Cottage in Beddgelert, Snowdonia National Park, North Wales - Within Walking Distance Of All Village Amenities And An Ideal Base For Exploring Snowdonia

Rhiwlas is a charming self catering cottage, positioned on the banks of the River Colwyn, in the heart of the picturesque village of Beddgelert in beautiful Snowdonia. It's riverside location allows you to relax on the private patio and enjoy the views over the river towards Moel Hebog. The location of the cottage makes it ideal for you to explore the area, including the mountains, coast, beaches, forest and castles. It is not far from many of the routes up Snowdon. You can walk, bike ride, horse ride, climb, canoe, sail, play golf, fish or just relax. The historic harbour towns of Caernarfon and Porthmadog are close by and are linked by the Welsh Highland Steam Railway which stops at a station in the village, you can take ride through the dramatic scenery of the Snowdonia National Park, with children traveling free. The village of Beddgelert has a number of pubs - some of them dog friendly - cafes, tea rooms and shops offering local crafts and produce. It also has an award winning Ice Cream Parlour with attached pizza place where you bring your own wine no corkage charged. Most of the pubs serve food and at the height of the season the cafes/bistro serve breakfast, lunch and evening meals. Amongst the other amenities are a post office and well stocked general store.

Lovely cottage with home from home feel!

  • 4 of 5

I am always apprehensive when booking online and this cottage had only one review. I needn't have worried. It was a fantastic little find, the cottage was immaculate which is always my main concern and was very well equipped. It was central to Beddgelert so if you are a walker this is fantastic as you have mountains to explore on your doorstep then to the lovely pubs in the village after without having to move the car. I really feel that it is a well loved cottage and maybe the owners own holiday rental as it really had a homely feel. Fresh bed linen and ample fresh towels. I would definitely recommend and will be going back. Thankyou to Lynn who was there to meet us and hand over keys.

Fantastic cottage in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic little cottage that the photographs do not do the cottage justice, Situated in the beautiful village of Beddgelert it is a few minutes walk to everything you need. Nicely furnished with the best equipped kitchen I have ever found in a holiday let. The decked terrace over looking the river was a lovely place to sit & enjoy the views . There were lovely touches like bowls for the dog, sette blankets, games books ect.. The cottage was beautifully clean when we arrived, we were met & shown around the cottage & all the facilities. Communication was fantastic from enquiry to post stay. I would highly recommend this cottage, there is no wifi, which would have been useful as there is little signal in the village but it was actually nice to get away from it all!!!

Owner's Response: How nice to read such a lovely review. It's hard to capture how lovely the cottage is with photographs but I'll now do my best to upgrade them. Rhiwlas is a place of joy for me and my family as well as others and I do everything to make it as comfortable and pleasurable as possible. I'm glad to hear I seem to have got it right but any suggestions for making it even better will always be welcome. Thanks again and you're welcome back anytime.
