Beautiful countryside cottage Perfect for families, couples & dog friendly

Overview

Property

Updated: 29-Oct-2016
Cottage in Coswarth, Newquay, Cornwall, England - Peaceful Location With Easy Access To Numerous Beaches And All Amenities, Sleeps 6-7 People

This cottage is a beautifully decorated semi detached cottage-we are on hand if you need any help, but you will have plenty of privacy as the cottage enjoys its own front and rear garden and a totally separate parking area. The gardens are south facing so when the sun is out you can enjoy it sitting in rear garden, whist dinning alfresco on the patio, or at the front of the cottage admiring the uninterrupted views over the valley. The cottage is ideally located if you would like to stay in a peaceful location, yet have easy access (10mins by car) to the beaches and amenities. If you enjoy beautiful scenery and wildlife, there is a picturesque ford just a 5 mins walk down a quiet road, where we ourselves have frequently seen roe deer, otters, ducks, barn owls and often hear the elusive woodpecker. Coswarth cottage has no light pollution at all and is fantastic at night for star gazing. The cottage is ideal for family and couples, the spacious open plan living/kitchen area and separate snug room so there is plenty of room for all without getting under each others feet! our cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway in Cornwall. There is central heating throughout the cottage, underfloor heating in the upstairs bathrooms and a log burning stove in the lounge area, So is Well equipped to keep you warm in the cooler months. There is free WiFi access throughout the cottage, we'll give you the code and you'll be able to connect all your devices. (However Coswarth Cottage can run at countryside WiFi speed )

There are plenty of amenities just a short drive away; there are basic groceries just 2 miles away in either direction (Quintrell Downs and Fraddon),pubs, chips shop and a Chinese takeaway. We particularly recommend the Plumb of feathers pub/restaurant in Mitchell, Jamie Oliver's restaurant 'Fifteen' at Watergate bay and Rick stein's various eateries in Padstow and Newquay. The Eden project provides a fascinating day out for everyone with several excellent cafes. We also recommend a trip to St Mawgan; a picture perfect village with a pub (The Falcon) which has a beautiful beer garden, quaint tea rooms,a church, village green and Japanese gardens, its only 1.5 miles from Watergate Bay beach so you can combine a trip to visit both places. There are a wealth of activities for you to enjoy within easy reach, for example, Golfing, fishing, surfing, sailing , coastal walks, swimming and cycling (camel trail etc) to name a few. For avid fishermen, there are two lakes nearby , white acres fisheries is only 2 miles away and Oak side fishing lake only 1.4 ,miles also easily walkable. If your looking for that extra special kind of holiday treatments/pampering there are various spas in the Newquay area such as Bedruthan hotel spa , The Scarlet hotel (Both in Mawgan Porth) and The Bay hotel (Fistral Newquay).

One word Execellent !!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from our 1 week stay at Coswarth cottage . We are a family of 6 ,mum, grandad, two adult sons and daughter and her partner . Kathy welcomed us on arrival and we were pleasantly surprised as although the photos looked good on the website it is much better in real life . Kathy had also left us some lovely goodies and some gorgeous flowers .The house is execellent ,lovely design and extremely clean .The beds were so comfortable and all kitchen appliances top drawer . Infact made me want to upgrade all my own things as they are all so new and easy to use. The garden has a lovely barbecue area too . Showers /bathrooms very good . There is a lovely front room if you fancy some quiet time with beautiful views together with the master room which has the same amazing view .The location is very good as near a great beach called Crantock and Fistral beach in Newquay .We travelled a bit further on some days to Falmouth ,St Ives and Perranporth . There is so much to see and do in this part of Cornwall our only drawback is that we didn't have enough time to visit everywhere we wanted to so will have to return and would definitely book this beautiful house again .If it was closer we would visit much more .

Kathy is a great host and as you can read we loved it there and we will be recommending to our friends /family which is not something we would normally do as some people can be quite fussy but there really were no negative things to write .

If you choose to book this house you will have a fabulous time I'm sure and we would like to thank Kathy for the lovely time we spent in her house ( hubby too )

A happy place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this cottage was perfect - beautifully refurbished and designed; spotlessly clean; spacious; well equipped and a great location. Kathy and Steve were friendly and helpful but not at all obtrusive. The flowers and welcome hampers were, well....welcoming! Hard to say what we liked best because it was all so perfect - perhaps the night sky? The views over wide open fields? Counting the passengers on the branch line train?!

