Brynhelyg Courtyard is centrally located in the seaside village of Aberporth. The village has a good range of local amenities enabling a leisurely holiday without having to leave the village. The short walk to the lovely sandy beach is great for swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding or relaxing and soaking up the sun. Located yards from the world renowned Welsh Coastal Path and being on the main Cardigan to Aberystwyth bus route makes it the ideal base for exploring the surrounding area.

The ground floor apartment comfortably accommodates five. There are three bedrooms, two doubles a single a lounge, kitchen and bathroom. The property can be accessed via the main road or through the garden leading to the parking area.

The beach can be reached via the country lane or down the steps through the little wooded area or steps/ramp starting on the cliff top. At low tide both coves can be accessed from the beach which also benefits from a café and toilets.

The accommodation is not huge but each room is comfortably furnished and the kitchen well equipped.

The village hall holds a farmers market every Tuesday and other events throughout the year.

Ceredigion provides opportunities for reservoir, lake, pool and sea fishing. Cardigan Bay is renowned for its bass and black bream. Freshwater angling focuses on trout, salmon and is considered world class for its sewin.

Course anglers can fish for carp, tench, perch, rudd, bream, gudgeon and roach.

Coast/Beach:

The spectacular coast has rocky headlands, safe sandy beaches with the chance of spotting seals,dolphins and a variety of sea birds. Two Aberporth beaches are within 150 yards and Tresaith beach is a 5 minutes drive (or 20 minutes walk over the headland). The coastal path is less than 100 yards away. To the south are the beaches of Mwnt, Poppit Sands and Newport, to the north the seaside villages of Llangrannog, New Quay and Aberaeron all well worth a visit.

Further Details:

Aberporth has a beachside cafe, two pubs, an Indian restaurant/takeaway, Chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop. London Stores sells all the basics and there is a post office, pharmacy/gift shop, ironmongers, hairdressers, launderette and children’s play park. The nearest large stores are Tesco and Aldi, 7 miles away in Cardigan.

The market town of Cardigan also has a good range of shops, high street brands and some individual names, pubs, restaurants, cafes, a theatre, cinema, swimming pool and leisure centre.

For walkers there’s the Preseli Mountains and a wealth of inland and coastal footpaths with stunning views and scenery. Visit the many historic castles and Heritage sites such as St Dogmael’s Abby, the working flour mill with scenic pond and water fowl or the ruins at Cilgerran Castle.

For wildlife enthusiasts there’s a red kite feeding centre near Lampeter, otter-watching can be carried out from a hide in the marshes near Cardigan or see buffalo at Cilgerran Wildlife Centre. Alternatively, take one of the many boat trips around the coast, seal and dolphin watching or across to Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park.

There are many family attractions to suit all tastes such as the Iron Age Village, Canolfan Eco Centre, and Cenarth with it's impressive falls, Coracle centre, teashop and pub. Maybe, take a ride on the Teifi Valley Steam Railway or visit the karting, paintball and giant maze at Llwyncelyn. Nearby museums include Toy, Woollen and Fire. Theme parks include Oakwood, Treetops, Folly Farm and Llain Activity Centre. For those seeking something more strenuous, try quad biking, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking or coasteering.

The outstanding 75% balance and £50 REFUNDABLE damages deposit to be paid 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday. For bookings made with less than 6 weeks to commencement the full amount is required.
The damage deposit is not for minor damages such as a broken glass/plate etc.
To confirm the deposits must be received within 7 days of booking.
Changeover Day:
Changeover is on Saturday but alternatives may be possible subject to availability, please ask.
Accommodation is available from 3pm and guests must vacate by 10.00am on day of departure.
Short breaks NOT available.
Notes on prices:
Prices are per week and based on number of beds per property. Party size must not exceed 5 except if there is an infant requiring a travel cot.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Heating, all bed linen, duvets, pillows, tea towels are included. The property does not have a washing machine but the village launderette has self service machines or will do a service wash. We request that guests refrain from smoking inside the property however, smoking is permitted in the garden. Guests are asked to dispose of butts considerately. Sorry no pets. Brynhelyg has a shared courtyard with a decking area, picnic table and built-in barbeque. Barbeque cooking tools are provided and disposable barbeques and charcoal can be purchased locally. There is an allocated on-site, off-road parking space (marked "Courtyard"). Courtyard cleaned before arrival. Bedding changed weekly.
