. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided. Cleaned between bookings. Washing machine and tumble dryer provided Other: Currently there is an indoor storage area for 2/3 clean bikes (outside tap above concrete splay) and a 4x5 metre outside enclosed storage area also to the rear of Ty Mefus.

Amazing!!

The house is well equipped with a plenty of space for 8-10 people. Sue even put the flowers in a vase for welcoming us. We have everything we need for a small party dinner. We really enjoyed our stay there. The location is superb, close to the restaurants, bars, golf course, tennis court and the beach. Snowdonia and Cader Idris are both not too far. Such a lovely place to spend the weekend with your family and friends. Thank you to Trevor and Sue.

Clean and beautifully maintained house in ideal location for exploring Snowdonia national park

Myself and 7 friends had a lovely stay in this cottage. There was plenty of room for all of us, we particularly liked the living room with the dining table big enough for us all to sit around and enjoy meals together. The village itself was lovely (although keep your eye on the time if you want food - the only place willing to take us at 8pm on a saturday night was the Indian!). The castle in particular is very impressive, as were the sea views.

We used the cottage as a base for climbing mount snowdon, and found it was well-situated, with not too long a drive to the nearest car-parks for the walk.

Overall we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend the cottage to anyone.

Excellent house for a group stay

Perfect place for exploring the Snowdonia national park and Harlech.

House was great for a large group: We enjoyed the BBQ on the terrace, sit down meals at the large table and watching rugby on the large TV in the lounge (internet speed is fine for streaming!).

Having two kitchens worked very well and the whole group was impressed with the place.

Would definitely stay again!

Good sized house with comfortable rooms.

2 day trip with work friends to walk Snowdon. Lots of space allowed us to all have our own rooms. Everything worked well and property was perfect for our trip. I'd recommend this to parties such as ours and large families; perhaps two families who get on. Great place and fulfilled all our needs. Good price too.

Harlechs long dune backed sandy beach is 15 mins walk. other beaches such as dyffryn,barmouth and black rock (drive on beach) are a

short drive.

Travel:

Manchester airport is 2. 5 hours. Harlech has a train station and is well connected to many local attractions up and down the coast. It is also possible to connect with the local narrow gauge railways to take you to more inland destinations.

Distances:

Harlech is especially well placed within Snowdonia,most attractions can be driven to within 1 hour . Visitors who stay in Harlech usually visit Portmerion,zipworld,snowdon,ffestiniog and welsh highland railways,bounce below,greenwood forest park and more, or some are quite content to visit places within walking distance for example Harlech castle,theatre,pubs,restaurants,shops,beach,swimming pool,rock climbing wall,golf course,childrens play centre and slate quarry,bron y graig parc,church etc

Further Details:

Harlech is blessed with most facilities for such a small community. if you need more info. just ask as we and the children live up the road and know (nearly)all the special places to visit or experience. Mountain biking or cycling is nearby at mawddach estuary, coed y brenin, and the downhill trails at blaenau ffestiniog.There are also plenty of waiks from Harlech itself,up into the mountains, or along the 5km beach just for starters.
