This property has recently been refurbished throughout and will offer bright and quality decoration. It is in the heart of Ditchling village, which is popular with those walking or cycling the South Downs Way. There is a beautiful cafe opposite where you can sit outside and watch the world go by.. There are 2 wonderful village pubs, a museum and
award winning art gallery as well as its own village pond and cricket pitch. A very English little village, but also ideal if you want to go to the city of Brighton (10 mins by car) with all its many attractions, Lewes town which is beautiful and has a river running through -is 15 minutes by car . Glyndebourne is also very close, and Plumpton racecourse just up the road. You really are spoilt for choice ! The accommodation comprises: lounge with comfy new leather sofa, and a new sofa bed. large TV with free view. Inglenook fireplace, fast wi-fi, also means you can chill out and watch net flicks ( if you have account) or tube on TV? There is a beautiful antique gate leg dinning table and chairs. Lovely East facing kitchen, with oven and hob and washing machine. Inner hall for coats and boots with new stable door to the South facing patio with table and chairs . Modern white bathroom suite with shower and 2 large double bedrooms both with super king size new quality beds which can both be divided to make 2 single beds in each room if preferred. There is a sofa bed so 5 people can stay if needed.
This partner has demonstrated and is committed to fast response times, the best rates, and a great guest experience.
I have 2 teenage sons, who keep me busy.
We love skiing and the boys also love surfing. I also sail and cycle and play tennis lots (although still not very good!)
I work in the travel industry and so have become very particular about how a property should look!
It is a beautiful old cottage, right on The High Street - a stones throw away from 2 superb village pubs. It is in a wonderful location - as well as being within the South Downs National Park - an area of outstanding Beauty.
It is also very close to Lewes and Brighton and easy access to London and Gatwick.
Cottage is small but surprisingly spacious at the same time and comes well equipped. But by far its best feature is its location. The village itself is very near Brighton and 5 mins form direct train link. Also near the Downs for walkers. Village has two great pubs and is within 2 doors of the best one, complete with large beer garden serving fresh stone baked pizzas..restaurant also good.
Be aware that you are right on the street so there is noise in the main bedroom, but nothing to bother us too much. Garden space is small but functional and those are the only minus points.....would happily come here again...and probably will. Highly recommended.
This is a great place to stay in a lovely village. The cottage is compact but comfortable. There is lots to do in the vicinity, walking, National Trust, Virginia Woolf locations, coastal walks and seaside. The village has 2 great pubs and there are walks from the cottage. We hope to stay again some time.
The property oozes character, is ideally situated for anyone wanting to enjoying Ditching and the local area with plenty to see and do all within walking distance.
The owner makes you feel very welcomed right from the start and is A1 with her communication.
The kitchen has all you need to get by, all clean and tidy,a very comfy double bed, effective heating system and the downstairs bathroom provides adventure for a visit in the "wee" small hours.
There is a little road noise as you are right on Ditching High Street but don't let that put you off as the benefits of the location outweigh.
Enjoyable stay and will be likely to go back...
Good value and decent quality food at The White Horse Pub in the town, however if you want to do something really special try the Jolly Sportsman at East Chilington, totally out in the sticks but worthy of a Michelin Star in my opinion......
The property is a beautiful historic terraced cottage situated on the main road through Ditchling. It's well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. We really enjoyed the patio garden with table and chairs . It's a great location for walking and accessing Brighton or the other beaches. We tried out all the pubs and cafe's in the village and can vouch for them all being very good. Our favourite was the Ditchling Tea Room. The Ditchling museum was very interesting. Michelle the owner was very helpful.
This property is as it says on the web site. It was conveniently sited for our visits to "Bloomsbury" properties - Charleston, Monks House Sissinghurst etc and central in the picturesque village of Ditchling. Michelle was a friendly and helpful host. We had a wonderful week.
We had the cottage as a base for our daughter's wedding in nearby Plumpton and couldn't of asked for anything better. The cottage was delightful, cosy and a great location. Great little corner shops, including a bakery - we had a supper at the White Horse, - fabulous food. Cottage has everything you need (except a chef!) - we didn't want to leave. Michelle, the owner, was especially nice and a great help - nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend this beautiful, cute little cottage.
