Our First floor apartment The Eden's Retreat sleeps four with two double bedrooms and is excellently located just outside the city wall in York by Micklegate. Beautifully furnished to a high standard and offering comfortable accommodation it is the perfect base for your break away in York City. All the sites of York and the many restaurants and bars are easily reached by foot as is York Race Course and York Railway Station. The City wall is just around the corner where you can wander around the City and view the Minster in all its glory. Micklegate is the perfect street for wandering into York with its many shops, bars and cafes.

I live in Essex with my Husband and our cat Midi. My husband and I both work, but like to spend a lot of our time in York where we can visit our daughter and two grandchildren and enjoy being close to the city centre.

Why cathy jane newman chose York

We love York because its a fantastic city and of course our daughter and her family live here.There is such a great range of facilities in York and we are close to all the bars and restaurants and many of the great sites like The Minster and the National Railway museum. There really is something for everyone here.

What makes this apartment unique

The flat is easily accessible with York Railway station 5 mins away so no need for a cab when arriving by train. Parking is easy too in the next street along. We love the fact that we can just walk around the corner and we can enjoy breakfast in one of the cafes or lunch down by the river in one of the lovely outside bars or cafes. We enjoy leaving the car for the weekend and walking everywhere.

Cosy and convenient

Very convenient for both the station (5 minute walk) and the city centre. Shops, restaurants and even a cinema within 5 minutes walking distance. Well appointed flat.

Neat and fully equipped

Perfectly placed to walk York and take the open air bus tour. Mini supermarket round the corner and loads and loads of restaurants within walking distance make this place perfect for parking the car and forgetting it or take the train to York as the station is just round the corner. Bedrooms are quiet so don’t worry about city noise, I never heard a thing!

Lovely apartment in a good location

Really enjoyed our stay at Eden's Retreat in York. Well appointed and very clean apartment with everything you need to cook if you want. Just a short walk into the centre of York and plenty restaurants and a handy Sainsbury's nearby.

The owner Cathy was really accommodating and helpful throughout and I found it very easy to communicate with her.

Would definitely recommend staying here if you are going to York.

The flat was in an excellent location for all amenities. There plenty of takeaways and pubs near by, there is also a small shop nearby. The flat itself was lovely and well set out with everything you could need.

A 30% deposit is payable at time of booking with the balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival. If booking is less than 6 weeks away payment must be paid in full. There is a 3 night minimum stay at weekends.

Weekly bookings from Friday to Friday Mid week bookings from Monday to Friday 4 nights and weekend bookings from Friday to Monday 3 nights are all available but can be flexible on some dates.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