This really is a special place.

Wow!!!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment you drive up to the property you know that you are in for a treat. We arrived late afternoon and were greeted and showed around the property by the owner. What a property it is, it's beautiful, decorated to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. The property was perfect for our needs, two families comprising of 4 adults, 3 children 13, 12 & 8 and two dogs. There were thoughtful welcome baskets with tea, coffee, fudge and biscuits waiting for us in arrival abc there was milk and orange juice in the fridge.

The owners live next door, a very friendly young family who couldn't do enough for us if required but left us to our holiday and never imposed.

The property had everything you could need including a wi console for the kids and board games for us all, which we enjoyed in the evening.

Beds were comfy and showers powerful and hot (things I score highly 😉)

Overall I can't praise the house enough, loved it, we all did. We will definitely look to return in the future. 😃

A stunning cottage set in beautiful surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a one week stay in Cosworth Cottage. Kathy met with us and provided a tour of the house. We could not fault anything, the cottage is decorated beautifully, it was shinny clean with very comfortable furnishings. We loved Kathy's welcome goodies and my extra special birthday gift 😊 which was a lovely touch.

The cottage is located within easy reach of popular tourist spots and Kathy is always available if we needed to ask anything.

We would highly recommend Cosworth Cottage and hopefully we can return again as we were sad to leave.

Best of luck Kathy & Rob.. I'm sure your going to be fully booked for a long time to come.

Regards

Stacey & family

A great amd affordable stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a first class peppery that is fresh and new with ALL mod cons . A lovely quiet location which is 15 minutes from most of three local beaches and a great Base for exploring the area. An enclosed garden meant our dog was safe and happy .I can't express how clean and upto date this house is a credit to the owners. In addition the owners left a selection of treats for our arrival that was a really nice touch. I'd recommend this property in a heartbeat.

Beautiful cottage, fantastic location!!

  • 5 of 5

On arrival Kathy was there to greet us and gave a warm welcome. The cottage was spotlessly clean, The description and photos didn't do it justice, roomy, modern and spacious but still managed to maintain the cottage feel.

The location was brilliant, very close to Newquay but far enough away to avoid the nightlife. (Close enough to taxi back if you want to experience an evening out)

Around 45-60 minutes away from the lost gardens of heligan and the Eden project.

Kathy and Rob were both fantastic, always on hand to give a little local advice but not at all intrusive.

I would reccomend this property to anyone. We cannot wait to return. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

Facilities

From the Owner

As a family we have enjoyed many a walk around Coswarth Walking down the quiet road to the ford and beyond, enjoying the countryside views. The children especially have enjoyed seeing the wild life around Coswarth up close, such as Roe deer, otters, ducks, barn owl & woodpecker. As Coswarth cottage has no light pollution its amazing for star gazing. We have spend many an evening sitting on the front porch with hot chocolates gazing at the stars. As busy parents we find Coswarth prefect for relaxing and taking that time out to appreciate the uninterrupted views from the house.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: We are delighted with the way our cottage has been restored, everything has been replaced and its has a comfortable and stylish modern interior. The cottage is near to a local branch line, but as this is a very quiet branch line there is very little noise disturbance whist residing in the cottage. We wouldn't choose to live here if the noise encroached on us relaxing at home! (If you would like confirmation/details on this please email for train line clip, & we will happily send it you you). Outside: There is enclosed front garden which leads to a raised patio area at the rear of the cottage which is prefect for barbecues etc. Both gardens are enclosed to keep your little people safe. Utility Room: There is also a very handy utility room which leads off the kitchen with its own sink, washing machine & microwave. There is a also cloakroom located next to the utility. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The cottage is thoroughly cleaned prior to your visit. We provide bedding, towels (not to be taken to the beach please!), Tea towels & oven gloves. (Any booking that are 7days + e.g. 14 night stay would receive a mid stay bedding/towel change) Other: We also have a separate snug room downstairs with comfy seating ,flat screen TV, WII games console & games. Ideal if you fancy a quiet read or the kids want to chill out away from the parents (or vice versa!).
