Cottage in Wells, Somerset, England - Beautiful Location

The cottage was built in 1745 and has recently been renovated throughout. Conveniently located within the conservation area of Wells, Somerset in the heart of the South West of England. The Cathedral is probably the best known historic building but there is lots more to discover. All this within 5 minutes walk! Wells itself is within easy reach of Bristol, Bath, Glastonbury and the Mendip Hills. Cheddar Gorge/ Wookey Hole and so much more! Within 20 minute drive you have Clarks Village Designer Outlet. About the Owner

I have recently renovated this beautiful cottage. The original part of the house dates back to 1745.

The property is located within 200 metres of Wells Cathedral, Bishops Palace, independent shops, restaurants and the twice weekly farmers market (Wed & Sat)

I hope visitors staying at 6 Tor Street will relax and unwind as they enjoy all that Wells and Somerset has to offer.

If I can help in any way either before ,during or after your booking please do not hesitate to contact me.

What a Gem! Simple the best!

  • 5 of 5

What a gem this property is, from the 1st contact with Lorraine the owner who can't do enough for you. On arrival the property was warm, with welcoming lights on and a pack of luxury goods for you, and all the added extras that were provided to make it a extra special stay. We have stayed in a number of rental properties in the last few years and I can only say that this is simple the best! We will be back in the near future because there is some much to see in this area and Wells is a lovely base to have to travel from.

A great week away!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying in this lovely cottage. It had everything we needed and was in a great location. Is is only a short walk into Wells and a easy drive to Bristol, Bath and Weston Super Mare. A lovely autumn holiday for our two small children who enjoyed walks in the nearby woods collecting conkers and sweet chestnuts. An advantage was the dressing room as this meant we could have one child in the bedroom and the other in the travel cot in the dressing room. Good communication from Lorraine who answered emails quickly and was really accommodating. I would highly recommend this property.

Wells cottage with everything on the doorstep.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely holiday in this cottage . It's on the doorstep for everything you need for either a weekend break or a weeks fab holiday .

The cottage is immaculate , beautifully decorated .very clean tidy and comfortable . It also has parking which is a extra bonus . We had a lovely time there exploring the shops and markets . Clarks villiage is 20 minutes away .

There are many restaurants and pubs also on the doorstep. you can almost touch the cathedral from the back garden which incidentally is a real sun trap and very secluded .we had breakfast outside a couple of times

We will certainly recommend this lovely cottage to our family and friends .

The owners Lorraine and Paul are a lovely couple

nothing was too much trouble .

The extra special touch Lorraine had left tea, coffee, sugar biscuits and a bottle of Wine .

Thanks Lorraine and Paul . We look forward to meeting up very soon

Lovely well equipped cottage in Wells, Somerset.

  • 5 of 5

This lovely Tardis like cottage is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful city of Wells. We stayed for a week and enjoyed every single day, the car barely left the convenient car park opposite. We wandered around the Cathedral, Bishops palace and gardens, the market is excellent as well as the massive choice of dining just a short walk away. On our arrival we instantly felt at home and the welcome pack was very welcome. The cottage is amazing, with lots of space and a very well equipped kitchen. The garden was well used due to the lovely weather (which we don't normally have) perfect for chilling out when we weren't wandering. The beds were really comfortable and the whole place was spotlessly clean. We normally bring bits and pieces with us that you don't usually find in most self catering situations but we needn't have bothered, absolutely everything and more is there and all the little touches we found just made it that more special. My wife particularly liked the powder room. I am certain we will be making a return visit at sometime in the future.

The perfect place to stay in Wells

  • 5 of 5

What an absolutely lovely cottage and an absolutely lovely owner in Lorraine, who did everything possible to make our stay the best it could be. She provided a lovely welcome pack at the get-go, and any time we had a question before or during our stay, she was in touch with us almost immediately. All the furnishings are of the highest quality, very comfortable, and the cottage is equipped with everything you might want or need, even down to umbrellas and shopping bags. The extra dressing room is a really useful bonus too. The cottage is in a fantastic location, just two minutes walk from the cathedral. Having a parking pass for a spot in the car park right opposite was also invaluable. There is a lovely wine bar a stone's throw away, and the bus stop to Bath is a few seconds walk up the street. You can take that bus too to The George in Croscombe, where we had a delicious Sunday roast! But if you want to just chill with a glass of wine at the cottage there is a very sweet, sunny little garden at the back, very peaceful.... We can't wait to come back one day!

Hidden gem - Amazing find - fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

Amazing cottage, beautifully decorated and very well equipped, a real homely feel about it - a welcome pack is there on arrive, which is a lovely touch.

We had fantastic weather, so were able to relax in the rear garden late afternoons, although the sun was present all day - I think we may have over feed the birds though - we saw lots of variety - a jackdaw family, black birds, sparrows, chaffinches and of course... pigeons!!...

The parking permit took away the stress of having to think about parking.

Everything is on the door step to - 5 minutes (at a slow pace) to the centre of Wells and easy routes to local area's - the local markets are fabulous and everybody is very friendly and helpful.

Will be returning... thank you so much Lorraine.
