Lovely cottage - great views

Situated six miles N.E. of Bala, the world-renowned water sports centre on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park; this is unquestionably one of the most beautiful regions of Wales. With easy access to Snowdon, Betws-y-Coed, Harlech, Llangollen, Chester and Anglesey, ideally located to take advantage of the many activities and sights that the spectacular Snowdonia National Park has to offer.

There are many market towns, historic castles and beautiful gardens within a short distance and for the more adventurous, I can definitely recommend the pony trekking in Betws-y-Coed, mountain biking in Llandegla or the white-water rafting and canoeing in Bala; it just depends on how energetic you are feeling! If you just fancy a bit of walking there are some fantastic walks right from the doorstep.

There are plenty of places to eat out in Bala and the local pub/restaurant, The Goat, is only a 10 minute drive away. We always recommend Abul's Spice in Corwen or the Bryntirion Inn in Llandderfel (both around a 15 minute drive), and there are also some great places in Llangollen. For a very special night, you might want to try Tyddyn Llan, a Michelin Star restaurant in Llandrillo.

Tudor Cottage is completely separate from The Granary and completely isolated from neighbours (half a mile away) and road noise. It has its own private garden and parking right outside the front door.

• The cottages are right up to date with perfect mobile phone reception for all networks, broadband and Sky TV with a full package of sports and movies for when you just want to relax.

• Particularly suitable for those who suffer from allergies and asthma; all the bedding including pillows and duvets are hypoallergenic and all the floors are either wood or tiled. We also operate a no smoking/no pet policy in order to accommodate guests with these conditions.

• Towels, bed linen and tea towels provided.

• Private gardens not overlooked by anyone, secure shed for bikes etc.

About Linda Lee

Lawrence (husband) and I are in our early 50s and we bought Hafod Tudur in 1989 after living in Chester so we have owned to cottages for the last 26 years! We travel the world as part of Lawrence's job and have used all the things that we like (and don't!) about booking accommodation to shape how we approach sharing The Granary and Tudor Cottage.

If we want to book somewhere we want to know straight away if it's available and what the cost will be, so we always endeavour to keep our calendars up to date and to answer emails within an hour or two.

We always try to be as flexible as we can with dates and can usually accommodate most requests. We also hope we have created 'a home from home' in the cottages and have hopefully made things how most people would want them.

Why Linda Lee chose Wales

We fell in love with Hafod Tudur as soon as we saw it, it is off the beaten track but still accessible for the main roads, shops and amenities and the views are amazing!!

Where we are located is the best thing - most people just travel through here on the way to the North or West coasts so we are often overlooked here but the benefits of that are that you are only ever 1 hour away from Barmouth or Harlech on the West Coast or Anglesey or Llandudno to the North. If you want to explore Chester in England or most parts of Mid Wales then they are only an hour away and even a highly recommended day out in Liverpool can be yours in an hour and a half.

One nice thing for us personally is that we can walk out of the cottage door and not meet a single person or cross a single road for miles!

What makes this cottage unique

You can do whatever you like here - if you want to relax and 'escape' from the world then you can; if you want a romantic escape with the partner of your dreams - it's yours.

If you want to get out there with horse riding, white water rafting, mountain biking or fishing - you can.

If you want to take your family to the beach or to visit one of the may castles, National Trust properties or gardens around here, do it.

If you don't want to go anywhere (and lots of people don't when they get here) then we have: the lake with canoes, diving platform and slide and fishing - the hot tub and sauna, games room with pool table darts and table tennis - the field with badminton and disc golf course (4 holes) - all here for you to enjoy and these are all only shared with Tudor Cottage or The Granar

Booking Notes:
If you do want to go ahead and book the costs shown do include all heating (including logs & coal), electricity, towels and linen, sauna and hot tub use, Wi-Fi and Sky TV, there would be nothing else to pay. The only things we ask for a contribution towards are the washing machine and tumble drier if you use them and any ‘pay to view’ programmes on Sky. All we would need now is a deposit of £100 with the balance 6 weeks prior to arrival; I would show the cottage as booked as soon as you let me know and would email confirmation as soon as we receive your payment - we can accept card payments and there is no charge for that but our preferred method of payment is by bank transfer - we would send you the details.

I do hope all this suits you, if you have any further questions at all or any special requests please don't hesitate to get in touch at any time. I really can guarantee you would not be disappointed with either the cottage or the area, both are quite special.

Our check in times are 2pm and we would ask that you check out by 10am but we can be flexible on this if there is nobody in before or after you.

lovely cottage in a tranquil environment

We stayed in The Granary for 3 nights. Linda was there to welcome us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the cottage and the surrounding areas. The cottage was wonderfully built and everything in there was carefully thought of. We didn't need to get anything extra except our food. The cottage was super clean and tidy and well designed. Linda is a great hostess, she made sure that we are comfortable and happy. I highly recommend this cottage.

Lovely cosy cottage!!!

We loved this cottage, it had everything we were looking for in a countryside getaway. Log burner, great views, peaceful location. The hut tub is a fantastic feature, up on the hillside with superb views, the games room and sauna directly facing the granary cottage were excellent too. We hope to return sooner rather than later!!!

Excellent Weekend Away

The beauty of this location is that you are never too far from anywhere in North Wales; travel West for one hour and you will find Barmouth, Porthmadog, Portmeirion and Harlech on the West cost - travel North for one hour and you will find Llandudno and Conwy castle on the North Coast. If you want to do some shopping and see the historical town of Chester, then that is only a one hour drive to the East.
