About the property

The Victorian Gardens

The Victorian Gardens at Cressbrook Hall is a group of three cottages surrounding a central courtyard just beside Cressbrook's original Victorian walled garden - where we still grow flowers and vegetables for the Hall. Available singly, or as a group, The Old Tractor Shed, Top Spot and High Spy offer a perfect balance of traditional feel and modern features such as ceramic hobs, microwaves, dishwashers, and flat panel TVs - perfect for large family gatherings or reunions at any time of the year. Top Spot and High Spy share a large terrace with magnificent views along the Wye Valley, and all the cottages are perfectly located for a wonderful Peak District holiday.

About Mrs Bobby Hull-Bailey

Bobby Hull-Bailey and her husband bought Cressbrook Hall in the late 1970s and began a programme of restoration of the Hall, gardens and estate buildings which has now resulted in this truly unique place in which to enjoy a Peak District holiday. The family still live at the Hall, and remain intimately involved with the life of the estate and all its guests.

Why Mrs Bobby Hull-Bailey chose Derbyshire Dales

Any visitor to Cressbrook Hall will know immediately why the Hull-Bailey family chose to make their home here. The house and estate occupies one of the most privileged locations in one of the most beautiful regions of the UK. The house was originally built by a wealthy mill owner who has likewise fallen in love with the spectacular, almost Alpine, views down the Wye valley.

What makes this cottage unique

Come to Cressbrook Hall and you will share in a wonderful Peak District secret: a hidden valley with no main road passing close by, but with all the good things in life close at hand. If you enjoy outdoor pursuits, gentle or adventurous, and a peaceful, traditional environment to hang up your boots at the end of the day, then come you have found your perfect accommodation.
