Lovely sunny, light and airy apartment on the centre of the fishing village of Alvor. Top floor apartment has a large, open sunny terrace with lovely sea and river views. Its fully furnished for holidays and has air.con/heating on the bedroom. Kitchen has a fridge/freezer, micro, ceramic top and oven, coffee maker, kettle etc. living room has a sofabed, flat screen TV with box of 100 channels and WiFi. Linen and bath towels are included. Portuguese renting licence 17809/AL.

Nice location, don't-care owners

The apartment is located right in the centre of Alvor, which is really handy to be able to take advantage of the Alvor café culture.

Unfortunately we had a few issues with the apartment, Ants everywhere in the kitchen, broken bed, broken blinds, broken table.

These may have been able to have been overcome but the attitude from the owner (Mia) was that no-one else had complained, and that ants are not poisonous. Mia seemed to busy to deal with the issues.

We checked out after two night, losing our deposit, which meant our two nights stay had cost us our whole deposit for just 2 nights stay with very little sleep.

When Mia attended to check us out her partner was rather tetchy, saying that not everything can be perfect.

Not the attitude you really want from an owner, you would want to hear that they are trying to make things perfect and address any issues that occur.

The whole experience has put us off booking with owners direct again.

Owner's Response: Dear Ian B., Thank You for your review, However you must know in deep inside of you, that some of the things that you brought up here its not really true. I think untrue comments towards me and our apartment, its not fair on us here on the forum. It´s really important for me, that our guests are having an enjoyable holiday, so please do not say, that we are “don’t care” – owners. I´ll check the apartment always and if anything comes up regarding of the maintenance, its always fixed as soon as possible. As soon as you arrived 1 minute later, I saw that your wife didn’t like the apartment as it was a higher point (3 rd.floor) and she didn’t even wanted go to a terrace, so maybe would be easier just to be honest about it as you decided to stay elsewhere there and then already instead of making up some problems in the apartment. I ll take upon the points you brought up: 1. Double bed was not broken, when you mentioned this, we said that we replaced the bed, if its broken. Bed was checked and it was not broken. 2. As I explained upon your arrival that electrical shutter on the bedroom broke down at the same day, when you checked inn and cleaning lady informed me just before your arrival, which was a bank holiday and curtain was fixed only day after only because of this. Normally handyman would be available straight away, but as you know he was in the hospital recovering from the operation on that day. 3. There is not ants in the apartment, when you e -mailed me about it, I said we will check that and if there is ant (-s), problem will be sorted with the product a straight away. 4. You placed some wineglasses on the tiny decorative table, which only for the table lamp. Well table top was a bit loose and fell and you broke the classes. So you are right about this, that table top was loose and needed a maintenance, but its not really for the wineglasses, table for that purpose is the main table on the front of the sofa. 5. You mentioned that you lost the deposit, this was your own suggestion as you wanted to leave the apartment soon after and gain the balance back. Please note that only deposit was charged. We also lost the chance for a booking with other nice guests, who wanted to stay in the same period. I would suggest the 5 star hotels for you with 24 hour service. I think would be more suitable holiday type for you both. Kind Regards, Mia H.

Great Property

Fantastic location, great apartment/facilities, close to every amenity, but a couple of streets away from the noise, so a good nights sleep assured. I would readily commend this apartment, to all my family and friends. Mia and Miguel extremely helpful.

Great stay in Alvor

This apartment and location suited us perfectly. Convenient to beach and boardwalk and within a short stroll from shops and restaurants. The apartment was spotless and adequately furnished and boasted the finest balcony views in Alvor, from where we breakfasted and sipped the lovely Alvor wine on warm evenings. We hope to return. Absolutely stunning

Just got back from our 2 weeks stay at this fabulous apartment.

Mia was there to greet us on our arrival and was very helpful explaining how everything works.

The views from the apartment are fantastic , looking over the harbour and town and also to the sea. The apartment itself was very well furnished and very comfortable and although only a 2 minute walk to the bars and restaurants was very peaceful and tranquil. We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be back very soon

Apartment has the best location, you are really centre of the village with easy access to everywhere, but still on the quiet street. Its very close to river(2min walk) and the beach(5min walk) and all the shops, mini market,cafes,bars, swimming pool, parks etc. it just a few minutes away.
