Only 5 minutes walk to the ocean beauty spot of Cala Blanca and a 15 minute stroll to the famous sandy Arenal beach. Close to shops, restaurants and all amenities and within easy reach of the old town and port areas. Cala Blanca itself is a peaceful and quiet corner but lovely traditional restaurants and streets or the fun of the beach are all there to be enjoyed nearby. Country walks, hidden bays, fabulous views are all on your doorstep.

Why Jules Gibb chose Xàbia

Spain took me by surprise; such a lovely country and such a warm and welcoming culture. I came across Javea completely by chance and I'm so glad I did. It's charming. I still feel like I'm getting to know the place but the more times I visit the more I love it.The countryside and the coast still feel real and not over developed and it's easy to get away from it all.

What makes this apartment unique

This duplex is 'home from home,' and is just so easy. Everything is on hand and the area is a lovely balance of old Spanish and modern tourist.

Notes on accommodation: This is a lovely modern end duplex in a beautiful area, set in a well maintained garden complex. There is secure parking underground and a lift up to the ground level.There is also off road parking outside. On the ground floor is the hall, kitchen, lounge/dining room, shower room and private patio. The whole house has marble tiled floors. Up stairs are three bedrooms; the master bedroom having an en-suite and the two twin rooms sharing a family bathroom.The house is set in a pretty garden with a bright and clean, shared pool with children's splash pool. The location is ideal; in one direction a few minutes walk away is the quiet pretty coves of Cala Blanca and in the other, 10-15 minutes stroll away the colourful sandy beach area with busy shops and cafes and beach activities.There is a handy little supermarket and bakery just round the corner from the complex. Outside: The the duplex is set in pretty and well-maintained, mature gardens.The garden is screened from the nearby quiet road by tall shrubs and trees and a locked gate makes it safe for playing children and gives a relaxing, private atmosphere. The house has a sunny private patio with retractable awning overlooking the gardens and pool. The patio has a pretty table and chairs and extra seating. There is a barbecue and all cooking utensils. The shared pool is a few yards from the patio and has a shower and children's splash pool. Outside the back of the house is a long lawn with marble benches. This too is screened from the orchard beyond by trees and shrubs. It's a peaceful place to sit surrounded by birdsong and the fragrance of blossom. Utility Room: Ironing board and iron; clothes drying rack; three mobile electric fans; two mobile electric heaters; hairdryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Clean towels and bedding will be ready for you when you arrive and the house will be spotless. There will be some one nearby to help if necessary. Please bring your own beach towels if required. Other: Marble tiled entrance hall and stairs.

A very good family holiday

Cala Blanca Duplex

Just returned from a family holiday (August 2016), three generations, in Xabia/Javea staying in a 3 bedroomed duplex in a secure complex surrounded by Spanish families (with one exception). The facilities and location were ideal for our family, lawn for sunbathing (daughter) just in front of the ground floor patio, pool (for grandchildren) 20 meters from patio, running trails (for son-in-law) from the property, Cala Blanca cove (for me) ideal for snorkelling just a 10 minute walk away. What did my wife like, the close proximity of Aldi and Consum supermarkets? No the fact that all her family enjoyed her choice of resort and property and had a great time.

Javea/Xabia is a lovely family resort with something for everyone, i.e. sandy beach/rocky coves/shingle beach with sea gym/old town etc. The property had all we needed, three bedrooms, one with en-suite, a bathroom upstairs and shower room (shower not use) downstairs. The spacious kitchen had all necessary appliances and the large lounge had sky TV and wifi (essential for our grandchildren when not wet) and three sofas to lounge on, all within a very safe environment.

We were met, and supported during our holiday, by Maria who lives in the complex with the arrangements all being made direct with the owner Jules so it was very easy to book. Jules and Maria were friendly and helpful, reassuring us when booking and during our stay. We all settled into the property and felt very much at home, so much so that our holiday of two weeks was over far too quickly and we had, reluctantly, to leave. The property benefits from an underground car park space, great for keeping the car cool, and a/c in the lounge and master bedroom, though during our stay the hot nights meant that we envied our daughter and son-in-law in their “master bedroom”.

Will we return? Very likely, as my wife and I enjoyed visiting Gandia and Xativa and would like to explore more of the region and walk some of the trails our son-in-law ran (but perhaps when it is cooler).

Heavenly!

I love this place! The house was perfect, (especially the patio!) and ideally situated, with shops, and two beaches within walking distance. It was lovely to see Spanish families there for the Easter weekend. The old town is lovely, and worth a visit; we took the bus (the stop is a few minutes' walk from the house). I can't wait to come back!

A wonderful escape!

A fabulous winter escape to the milder, sunny climate of Spain. Apartment was pristine, spacious and very comfortable - it was delightful to sit out the front with coffee in the morning sun and on the terrace with a glass of wine in evening sun. The location is quiet but only a short walk to the buzz of the sandy beach with shops and eateries. Great walks and stunning scenery all close to hand. Hope to go back again soon!

Location

Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

Cala Blanca- the white cliff- is only 5 minutes walk away. This is a beauty spot with rocky coves, caves and rock pools along a lovely coastal path. 15 minutes stroll in the other direction is the fabulous sandy, "Arenal" beach- lively with cafes and restaurants; a great beach with safe swimming, lots of soft sand and children's play area. For the more adventurous, walk along the cliffs above Cala Blanca to the chalky pine forests around the bay and discover lots of little coves and inlets.

Travel:

Javea is half way between Alicante and Valencia, being around 90k from each. It is do-able on public transport but much easier to hire a car. The journey takes an an hour to an hour and a half, on a direct and easy toll road. Once in Javea a car is not essential as all the areas are linked by a regular bus service which stops outside the door.

Distances:

The old town of Javea and the old Port area are a short scenic drive (or cycle) away. Further afield it's an hours drive to the Terra Mitica theme park in Benidorm. Shopping in Denia is a 20 minute drive around the beautiful Montgo Mountain where you can also get a ferry to Ibiza. The pretty coastal towns of Moraira and Altea are about 30 mins scenic drive.

Further Details:

At Arenal, as well as safe swimming, you can surf and body board and in the rocky coves you can snorkel and scuba dive. Javea has a tennis club and go-karting. The Javea region is circled by mountains and pine forests and there are numerous marked footpaths to explore. It is also a famous cycling region and bikes of all levels can be hired locally. In the mountains you can visit caves and in Gata de Gorgos- waterfalls. Little towns and villages still produce traditional crafts such as basket making. The Old Town and the Port areas are very Spanish with markets, church squares, narrow streets and quirky shops. There are numerous cafes and restaurants serving local dishes and tapas and beach side cafe bars where you can watch the sun go down over the sea. Benidorm is about 1 hour away for 24 hour party people. Local shopping is easy- modern supermarkets abound- and all facilities are within walking distance at Arenal. The tourist office is helpful and informative.
