Family friendly detached home located in a quiet Portuguese residential area, private pool and enjoying amazing panoramic sea views.

All the magic of Taviras' old riverside town..it takes approximately 15 - 20 minutes to walk to Tavira town centre.

The villa provides a perfect retreat for families, couples and groups from 2 to 9 people. It is located conveniently for public transport, supermarket, shopping, cinema, restaurants and beautiful white sandy beaches.

The villa occupies 250 m2. All rooms are air-conditioned with hot and cold settings, unlimited wireless internet and 2 TVs.

Four generously appointed double bedrooms, two with its own terrace having views of the sea and Tavira.

The bedrooms are light, airy with quality beds. Each room has mosquito windows/door screens. Fully air-condition, all with comfortable beds, two King size, one double plus two single, table lamps and large wardrobes.

The cosy living room has big deep sumptuous leather sofas, extendable dining table for 8 people, flat screen TV with HDMI connections and wood burner for the cooler months of the year. The lounge and kitchen has floor to ceiling windows that truly captures the breath taking views.

Surrounded by an ample terraces.

Leading from the lounge is the fully fitted kitchen equipped with all the utensils and equipment for 8 people.

Our large south facing terrace has the sun all day..Furnished with seating, table and retracting canopy. Perfect place for breakfast through to dinner, reading or just relaxing soaking up the sun and listening to the birds.

Our home offers indoor and outdoor dining experience to be enjoyed in comfort and style. Indoor, guest can choose to close the doors and enjoy a cooking experience the conventional way or you can cook on the stone bar-be-que by the pool.

Outside we have 8 sun loungers, tables, chairs and an external shower by the pool.

The front gated garden is filled with tropical plants, fruit trees and flowers.

The rental price includes linen, towels, electrics, air-condition, wi-fi, high chair and cot.

A security safe has been installed in the property should you wish to use it.

Food is one of Tavira strengths. We are lucky to have several good local restaurants nearby, frequented by locals. You will be spoilt for choice with the cafes and restaurants offering an array of traditional dishes.

There are excellent golf courses within 10-15 minutes drive from the accommodation. The closest are Benamour and quinta de Ria.

A car is not necessary as you can walk to all the shops, restaurant, bars etc or use the local buses and taxis.

Tavira beaches make up part of the nature reserve of the Ria Formosa. Ria Formosa is an unspoilt protected area for nature lovers, a paradise for bird watchers and walkers. This unique lagoon system with salt pans stretching along the Eastern Algarve from Faro to Cacela Velha.

In the summer Tavira has several festivals of live music, street theatre and open air concerts.

Arrivals are flexible, checking time is 15.30 and departure is 10.30 unless otherwise arranged.

We provide linen and towel change every 7 days. However more changes and cleaning can be requested separately. Please speak with our management team.

Beautiful villa, equipped with everything. Tavira and shops further away than stated.

We stayed with 6 adults and a baby, the villa was perfect for us with a bathroom for each couple. Its a beautiful location with amazing views. Villa just lovely, really is a home from home, equipped with everything you'd need, we cooked in most evenings and used the BBQ lots! Pool is also lovely. Only downside is Tavira town and supermarkets were a further walk than stated, we didn't hire a car, the town centre more like a 25minute walk and closest supermarket 10-15mins walk (down a very busy road, not suitable for a buggy)

A relaxing family holiday in this delightful villa located in a quiet residential ares of Tavira.

We are just back from a great family holiday in this lovely villa; four adults, 2 teenagers and a baby.

Jane was very accommodating when we arrived and we had access immediately to the villa. We really appreciated this with a 12 month old baby.

The villa was very spacious and extremely well equipped and in a pleasant quiet residential area with lovely shady terraces to sit and relax – very welcome in the 30 - 35 degree heat, as was the pool which was well used by all.

We hadn’t planned to venture far so only hired one car for the supermarket shopping, which turned out to be a wise decision as to walk would have meant a good 10 minute trek along the busy N125 to the nearest small supermarket. Only 2 minutes by car. The large Continente was a 15 minute walk while good old Lidl was a 5 minute drive.

The walk into Tavira town is about 20 minutes (downhill). More of a challenge coming back especially with a pushchair!

We ate out at the Black Anchor by the river in town (we went there 4 years ago too) and O Patio (R. Antonio Cabreira), with its delightful roof dining. The food at both places was superb.

We would have found more information in the folder beneficial. E.g. emergency numbers and location of doctors, pharmacy, supermarkets etc.

A thoroughly delightful holiday in this beautiful area of the Algarve; we would not hesitate to recommend Andorina Casa and hopefully will return soon!!

