Perfect base for a family holiday, much of Scotland can be reached on day trips, however there is nothing more enjoyable than relaxing in the luxurious space and tranquility that is Locherside Farm.

Flexible sleeping arrangements to suit all varieties of groups or mixed families. Luxurious Supering or twin beds, real cots and fun children's beds.

Any adventurous child will love the garden and it's secret pathways hidden amongst the mature rhododendrons, hedgerows and juvenile trees.

There is a hidden play area at the top of the garden tucked away behind a screen of shrubbery.....this is due to be replaced by July 2016.....our team of young designers are at the heart of planning stage, after all it's for the kids not us adults. The grown ups can laze on the lush lawn or sit comfortably on the decking over looking the kids play, if the weather is not as favourable as you would like you can still chuck them out and watch them from behind the double glazed doors in the family room which over looks the decking and family garden. This is a lovely peaceful option for a lazy morning!

The Farm house is part traditional farmhouse part renovated farm buildings located in a fabulously convenient part of Scotland. Really! Just look at our reviews.

Locherside farm sits quietly surrounded by its own extensive gardens and land and adjoining farmland. It can easily be reached by car, train or plane, with Glasgow International airport , Johnstone train station and excellent road links (A737/M8)all less than 10 minutes away. Please be assured however that there is very limited airtraffic and road noise due to the flights paths and position of the house.

The house is unique in that it provides a perfect base to explore Scotland as a whole. It provides the best of both worlds located in the quiet countryside but Lochs, Glens, Monroes, Beaches, Locherside farm is unique in that it provides a perfect base to explore Scotland as a whole. It provides the best of both worlds located in the quiet countryside but is such a short and easy journey to the highlights of Glasgow city, and is so easily accessed all year. It's a relaxing rural treat, perfect for family get togethers and children of all ages. There is something for everyone within a stones through, we really are spoiled with the location. Parks, golf, horse riding, skiing, fishing, boating, ferry links to the Isles are all reachable in around 45 mins drive, many within 20-30 mins, including a very easily accesible city center in under half an hour.

Walkers and cyclists can enjoy the sustrans link networks and the access to them only a 3 minute walk from the house. We are surrounded by easy to reach national parkland too. The nearest pub can be found less than a mile away as well as a large co-op shop and supermarkets and further eating less than 10 mins away.

The House very comfortably sleeps up to 12 plus two infants.

The 4 bedrooms sleep up to 10 (2 bedrooms on each side of the house) 2 can sleep on a sofa bed in the 2nd living room/ 5th bedroom bringing the total sleeping capacity to 12. Plus there are 2 cots available above this, one foldable travel cot and one real wooden cot, happy babies mean happy holidays.

Living space is plentiful offering 2 large reception rooms, equipped with large comfortable sofas TV / DVD / WIFI / DOCKING STATION / BOOKS / TOYS / GAMES.

The country style kitchen comes fully equipped with a deluxe 4 oven AGA , large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and of course everything needed for cooking up a feast!

There are 2 bathrooms one on each side of the house, the first is fitted with double shower, bath, sink and loo and the second is fitted with a large double power shower, his and hers sinks and a loo.

Little people visiting Locherside farm are well catered for too with real cot, choice of 3 high chairs, plentiful amounts of toys, books & DVDs, night lights, baby bath, non slip bath mat plus steps and a potty too! We are also hoping to completely replace the childrens outdoor play area for mid 2016.

We also really appreciate peoples thoughts and ideas to make it more fun for kids.....although we won't provide games consoles, our aim is to get your kids out in the fresh air and well exercised ready for a good night's sleep so Mum and Dad can relax in the evening.

Trusted babysitters can be arranged also , please phone for details.

Well behaved adult dogs "may" also be accepted on request but an additional deep cleaning fee of £30 will apply to ensure the house is suitable for other guests who may suffer with allergies. We would also ask that they remain out of the bedrooms and the family garden, there is a dog friendly and secure garden immediately to the back of the house and will make cleaning up easier as the other gardens are quite large, and not dog proof. It is imperative to remember the rules of the country side with dogs and live stock, Farmer's are well within their rights to 'deal' with any dog chasing ANY livestock, it's grim I know but we must warn our future guests.

