Lovely cosy cottage with walks from the door

The cottage is a beautifully converted cowshed. The owners have a beautiful eye for detail. A lovely welcome hamper awaited us. The log fire was set. We could walk from the door and Matlock is an interesting place to visit. Any small problems were quickly attended to.

Weekend retreat

We decided to escape London for the weekend and came across this lovely property online. We were welcomed with a wonderful hamper of local produce and quickly made ourselves at home in the cosy living room. Anna has a real flare for interiors and the space has been well considered. We went for a long walk on the first day up to the Heights of Abraham and found ourselves in a local pub for lunch the next day when the weather wasn't so good.

Doherty. Property was perfect for a get away

We spent 3 nights in this cottage and enjoyed every moment. We were blessed with reasonable weather but the owners made us really welcome. The cottage was clean and well stocked with the necessities. The wood burner was a treat! There are many walks around this area - many from the cottage itself. Easy access to Chatsworth House and matlock.

Perfect location for just pottering - or more strenuous walks.

Very comfortable cottage - ideal for 2.

Go - and enjoy yourselves.

Fantastic little place to stay

The cow shed is a great place to stay if you want something a little different.

It is clean and tidy and well presented. There is a road a few yards outside but you only get a few cars passing so its very quiet.

A log burner is the main heating which warms the place very quickly.

The kitchen has all the mod cons you would need, the shower room/toilet is not big but then it dosen't need to be. The rain shower was great.

The owners are helpful and friendly and have lots of info on the local area, where to eat/visit etc.

We hope to return soon.
