Argeles-sur-Mer is a seaside resort with lots of activities for both children and adults during the summer season, but is also very attractive for those who prefer a quiet place; off-season, to explore the Catelan region with all its historical sites; go walking (rambling), water sports, golf, biking, horse riding, etc.

There are two parallel promenades in front of the apartment which extend the length of the beach, separated by palm trees and oleander bushes – 10 mins walk in one direction to the Port, with its yachts and many restaurants, and half an hour in the other direction (past the Casino) – ideal for those who don’t like energetic walking ! Life guards present in high season.Lots of shops, superette and a large selection of restaurants within 100 meters. Large, free, public car park very near if no space found on Allee du Racou. The use of a car is not necessary as there is a Bus Service at 1 Euro which serves the whole region, and the little Train which circulates between the Village and the beach.

About Miss Frances Lynch and Mrs Alice Trufelli

We are two sisters, Frances and Alice. We fell in love with the Argeles area two years ago and decided to spend the winter months here to benefit from the delightful weather, food and beautiful location.

Frances speaks fluent French and has made lots of friends while participating in local activities.

We come from the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, where we have a guest house. This occupies our spring and summer months, which is why we let the apartment rom May to November.

What makes this apartment unique

We are lucky to have an apartment directly on the sea front: Outside are two long promenades and the beach is only 50 metres from the apartment. It is a wonderful area for walking/cycling, either on the flat (promenade) or in the hills behind Argeles. Frances is an ardent walker/ trekker and Alice plays golf at St Cyprien only 8 kms from Argeles. It is warm enough to swim here from March to Nov.

In the summer it is a true sea-side holiday resort for all ages, with all kinds of activities available and numerous restaurants serving superb fresh fish, and local dishes. Spring and early autumn are particularly enjoyable when it is not so hot and there are less visitors.

Our local airports are Perpignan (half an hour), Girona (1 hr), Carcassonne (2 hrs) Barcelona (2 hr and half)

Notes on accommodation: The apartment is brightly furnished. The furniture is of good quality and comfortable. Kitchen equipment is up to date and in very good working order, with all the electrical equipment you could need on holiday. For those who like to do their own cooking there is a small but well stocked supermarket approximately 150 yards away. Hot water is immediate and constant. A reversible heater/fan will give heat or cold air therefore ideal for all weathers. There are standard lamps for reading - choice of books in English & French, DVD's in English & French, Internet access is available. International TV -several languages. Outside: The apartment opens directly onto a narrow path at the front where you can sit, but it is not private property; there is a garden at the back, but it is not large and shared with the apartment above and the studio flat at the back of the house. This has not been a problem in the past as people usually want to get away from the sun to eat and prefer to eat inside. Also the beach is so close, most people go there during the day. We provide beach equipment:- wind break, mat, 2 beach chairs. Picnic table and two chairs which we use outside the front door for our aperitif!. Utility Room: Beach equipment:- wind break, mat, 2 beach chairs. Picnic table and two chairs. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning- the normal French policy is for clients to leave the apartment clean. If preferred a cleaning lady can be provided at the tenants cost. Cleanliness, and inventory will be checked on arrival and before people leave. Linen on request (charged). Other: To ensure cleanliness - the apartment, the inventory and bed-linen will be checked on arrival and before tenants leave.

Activities : Water-sports – swimming; snorkling; surfing; sailing, canoeing, diving, fishing, mountain biking, horse riding. etc.

Excursions by 1€ bus, boat, little train, bicycle, or on foot. Visits to Castles, Cathedrals, Museums or discover the great variety of flora and fauna

of the region.

Booking Notes:
One quarter of the total charge must be paid within one week of reserving. The remainder must be paid at least one month before the date of arrival. At this time, or on arrival £200 , must be paid as a guarantee that no damage will be done to the apartment. The apartment is inspected on the final day before clients leave to check the inventory, cleanliness, possible damage. Provided there are no problems the guarantee of £200 is returned within 7 days of departure.

Changeover Day:
Change over day is Saturday, but in low season a different day will be considered provided the booking is for at least one week.
