About Philip Morgan

The property is owned by Phil and Jackie. Jackie is employed full time by a charity in Bournemouth so the day to day running of both properties is done by Phil.

Phil was a Policeman in London and Dorset retiring in 2003.

They purchased the property in 2015 having lived most of their lives in Poole and Christchurch as they wanted to move to a more rural location.

Phil will be around a lot of the time to deal with any queries you may have but will be unobtrusive and has instructions to leave you alone as he does love to talk.

Philip Morgan purchased this bungalow in 2015

Why Philip Morgan chose Bere Regis

Phil and Jackie purchased this property in 2015. They first looked over the property in the summer of 2014 and fell in love with it at first sight. The gardens are a delight to behold.

They both love Dorset and although well travelled they consider this area one of the most beautiful in the country. The Dorset countryside and coastline must be one of the best in England.

The property to let is joined to the owners property but has its own private access and driveway.

The previous owners use to let the property on Owners Direct and after careful consideration Phil and Jackie have decided to do the same.

Although very rural with its peace and quiet it is only a short drive to the towns of Bournemouth, Poole, Dorchester and Weymouth and there vibrant communities.

What makes this bungalow unique

Lilac Lea is a very comfortable large one bedroomed property. Situated in a rural area but just a short distance from the village of Bere Regis with the Wareham forest on its doorstep and the Purbeck Hills and South West Costal Path just a short drive away.

Deer are often seen in the fields opposite the property and birdlife is abundant.

2015 is the first year that a pair of House Martins have built their nest in the apex roof of Lilac lea. The local Robins will feed out of your hands when they get used to you.

A beach hut at Middle Beach, Studland is also available for your use during your stay at no extra cost.

Excellent base for exploring Dorset

  • 5 of 5

Surrounded by beautiful countryside and just south of Bere Regis the accommodation was ideal for us and our Labrador. Our host, Phil, made us very welcome and shared lots of local knowledge, places to go etc. A very generous welcome pack greeted us in the fridge. The bungalow was clean, spacious and with all amenities to suit. WiFi was a bit weak but that's to be expected in the countryside. All in all a most enjoyable break for us and we expect to visit again when possible. We were blessed with gorgeous weather which was the icing on the cake of a great week.

Very spacious and comfortable property. Great base for exploring Dorset.

  • 4 of 5

Very nice property with plenty of space, and everything you need to hand.

Phillip was very pleasant and welcoming. The breakfast pack and other items were a nice surprise.

The TV is brilliant with wide selection of DVDs etc. The internet wasn't great but adequate if you sat in the right seat!

There was a small amount of noise occasionally that could be heard through the internal connecting door with the owner's property. The lock on the door itself could be improved.

Overall a very nice base for exploring Dorset!

Owner's Response: We now have a booster in the property for the internet which has made a slight improvement. Still waiting for BT to upgrade this area but it seems unlikely in the near future

Lovely, spacious property, very clean and comfortable.

  • 4 of 5

The property was ideally situated for all the attractions of East Dorset. It was very comfortable, the large bedroom and lounge were excellent, and the high ceilings very welcome. Added to it Philip's welcome, and breakfast provided, made it seem as though we were his guests, rather than a holiday cottage. An excellent accommodation, and extremely good value for money.

Very disappointed

  • 2 of 5

Walls very thin between main house and holiday let. Could hear everything in main house. Aware of washing machine on all day Saturday and Sunday. No vacuum cleaner or sweeping brush so could not tidy up during stay.

Owner's Response: I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay as much as you should have. I do not supply a hoover as I don't go on holiday to clean where I am staying and don't expect my guests to do so, having said that I do say to all guests on arrival if there is anything you need let me know and I will get it. There is and always has been a sweeping brush behind the kitchen door plus a dustpan and brush in the one of kitchen draws. As you know while you were there we were away for a week so I apologise for the noise from our daughter as I never realised she had that much washing, she must have been saving it up. Again I can only apologise and hope that the personal problem you faced casing you to leave two days early was sorted out with a satisfactory outcome.

A comfortable, well positioned property, let down a little by a few small niggles.

  • 3 of 5

The property was surprisingly spacious and located in a pleasant and convenient rural location. It was adequately furnished and equipped and had an excellent TV. The property was let down a little by a windowless, dimly lit kitchen. A heated towel rail would be a useful addition. The owner was friendly, helpful and obliging. Unfortunately the very weak signal meant that WiFi was not really available to any useable degree.

However, overall the property was comfortable, well positioned and provided a very pleasant holiday experience.

Owner's Response: The light in the kitchen has been replace so it is a brighter. Unfortunatley due to the location of the kitchen it was not possible to put a window in. Due to our rural location the WiFi signal is poor and BT have no intention of upgrading us in the near future despite the amount of money they have received from the goverment and the fact fibre optic being available less than half a mile away.

Lilac Lea Bungalow

  • 5 of 5

Ideal location for touring this part of Dorset. We had a very enjoyable week

The bungalow was more spacious than the WEB pictures show. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Philip was most helpful. A nice touch was the Bacon, Eggs, Mushrooms, and Tomatoes "Welcome Pack"...very enjoyable.

Highly recommended. Hope to return ourselves.
