This property is very 'home from home', comfortably furnished a place to relax. It is up into the head of the valley, hence has great views down to the sea and mountains. loads of terrace space for sun bathing. All the rooms have effective ceiling fans, if you need them. The kitchen is well equipped for ease of use. You will even have a view down to the sea when you are preparing meals. We can arrange for cleaning services if required . All bed-linen and towels are provided. If you have a problem, you will be given telephone numbers of people who will help you. We have contact with boat owner moored in Puerto Rico harbour if you want a day out at sea to go fishing
If you want to have a day out fishing, we can arrange for that also. Would be a good idea to book before you arrive to save disappointment.
You are connected with WIFI so bring your ipad, tablet or laptop with you. You will be able to get normal english tv. There is also a DVD and loads of dvd's. Small library of books. Home from home, in fact.
I bought the house as my daughter was married to a Canarian and was teaching in the area. I go out as often as I can. If I didn't have three sons and many grandchildren, even one great grandchild, back in England ,I would probably live out there all the time. It is not a tourist area ( although if you would like that occasionally, you only have to drive to Puerto Rico, 10min drive away) For me it has to be home from home. I have made many friends out there especially at the English/International church in Puerto Rico behind the shopping centre.
The weather, of course , is brilliant. The air is pollutant free in the south of the island. And the skys at night are so clear multitudes of stars. Sunsets too can be very dramatic.

I have only just put the house onto the holiday website, again, recently. In the past people have always said how they loved its position and have had people coming back year after year. It was always also considerd to quote 'amazing value for money' and I do try to keep the rent down as much as I can, especially with everyone suffering from the economic crisis. I love to hear that people have had a really great holiday. That makes me smile !
Two golf courses and one driving range within walking distance has to be a good benefit. Being so near to a variety of places to visit and things to do.
Within easy access to motorway taking you to other parts of the island as quickly as possible.
The air along this stretch of the island is really healthy. You can tell at night under a cloudless sky how clean that air is, you can see so many stars.
We were very happy to stay in Tauro apartment which has remarkable terrace with wonderful view. Good location, fully equipped kitchen. Thank you Judith a lot.
Lovely property with spectacular view to the sea. Clean and comfortable with everything you need for a weeks relaxing break. Helpful owner and caretaker on hand. Nice restaurants nearby. I would recommend this property to anyone except those with limited mobility who find stairs difficult. Wonderful holiday. Thank you
Thank you Judith for letting us stay at your lovely property this is my second time staying at the villa which is very well equipped, clean and comfortable with everything you would need for a great holiday.
We welcomed a visit from Judith's daughter Lizzy and her husband during the week just to find out if everything was okay from our side which was great.
Couple of things I would like to add which might assist Judith in the future, whilst we were there it was very hot (I suppose it's what you expect in Canaries and what we went for), there is no air conditioning and meant that the villa/apartment was boiling hot, consequently we had to have the fans on practically all the time which can't help with the bills - might be something to think about putting air con at least in the bedrooms and lounge, would reduce the need for fans although I can understand maybe costly - this however didn't detract from us having a lovely time!
I am looking forward to going to the villa again, hopefully in the not too distant future.
Tauro ist ein vergleichsweise sehr ruhiger Ort and der Südwestküste von Gran Canaria, und man könnte kaum glauben, dass man sich nur 10 Autominuten vom grossen Urlaubsort entfernt ist. Besonders nicht, wenn man auf der Terrasse dieses Hauses am Abend sitzt und nur Stille herrscht (abgesehen von einigen ab und zu bellenden Hunden im Viertel, die uns aber nicht besonders gestört haben).
Der Blick von der Terrasse ist sehr schön und sogar besser als was man von den Bildern vermuten könnte.
Wir haben besonders diese Terrasse geschätzt, da sie auch einen Grill zu bieten hat - nicht gewöhnlich in den Kanaren!
Die Küche ist modern und sehr gut ausgestattet. Auch die zwei Badezimmer wirkten relativ neu renoviert und wir hatten keinerlei Probleme mit Temperatur oder Wasserdruck (sonst nicht ganz ungewöhnlich bei Ferienhäsuern in wärmeren Gegenden).
WLAN/WiFi funktionierte auch einwandfrei und zuverlässig.
Wie schon in einem älteren Bericht erwähnt, wird es sehr warm im Haus wenn die Sonne scheint. Wir fanden dass die Ventilatoren ausgereicht haben, um die Zimmer ausreichend zu kühlen, aber vielleicht ist es noch wärmer im Juli/August (wir waren im September da).
Betten: Teilweise knirschend aber bequem, haben jedoch nicht alle wirklich probiert.
Die Umgebung ist wie gesagt sehr ruhig, die Einwohner ein Gemisch von Lokalbewohnern und älteren Nordeuropäern. Es gibt einen Spar-Laden ungefähr an der Einfahrt zum "Stadtteil". Man ist bei Bedarf sehr schnell auf der Autobahn, Parken kein Problem da man einen nummerierten Platz zugewiesen bekommt.
Dieses Haus ist die absolut perfekte Wahl, wenn man als Individualreisende/r an der sehr sonnigen Südwestküste von Gran Canaria bezahlbar wohnen möchte. Sehr empfehlenswert!
