House and Apartment in Penally, Nr. Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Close to beaches, a traditional pub and village shop, two golf courses and scenic Tenby.

Penally is a quaint village with 15th century church, village shop, traditional pub, country house restaurant and easy access to beaches and two excellent golf courses (Tenby and Trefloyne).

The large open plan kitchen and dining area is an excellent family space for cooking and eating with spectacular views of the sea. The sitting room, also with sea views, has sky TV, PS3 and there is fibre broadband throughout the property. The children’s room upstairs has a sofa with additional children’s TV with freesat.

The house has two bathrooms, one with walk-in shower and one with shower over the bath.

The house has its own balcony for outdoor dining overlooking the sea with views over the historic Tenby golf course. The garden is an excellent play space for children with patio, BBQ and dining area (to be shared with the self-contained apartment if in use).

The house has off-street parking for 3 standard cars and lots of on-street parking.

Tenby town centre with shops, restaurants and other activities is a walk along the beach or a very short train journey (3 minutes) from Penally station, a few minutes walk from the house.

The optional self contained apartment is directly under the main house and has its own entrance, kitchen and sitting room with freesat.

We arrived at our property after quite a long but uneventful journey. We found the property very clean and presentable complete with a lovely welcome hamper including a bottle of wine. The property was bigger than we expected with a lovely view of the sea , golf course, And Caldey Island.

There is a nice welcoming pub within 200yds that do very nice meals if needed. A walk through the golf course takes you onto the beach and a nice walk into Tenby (about half an hour) .

All in all a very nice apartment that we would be please to visit again and heartily recommend to friends.

Beautiful and peaceful holiday home

A good location.

We had a lovely short break in the apartment at Penally. (The welcome 'hamper' was much appreciated.)

The property was clean and comfortable with FANTASTIC views of the coast and the surrounding area. It is in a good location from which to explore the local area whether on foot or by car, bus or train. It is a short walk to the nearest beach and within easy reach of Tenby.

Our one minor criticism would be the lack of cooking equipment in the kitchen; as there is no grill pan or baking tray, to use in the oven, and no microwave it was difficult to heat up food.

However, we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Spent a perfect week in the apartment as a family of 3 including 1 four year old. Great location, both in terms of access to Penally and Tenby but also South Pembrokeshire. Highly impressed with the fantastic range of beach items and garden toys available to use. Beautiful views from apartment which has all the facilities you need.

From the Owner

We fell in love with Pembrokeshire and the Tenby area, which is walkable or accessed via a single line two carriage train. From London it is much easier to access than Cornwall as its motorway nearly all the way and we avoid A303 traffic. Penally beach even at peak season is not busy so going to the beach late doesn't mean you can’t find somewhere for a large family. Nature walks, surfing and lots of children’s activities like Heatherton are all very close by.

Special interest holidays:

Lovely coastal walks along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, easily accessible direct from the property, and other rural walks elsewhere in the National Park.

Plenty of children's activity options close by including Heatherton World of Activities, Folly Farm, wonderful castles at Manorbier and Pembroke and the Blue Lagoon fun pools at Bluewater.

Watersports and surfing are available within a short drive including numerous attractive beach options all along the coast.


South beach (between Penally & Tenby) is 10 minutes on foot with children and carrying beach stuff.


4 hours drive from London, 2.5 hours from Bristol and 2 hours from Cardiff by car.

There is also a train service from London, via Cardiff to the local Penally station.


5 minute drive to Tenby or 3 minutes by train from Penally station.

Further Details:

Penally is close to Tenby, an attractive walled town with iconic harbour, providing shops, restaurants, bars and clubs, an excellent local museum and various water sports and activities including boat trips to Caldey Island.

  • Notes on accommodation: The house and apartment can be rented separately or together and can accommodate large families. Additional single truckle and sofa beds are available. The comfortable configuration across both properties would be 6 adults, 5 children and two babies. Outside: The garden and drive is shared with the apartment, as is the downstairs patio, garden furniture and BBQ. The upstairs balcony belonging to the house has a separate dining area not shared with the apartment.
