Min y Mor Bach is a very comfortable spacious cottage with a beautiful garden. It is tucked away in a lovely quiet location but only moments from the Parrog beach. Newport, just a short walk away is well known for its cafes, pubs and fine dining restaurants. The town has a good selection of local shops including an excellent butcher and fishmongers, convenience store, post office, wholefood shop, hardware store and chemist. On most Mondays there is a market selling local produce.

The cottage is ideally situated to make the most of the local area. The popular beach of Newport sands and the estuary are ideal for walks, rock pooling, beach BBQ’s and water activities, you can either paddle across at low tide or drive. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the surrounding Preseli Hills provide miles of magnificent walks. Be it bird watching, golf, tennis, horse riding, mountain biking, fishing for mackerel or sewin, this lovely part of Pembrokeshire offers it all.

For mariners the Boat Club is just minutes away, it is in a beautiful location overlooking the estuary and Newport Bay. Membership is very reasonable (non-members bar open end July and August) and visitor’s moorings can be arranged.

We bought the cottage as a young family some years ago and have enjoyed making many friends here in Pembrokeshire during our stays.

Having spent many happy family holidays at Parrog, when the cottage came onto the market we took the opportunity to purchase a secluded property just moments from the Newport estuary and beach.

What makes this cottage unique

With its close proximity to the estuary and beach its a perfect location for a family holiday or just for two. The cottage faces south overlooking fields towards Newport town and the mountain. It has a large, well maintained garden with plenty of parking. It is a short walk to Newport town (along the estuary path) where there are good local shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.

There is an abundance of outdoor activities available - from sailing, boating, fishing, golf, tennis and walking.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Bed linen, bath mats, hand towels and tea towels provided. Please bring your own towels. Travel cot available , please bring cot bedding. A large basket of logs is provided, thereafter please leave £5 per basket used. Two well behaved dog welcome at a fee of £10 per week per dog if restricted to downstairs and kept off furniture. Outside: French doors from the kitchen open onto the generous south facing terrace and large enclosed garden with views across the fields to Newport Church and Castle and onwards to the Preseli Hills whilst westwards is a view of the estuary. A large garden table and chairs are provided for outside dining including a Weber barbecue. A large lawn with plenty of space for children to play and mature flower beds and apple trees. The garden is fully enclosed. To the north, west and east with a large stone wall and entrance gate, to the south is a Pembrokeshire bank separating the garden from the surrounding fields. Outside hot and cold taps for beach wash-downs! Utility Room: Ample space for coats and muddy boots, washing machine, utility sink, separate loo and good sized walk-in shower for those just off the beach! Cleaning / Towels / Linen Bed linen, bath mats, hand towels and tea towels provided but please bring your own bath and beach towels. The cottage is cleaned at each changeover. For those staying for two weeks or more and mid break changeover can be arranged.

Unique and perfect holiday cottage

We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years, quite a few of which have been in Newport, but none really compared to this one. It has everything to make the perfect holiday. Although it is in the middle of Parrog it is very secluded and quiet with a beautiful enclosed garden with views up to Angel Mountain, and the sea from upstairs. The harbour and estuary is less than 2 minutes walk, and Newport town with all it's amenities is only a little bit further. The cottage itself is just perfect!. It is unusually well equipped, cosy but very spacious. The only down side is when you have to leave it!.

Heaven on earth

There are so many things that contribute to a stay at Min y Mor Bach that make it perfect. Newport beach is one of the most beautiful unspoilt beaches I've ever been to and it is literally only a stones throw from the house. You can walk for miles along the sand or search for treasure in the rock pools close to the harbour wall. Wade or sail up the estuary or walk/run alongside on a leafy path. The setting is brilliant - I loved the fact that apart from some very attractive cottages nestling in the hills or around the quayside the only evidence of commercialism is a café and a boat club beside the beach both offer excellent refreshments. All other facilities are only a short walk into town and then again Newport over delivers - the memory of the quality of the local meat and vegetables from the butchers/greengrocers and wide range of treats in delicatessen has still got me salivating. Some very good restaurants too for when you don't want to cook.

Loads of wonderful walks both cliffside and in the hills and plenty of other places to see.

The cottage itself is in an excellent private location with great views of sea, beach and fields. The garden is large and sunny. The whole house is in excellent condition and the layout works beautifully. The kitchen is large and well stocked with equipment, the beds are comfy and the ground floor shower beside the washing machine and not far from the front door was a godsend for dealing with sandy swimmers.

The owners were a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be going back

A perfect setting

Our second visit to Newport and this very comfy house.

The weather was great so we spent a lot of time exploring the local village and the fantastic Walks around Dinas head

We had a very comfortable long weekend. The house was very clean and so close to the beach and the very good local shops and cafes. We will defo return