Locherside Farm is owned by the Jennings family who lived in the house until 2014 before Daddy Jennings work took the family down south.

After a short while being rented out on a long term basis, it was decided that Locherside farm should get a makeover and be rented out as a holiday let.

Therefore our own young family still get to go 'home' and enjoy the freedom and space it has to offer.

We hope our guests enjoy Locherside farm as much as we do.

Why megan Jennings chose Scotland

Locherside farm attracted us because of it's unique location. We loved the fact that we had a spacious country property surrounded by working farm land to give our children the country upbringing I enjoyed, but also keeping in the loop and having everything we could ever need or want on our doorstep.

Not only are the social amenities all close to hand, but we are totally spoiled with just how much of Scotland we can reach within an hour.

There are few places that offer the peace and quiet of the country but remain so close to literally everything.

Access into Glasgow is not like accessing London, drive less than 2 miles to the A737

There are few places that offer the peace and quiet of the country but remain so close to literally everything.

Access into Glasgow is not like accessing London, drive less than 2 miles to the A737 , it merges into the M8 which runs through the middle of Glasgow unlike most city ring roads, meaning you can get into the city centre in as little as 20 mins, although we usually allow 30.

We are currently down in Surrey approximately 30 miles from London,it takes 2-3 hours to get into London city! Although we are in a rural area we have to allow 4x travel time per mile than that of driving in Scotland.

It's so very convenient to have all the beauty of the country side around you and in the evening choose between country pub, takeaway(delivered) or a fab night in such a cultured city as Glas

As a company we are obligated to ensure the welfare of our employee's especially where their accommodation is concerned when working away from home. Hotels and B&B for long term stays are not good for moral; the alternative option is renting a holiday let.

The property has easy access to Glasgow in a beautiful location it also has secure parking for our large vehicles. Facilities for our employees were modern, spacious, clean, warm and welcoming. The welcome pack and local amenities guide were well received. This is a premier holiday let, if you’re thinking of booking for 2016 I'd book now

Seven adults and two dogs stayed in this beautiful farmhouse over Christmas. The house was decorated perfectly when we arrived, such a lovely touch. The house is very spacious and has everything that you could ever want. Perfect location if you are wanting to visit Glasgow or Edinburgh. Local coop shop is a 5 minute drive away though I did opt to have Sainsbury's home deliver. Weather wasn't great so we relied on the local taxi firm to get us into the local village, great service. We really could not fault anything about the house or location. We will be back, hopefully next time in the summer so that we can enjoy the beautiful garden and surrounding area.

Amazing Family Holiday home!

I cannot wait to return to this holiday home again with my family. The house and location was beautiful with stunning scenery out of every window. The children in the family had a great time and the house was exceptional for catering to all there needs. Travel cots, potty's , high chairs and a baby bath was all on site, and a great toy cupboard the children loved to rummage through. The house itself was very clean and modern with a beautiful log burner. I cannot wait to return next year.

Wonderful memories!

With party of 12 that included a toddler, two kids and two senior citizens, finding a comfortable place was a challenge . But in Locherside farm, we found a perfect place - spacious, well led out rooms & immaculately maintained facilities. Easy to find and very convenient to reach key motorway meant we could manage many day trips very effectively.

Check in and out was smooth and local shops were useful to restock anything at short notice. Thanks Megan for a pleasant experience.

Perfect

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. The house was perfect for us and had everything we needed. 2 couples, 3 kids and 5 single people and we still felt like we had plenty of room. The surrounding garden was also beautiful and it was nice to feel like we were away from all the busyness of life. Will definitely book again if we are ever in the area.

Outside: Large private gardens the main one is very large with mature shrubs and trees ensuring privacy all round, it is equipped with decking furniture and BBQ. A smaller secure dog garden can be found to the rear and a wilderness field for children (strictly no dogs in wilderness field). Locherside farm is surrounded by farmland. Utility Room: A large utility room not only provides access to the rear "dog secure" garden, but also is fitted out well with plenty of space for muddy boots and coats. You will also find a modern washing machine, tumble dryer and cleaning equipment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Hotel quality towels and linen are provided for up to 12 guests. Regrettably flannels and cot linen and blankets cannot be catered for due to the linen service used. This is a self catering house and cleaning during the stay is the guests responsibility.
