Villa in Montgo, Javea, Costa Blanca North, Spain - Peaceful Location

Set in Javea’s premier location at the top of the exclusive Montgo mountain area the villa and detached apartment delivers first class accommodation, in total peace and seclusion, offering unrivalled views yet is only a few minutes / 2 miles away from Javea's lovely old town. The beaches, port and many other activities Javea has to offer (including its 344 restaurants & bars) are also right on your door step but cannot be seen or heard from the Villa! This very beautiful and traditional villa is huge (460m2) and has recently been refurbished and refurnished to a very high standard adding all the facilities you would expect from a high class accommodation. It sits at the top of the exclusive development at the foot of the Montgo mountain and is surrounded by 3,000m of sloping Mediterranean private gardens with panoramic views from the Mediterranean sea across the valley to distant mountains.

The World Health organisation recommended the climate of the area as one of the most equitable in the world - neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in the winter. On average it can boast 325 sunny days each year making it an ideal all year round destination.

One of the most impressive features of the property is the 10m pear-shaped heated swimming pool, built in a beautiful natural ravine, with four large and separate sun terraces. It is surrounded by natural mountain rocks and fully stocked garden contains 100's of colorful shrubs and flowers. The backdrop from the property is the national park and stunning Montgó mountain. The 2m circular Jacuzzi pool is built in a hollow in the mountain rocks sitting above the pool. Guests tell me they can sit in it and watch the leaves unfold on the banana tree beside it!

The owners have created a complete summer environment at the garden level, including a superbly equipped kitchen (fully equipped to an excellent standard of you like to cook and entertain whilst doing so), top quality kitchen / cooking facilities are all provided (including a filter coffee machine and Nespresso machine, just bring your own capsules). A lounge and bar area, a separate indoor dining room, a large al-fresco shaded dining terrace with a table big enough for 14 people and a huge barbecue big enough to roast a whole lamb. This gives guests the advantage of several very different environments to enjoy, rather than just the more normal 'pool holiday'.

In addition to the main villa accommodation, there is a detached family apartment which can be rented for larger groups. This provides an extra 2 bedrooms, huge living living space, second kitchen and two more bathrooms

On one level an attractive and spacious games room (including cinema experience 65' Sony 4K TV, full surround sound, blue ray / dvd player, collection of over 200 blue rays / DVD's, Sony play station 3 and 20+ games plus lots more), separate rustic kitchen, separate toilet / shower room. Games room leads to the apartments naya containing two sofas and a new slate bed pool table. Naya leads to huge terrace with seating for 20 or more and outstanding views of the Mongo mountain, valley and sea to the distance. Antique double gate opens to lower (main villa) terrace containing heated pool and Jacuzzi etc.

On the (separate entrance) lower level is a huge family suite (containing four poster bed, additional day bed, ensuite shower room including walk in shower, wc, built in washing machine). There are two doors opening onto a separate terrace that leads to fruit garden and then steps up to pool terrace from the main villa.

Note this room rented at an additional cost of £495 per week as indicated in the prices for parties of more than 10. It is however included in the price for bookings for the peak summer period

In the gardens, there are the lovely Spanish plants of jasmine, bougainvillea, geranium, hibiscus, lavender, lantana and many others. Much of the plot is left to the natural plants of the area such as carob and olive trees, rosemary, thyme, wild orchids, cactus and mountain palms. Another slope is planted with many Mediterranean shrubs, plus orange, lemon, grapefruit, fig, mango, avocado and nispero trees.

I just want to say how much we enjoyed our holiday in your lovely and relaxing villa. I could go on about all the thing we did and places we went to in and around Javea, but actually sitting in the Jacuzzi watching leaves unfurl on the banana tree is one of the highest on my list memories!

Notes on accommodation: Near sea, port and old town Outside: The pool pear-shaped, 10m long, and is built in a natural ravine surrounded by rocks and gardens, with a backdrop of the Montgo mountain behind and glorious Southern views. A 2m circular Jacuzzi pool (unheated) is built in a hollow in the mountain rocks. Two sun terraces are equipped with eight sun-loungers and four large umbrellas. There is an exterior dining terrace with a large shaded dining table and benches with lighting for evening meals and a huge BBQ (capable of cooking a whole lamb). The villa was built to a traditional design about 50 years ago, on a 3,000m plot on the low slopes of the Montgo mountainside with spectacular views from a glimpse of the Mediterranean across the Javea valley to the hills and distant mountains on the other side. The garden contains many Mediterranean plants and palm tress, plus orange, lemon, grapefruit, fig, mango, avocado and nispero trees, with some of the plot given over to the fragrant and natural plants of the area. Utility Room: Washing machine, hand-washing sink, iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels are provided and changed weekly. A full cleaning is made on each change-over, and a light cleaning of the main living areas is made weekly for longer lets. Other: In addition to the substantial designer kitchen on the garden level, there is also a covered lounge area with easy seating, a breakfast bar, satellite TV, a dining room for less-clement weather and access to the outside dining terrace.