Great villa

The villa was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The pool and outside area was gorgeous and our teenagers had a fantastic time. The walk to the nearest supermarket was a little further than we had thought and also it was quite a walk to the town. However the taxis were good and cheap so we made use of them.

Owner's Response: Hi So glad you had a good time at the villa. I take your point about the walk into town, we find that it splits people in that some finding it perfect at around 20 minutes into town whilst others think it is just a little too far. One tip which you may have figured out is to take the shortest route. When you cross the railway crossing keep going straight for about 400 yards until you come to the café Venezuela on the right and the drop down into Bishop Square and the bridge over the river. For quite a time we were crossing the line and then turning left which is quite a bit further in distance. Hope you visit Tavira again and thank you for taking time in making this review. Lovely villa

We spent 2 weeks in this villa July 2017 and had a fantastic time. We made good use of the pool and BBQ - all rooms comfortable, clean with air con (thankfully). All beds very comfortable.

We used Vitor at Tavira Taxi for airport runs and some local trips and he was always on time, friendly and speaks good English!

There are some amazing restaurants in Tavira - most reasonably priced.

Perfect holiday destination for a peaceful relaxing time.

It is the perfect property for a family of 8.my niece and nephew loved the swimming pool much that it was was a struggle to get them out of it each day.the view at night time was very nice indeed.the bbq area beside the pool was perfect for lounging and entertaining.inside the house we had all the facilities that we could of possibly needed.i would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to travel to Tavira.

Lovely villa in beautiful unspoilt location

The villa was very spacious and the rooms beautifully decorated and furnished. Air conditioning in all rooms was very welcome. Villa was clean and regularly serviced (both pool and linen.) The location was in a quiet residential area. Supermarkets were approx. 15 minutes walk from the villa. Main attractions in Tavira are approx 25 minutes walk from the villa. Owners are very easy to communicate with and were extremely accommodating with arrival and departure arrangements. Welcoming and very reasonably priced local bar and also small restaurant (Bulgarian woman owner) about 15 minutes walk from villa.Lovely friendly staff at the Black Anchor in Tavira. Serving delicious food at a very resonable price - highly recommended.

Tavira itself is unspoilt and a delight to walk around. Would love to visit again.

Why Fay Clarke chose Tavira

The views are simply superb. The property is built on a slight hill with far reaching views in a quiet neighbourhood. We love sitting on the terrace, great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or simply enjoying a glass of vino and listening to the swallows or gazing at the sea view. The property also has the important quality for us that we can walk into town centre within minutes. The house is full of character, bright and spacious. We have named it 'Andorinha casa'.

Andorinha is the Portuguese name for swallow. We have always loved travelling to Portugal and fell in love with this small fishing town.

Tavira has a rustic charm with unique qualities. A laid back atmosphere and a simple lifestyle. Taking the boat to Tavira island beach is just one the highlight for our friends and family. We had the opportunity to buy our first property in Tavira 2005 and have been spending time as well as sharing with holiday makers.

What makes this villa unique

Elevated house with great sea views, a few minutes walk into the historic town centre of Tavira. Faro Airport is just 35 minutes drive to the villa...The nearest supermarket is approximately 10 minutes walk. There is a medical centre 15 minutes walk from the property which opens from 8-until midnight. Our villa faces south with fantastic views of the sea from all the room terraces. Traditional terracotta tiled flooring throughout with insects screens on each door and window. We can drive to Spain in 30 minutes. Perfect!

The nearest beach is a 25 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive at 'Forte Rato' beach, it is a small beach inlet where you can swim and sun bathe away from the crowd. There is also a delightful beach island that is only a 5 minutes boat ride from one of the regular ferry rides from Tavira town centre or you can take the quaint tourist train.

Water parks, zoo and Vilamoura marina is 45 minutes drive. The nearest golf course Benamour is 5 minutes drive.

Travel:

Approximately 35 minutes from Faro airport by car

Long term letting from November to March - minimum long term letting is 4 weeks at a discounted rate. (Please contact the owner for more details). We kindly request 25% non-refundable deposit on reservation, balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival, together with £250 fully refundable deposit. This deposit is refundable up to 7-14 days after your stay provided the following provisions are met:
1.No damage or loss is done to the property or contents
2.No linens are lost or damage
3.All keys are returned
4.No excessive cleaning
5.Remote controls are not damage or lost
6.All rubbish are discarded
7.No charges are incurred due to pets or extra guest staying without the owners permission
8.All charges for requested jobs accrued during your stay ie maid service are paid before departure
9.No guest has to be evicted by our management, owner or the local law enforcement
