Westfield Granary is the perfect family bolthole for a fabulous relaxing week away or for a special celebration. The former Granary is kitted out with all the essentials for a memorable gathering.

The newly refurbished spacious glazed kitchen with centre island opens out onto a west facing patio and newly landscaped secluded garden. Sit back and take it easy in the Granary’s living room with a newly installed toasty log burner and generous supply of logs, enjoy family meals in the large dining area and sleep soundly in six traditional upstairs bedrooms with 3 bathrooms.

Children will love the freedom of the outdoor space, with a swing-set, slides and football goalposts. As the Granary backs onto our paddock and farmland, there’s also plenty of wildlife and animals, including guinea fowl, geese, chickens and turkeys, for youngsters to see.

There’s a well-equipped games room, with TV, table tennis, pool and darts, and wood-burning stove. Two hot tubs make the outdoor decking area the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a full day of adventure which is now adjoined by a newly landscaped private garden and west facing patio.

Westfield Granary, which stands adjacent to our family farmhouse, is situated just half a mile away from the village of Sherburn.

Sherburn sits halfway between the market town of Malton and the seaside town of Scarborough, in the Vale of Pickering. The Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail long-distance footpath runs just south of Westfield Granary through our farmland, with wonderful wildlife, rolling hills to explore.

We’ve also installed a biomass burner to heat Westfield Granary and the games room, so we can ensure that the house is always warm with plenty of hot water.

A luxury five-star self-catering holiday accommodation, Westfield Granary can sleep 12/14 people.

Beautiful place,

Westfield is a lovely house, loads of room for large groups, it is sometimes a bit smelly as located near pig farm which brings with it lots of flies, but saying that we glad a brilliant time, 9 ladies away for the weekend . Hot tubs large and when up to heated up lovely, we had wonderful weather even though it was october and spent a lot of time outside. Kitchen is a real party room with a massive island in the middle ( makes a great cocktail bar) all just be refurbished. We were going to book again for 2017 but decided against it as price had gone up eye-wateringly this what she sent me

Sorry that the prices have increased considerably since your last stay. This is because we were in the process of leaving an agency and marketing the property ourselves. Therefore by trading at a reduced rate we increased our bookings and gained valued customers like yourself.

Well they have lost valued customers because it's not worth staying there at that excessive new price.

Owner's Response: I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Westfield Granary. Unfortunately being on a working farm next door to a pig unit the slight smell is unavoidable but this is not a regular problem and does depend on the weather and direction of the wind. As for the flies this year was a particularly bad year for flies however we have installed a fly zapper and lots of other pest control for this seasonal problem. As for the price increase I cannot apologise enough I feel awful. Unfortunately I quoted you the price of our other property which is considerably larger, Corner Farm, also advertised through Owners Direct. I am so sorry once again this is a massive mistake on my part. I hope we see you again in the near future.

Large spacious property suitable for family or friends of all ages

We had a family holiday with ages ranging from 2yrs to 64yrs. With the separate bedroom off the main house it gave privacy to one couple away from the younger children which they appreciated. Lots of space, very family friendly with the games room for the older members and the field with the swings, play house, trampoline etc for the little ones it was lovely. The hot tubs were a real bonus after a day out. The bbq gave us options for eating when the weather was good. Overall a really lovely house in a quiet area (car definitely) required and the owners were extremely helpful and friendly..

Having young ones but also having the games room it meant there was plenty to entertain ourselves with which our 20-30 yr old's loved.

One problem we encountered were the vast amount of flies that seemed to congregate in the kitchen (possibly a fly zapper could sort that problem?) however it would not stop us from going back again.

Unfortunately flies can be an unavoidable problem at certain times of the year however these deterrents seem to have been pretty effective for the rest of the summer. Stunning family get together house

On arrival we were so impressed with the property. Plenty of space in the living area, lots of comfy sofas and a cosy little area around the fire. The bedrooms were lovely and a perfect size for us all.

The kitchen was very well equipped although we did struggle a bit on storage space but that isn't a complaint because it meant that the owners had supplied us with every utensil possible, which makes a nice change. The sun is a tad blinding in the morning from the courtyard but we should not complain about the sun in England!! It was also handy having the extra fridge and freezer in the games room.

The games room was brilliant for adults and children (8 adults, 5 children). We had a pool tournament and it was nice to be able to shut off from the rest of the house and turn the music up and play games.

The hots tubs were a hit with everyone and the configuration was perfect. The small landscaped patio meant the little ones could play on the grass, others could sit at the table and others chill in the tub. Unfortunately the sauna wasn't used too much, maybe because you had to go out the front door to access it, but that's no real problem. The grounds were beautiful too. The children loved the play area and you could walk for miles up the hill.

The area was lovely (20 mins from Filey, Scarborough, 40mins to York and just a bit further to beautiful Whitby). It is situated on a main road but no noise could be heard at all. One thing I would suggest to the owners would be a small light over the sign as we really struggled to locate the turning on our way back in an evening and it is a fast moving road.

Overall, one of the best properties we have stayed in and a perfect family holiday home. All our family had a truly wonderful holiday and did not want to leave. I would like to thank Molly and her family for letting us stay in such beautiful house.

Excellent base for a family holiday

The property is beautiful, and so spacious and clean! We were a party of six adults, three children and two dogs and there was plenty of room for more.

The location is perfect for trips to Scarborough and Bridlington but away from hustle and bustle so that our evenings were peaceful and relaxed.

Any queries (mostly about food!) were answered quickly, but otherwise we barely saw the owners. This meant we felt like we were in our own home rather than someone else's.

A really great week, we shall definitely return!!

Weekend break with the family

A beautiful house. Spotlessly clean. Plenty of space and plenty of places to sit

Kitchen well equipped. We like to cook and there were plenty of pots ,pans etc

Bedrooms a decent size and comfy.

Outside had just been refurbished is very welcoming and a great place to sit and chillout. Two hot tubs and a sauna which helps after a hard days walking or just doing nothing around the house

Games room which is well equipped for rainy or energetic days. Outside plenty of space and safe for children.
