Conway Cottage is a newly refurbished luxury 4 Star Gold Award 1st floor apartment situated in the heart of York. This self-catering first floor holiday apartment houses a bedroom with king size luxury pocket sprung bed and fitted furniture with ample storage. Fully fitted kitchen with washer, ceramic electric hob, electric oven, fridge-freezer, microwave and all items required for preparing and cooking needs, bathroom with shower and lounge with sofa, wide screen TV, DVD Blu-ray player and solid oak dining table.

With an extensive range of restaurants and attractions close by, Conway Cottage apartment is perfect for a city break and has free on-street parking along Wellington Street if you arrive by car. York train station has connections to all regions of the UK; London is only 2 hours away by train.

Conway Cottage is ideally located just 10 minutes walk from York city centre, 10 minutes from York University and 2 minutes to York's Barbican Theatre. Waitrose supermarket is a short 350 metres walk away, new Co Op supermarket 80 metres walk away.

Your host’s Adrian and Ann now live 13 miles away but we have lived in York for 17 years, we can offer you our recommendations for our local quality restaurants and what to see and do in York. Unfortunately we do not accept children under ten or any pets.

After farming for 35 years in Yorkshire we wanted a change, we thought running a Guest House in York would suite our friendly nature, we sold our Guest House in February 2017 and now concentrate on Conway Cottage

Well situated close to the ancient walls, this beautifully appointed luxurious apartment provided everything required for a city break. Close to good restaurants and within easy walking distance of most of the city's attractions, Conway Cottage left you wanting for nothing. We were greeted well by the owner Adrian who gave an excellent summary of local attractions and eateries. Our five day stay was made so much better by having made Conway Cottage our choice

Clean, comfortable and welcoming

The flat was ideally positioned in order to discover York by foot. The owners had gone to considerable trouble to make us feel welcome eg a vase of flowers, a tray of sweets and essentials in the fridge and food cupboard.

The only draw back was that parking was not necessarily possible directly outside the flat which was difficult for loading and unloading the car.

Small, central and a nice home away from home.

We were able to walk to most attractions, lots of pubs in easy walking distance, simple instructions to follow. We really enjoyed herself.

Perfect stay!

Really enjoyed our stay at Conway Cottage. The flat had everything we needed. Really quiet, lovely cosy feel. Bed was very comfortable and flat was equipped with everything we needed. York was amazing. Would love to go back and stay at the cottage again. Straight forward arrangements to get keys and brilliant location easy walking distance to all the attractions.

Best location, great hospitality and very comfortable

We highly recommend this property if you are a couple and want somewhere special to stay in York! This apartment is just outside the old city walls of York. It's less than 10 minutes' walk to the heart of the city (The Shambles and York Minster etc). There is a supermarket two minutes walk away and slightly further to some good restaurants - we really liked Toto (Italian). We had a car and Adrian the apartment owner, who runs a B&B next door, very kindly made sure we always had a parking space. Access in and out of York is easy if you want to drive off for the day to Fountains Abbey, Castle Howard or Scarborough - as we did.

The apartment itself is lovely, it has a well appointed kitchen, good bathroom, comfortable living room and a beautiful bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Spotless through out. Lots of nice touches to make you feel at home. If you are planning a visit to York just book this place!

A nice apartment steps away from the city walls of York

The apartment was just outside the city walls of York and about a 10 minute walk into the city center. The Barbican Gate was just a couple of minutes walk away along with a large food store. The apartment was clean and well appointed to include new carpets. It had a full kitchen and the internet work flawlessly. The bedroom was large and the bed comfortable. The apartment is off a busy street but we really did not any street noise. Our host was friendly and went out of his way to give us good local restaurant recommendations away from the tourist zone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the apartment and the people we met in York. My wife and I would recommend staying here again.

You are welcome to arrive before 2pm to leave your luggage, in some situations we may be able to have your room available by 1pm.
Conway Cottage parking is on the cul-de-sac.
Conway Cottage is a totally smoke free environment.
Children over 10 years old are welcome but only two people maximum in our apartment.
Cancellation and Insurance: Once you have booked your stay, we require a 25% deposit, balance due within 60 days of arrival, our agreement is a legal contract.
If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. If we are able to re let the apartment we will refund the balance less admin costs, we suggest travel insurance.
Breakage and Damages
We reserve the right to charge for any breakage or damage to Conway Cottage and its contents, we do not usually charge for small breakages.
Conway Cottage is a totally non smoking establishment, smoking in Conway Cottage will incur a minimum 100.00 G.B.P. charge.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
