Notes on accommodation: Secluded, Views of Lake Windermere, 15 Minute Walk to Bowness 5 Minute Drive. Outside: The House stands in half an acre of private garden. The garden has a sun terrace, summerhouse and garden furniture, perfect for al-fresco living. Cleaning / Towels / Linen Cleaning is undertaken at the end of your stay,towels and linen are provided. Accommodation is to be left tidy on departure. A deposit is required to be paid at time of the booking and will be refunded in full or part depending on the Housekeepers findings. Other: Formal dining room perfect for dinner parties with view of the lake.

Fantastic property.....highly recommend!

We had a fantastic week long stay here in October. This beautiful property was as described and just perfect for our large family aged between 6 months and 55!! It was very homely, provided everything we needed for our stay and ideally located......we were so lucky with the weather and walked in to Windermere most days. Beverley was most helpful throughout the booking process. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful holiday lodge overlooking Windermere.

Very well equipped holiday home with lovely gardens in beautiful part of the lake district. House suited having 3 teenagers as was spacious and very comfortable. Booking and arranging the holiday was straightforward. Lots to do in Bowness and the surrounding area. We found hiring a boat at Low Wood Bay watersport centre and kayaks at Fell Foot park very good as these were at either end of the lake and were generally quieter. Good selection of shops and restaurants.

We would thoroughly recommend the property to friends or relatives.

50th birthday treat

Fantastic traditional property. Spent one week with family and friends. The house and lovely gardens was a perfect base for chilling and fully equipped with everything you need. Great location for exploring and lots to do in the area.

A PEACEFUL AND RELAXING WEEK AT STORRS LODGE

The tea and cake tray was most welcome after a long drive. The house is exactly as described on the website; it is very well equipped, clean and well maintained with any suprises being good ones. The house is in a quiet situation with lovely views and interesting walks close by. It is not far from the popular resort of Bowness from where we enjoyed cruises on Lake Windermere - great for keeping the children interested and for visits to the Acquarium, the Motor Museum and the Heritage Steam Railway. We did have a problem with the internet, but a call to Beverley had a man out within a few hours. He worked hard to find the external fault and put it right; very good same day service which did not detract in any way from the enjoyment of our holiday.

I would certainly recommend a stay at Storrs Lodge to family and friends with or without children. A memorable holiday.

Accommodation for eight adults

In the main the accommodation was spacious. Three of the bedrooms were more than adequate for adults, however, the fourth bedroom was suitable mainly for children since there was a lack of space for two adults to move around in with no wardrobe and limited shelving for clothes.

This did not spoil our holiday.

The owner was most welcoming providing tea, biscuits and cakes on our arrival. The accommodation was clean and tidy on arrival. The kitchen had a good supply of crockery, pans and utensils though a little on the narrow side which is a surprise since lounge and dining room are spacious.

Storrs Lodge is in a wonderful setting with views over the lake down below. However, it is just short of a mile into the centre of Bowness. Though this is an easy walk for reasonably fit adults it can be demanding for those with walking difficulties especially up Meadowcroft Lane on the way back.

The property has ample room for 4 medium to large cars and would probably cater for more small cars.

It would have been helpful if an information booklet was readily available on the coffee table giving details of refuse collection, fuse box, etc. we had to search for one in a cabinet.

More comprehensive details on how to find the property would be helpful since it is situated a little out of the way. There are many bars, restaurants, cafes in Bowness for those who like dining out. There are no shortage of places to visit in and around Bowness and Winderemere.

In conclusion we thoroughly enjoyed our stay blessed with fine Spring weather.