Perfect for a family gathering

8 adults and 7 young children stayed in this idyllic property to celebrate a " special " birthday. The facilities and location matched the expectations generated by the villa description and visitor reviews. The available space meant we were never on top of each other. The amenities of Xabia are close at hand though it is all too easy to laze by the beautiful pool . I would unhesitatingly recommend this villa.

Look no further !!

The pictures on the site look good but the villa, apartment and huge outside areas are so much better and bigger than we anticipated. My wife and I stayed here with our three children and our friends with their four! This is the first time we've all been away together and not stayed in a hotel, so we were a little concerned. We needn't have worried as staying here was like staying in your own 5 star boutique hotel.

Both properties are furnished to an exceptional standard. The facilities inside and out are equally impressive with wireless music systems in many rooms, 100's of books and DVD's to chose from and an array of toys for children and adults. There are three huge and separate terraces to chose to relax on; the outside dinning area which is nice and shaded, the pool and jacuzzi enormous setting, and the apartments terrace (the adults favourite that looks up to the national park and mountain backdrop that really is like a film set and down across the savanna to the sea in one direction and mountains to the other).

Truly wonderful villa in amazing location and grounds. We've never been to Javea before and will almost certainly return as it's fantastic place for a big family like ours, great restaurants and bars at the beech and port areas and exceptional peace and quiet at this huge and wonderful villa. When we come back we will book this villa, it's perfect. Close enough to all the attractions of Javea but situated far enough way for views to die for and total peace and quiet

WOW, what a fantastic place. The Villa is amazing, such a large space and with everything you need to make it a comfortable stay.

The pool area was a huge hit with the kids and we spent many hours enjoying splashing around whilst taking in the fabulous views. It's close enough to the wonderful town of Javea with so many great restaurants and a lovely beach thats great for small children. However it's far enough away to appreciate the peace and quite of this beautiful mountain location. Truly was the best of both worlds and we are already booked again for 2017.

Absolutely stunning villa - fantastic holiday

It was a real pleasure to stay in this villa, it has everything you could possibly need in a beautiful setting. There were 3 generations of us (12 in total) ranging from 4 to 80 and plenty room for all of us. The pool and Jacuzzi are great, the house has plenty of traditional features with modern equipment and bathrooms. The gardens are beautiful and sitting in the outside area in the evening you could be on the balcony of a luxurious hotel. Just relaxing in the villa was wonderful, and there were games, pool and darts for the kids (and adults), a great book and DVD collection and a fantastic kitchen and bbq. We hired a car and visited the local area and beaches, plenty of restaurants in town and near by. The villa is on a steep hill, but if you are OK with the walk there are a number of good restaurants on the road at the bottom. I would highly recommend staying here - it even nicer than the pictures.

The sandy beach area - the Arenal - is less than 10 minutes away by car, and is an arc of wide sand flanked by a long promenade of shops, bars and restaurants. In the Javea port area there is a popular pebble beach, connected to the Arenal by a pebble and rocky coast along which, in the summer, 5 or 6 chiringuitos (beach bars) spring up. They are enormously popular, serving wine, beer and cocktails to the sound of the sea just meters away. There are also several other small, beautiful coves.


Javea - locally called Xabia - is equidistant from Alicante airport and Valencia airport, approximately 80 minutes away (120km). Car hire is available at both airports and locally in Javea. A car is essential at the villa and there is a well-managed radio taxi service throughout the area.


The town has three distinct centres forming a triangle and each about a kilometre from the others; the pueblo old town (less than 10 minutes by car), the port and the Arenal beach. It has all the services of a modern and cosmopolitan town, with a wide variation of beach, sports and cultural facilities carefully blended within the spirit of the original town. There is a major shopping centre at Ondara (about 20 minutes) with all the usual fashion houses and a C&A.

As you would expect, there are a great many excellent restaurants and bars in the area, and some of them are featured in our welcome pack.

There are three good restaurants nearby - literally, at the bottom of the road! One of them is amongst the best in Javea, El Gaucho, specialising in excellent steaks and meat. The other two offer excellent meals-of-the-day cuisine, and are hugely popular and will be happy to cook you excellent paella to take away (we recommend Restaurant Montgo's paella).

Javea is is a jewel on the Costa Blanca, combining great natural beauty and modern facilities with the charm of ancient fishing port, a traditional Spanish village, golden sandy beaches, rugged mountain areas, unspoiled coastal regions, wonderful walking routes, a mild year-round climate, delicious cuisine, extensive tourist facilities and many sport and leisure facilities. It has avoided the high-rise hotels and apartment blocks that have blighted so many of the Spanish coastal towns, yet - or maybe because of this - it has thriving tourist trade, attracting the more discerning holiday makers.

A 30% deposit is required to secure your reservation. The balance is payable 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. A damages deposit of £650 is due on payment of the balance.
The 6th Bedroom (family suite in the detached apartment) is available for larger groups at an additional fee of £450 per week. This very big room contains a four poster bed, additional double day bed, privacy folding screening, ensuite, has a separate entrance as well as two doors to a separate terrace

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday, flexible in Low Season. Guests must vacate by 10.00am and arrivals no earlier than 4.00pm so that the cleaning can be completed. There is a 24 hour key pick-up service, and details will be provided on payment of the balance.

Minimum stay is 7 days, but we can be flexible in Low Season.
