The cottage is even lovelier than we anticipated - so tastefully decorated and the pitched ceilings and expansive views give space for the soul to breath!

We've had a great week. Loved the house and appreciated all the special touches. The view from the living area was mesmerising. Saw lots of the island but the otters and seals at Armadale were special. Two pods of dolphins entertained us for over an hour one morning over breakfast......brilliant.

Enjoyed the beautiful views from the cottage and saw dolphins. Also saw lots of seals, walking along the shore just below the cottage. Driving around Skye we came to the conclusion that we had chosen the very best cottage! It s situation is very handy to get to all the different places.

Fantastic base for exploring Skye

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was immaculate and totally in keeping with the wonderful photos on the website. Christine gave us such as warm welcome and gave us tips throughout our stay on our ideas for exploring, and on events that were happening nearby. The Blazin' Fiddles gig down the road was absolutely amazing. The view from the lounge was mesmerising, and we could have stayed watching the ever changing view for ever. The clear skies that allowed us to watch the moon rising above the mountains across the water on an evening were an added bonus. We love this end of the island, and found it an ideal base for exploring. The co-op in Broadford was well stocked.

When we return to Skye, it will definitely be to this lovely cottage and Christine's warm hospitality.

Lovely luxury cottage in a stunning spot on Skye

  • 5 of 5

After a long drive it was lovely to arrive at the cottage to find a hamper full of goodies, which very much were symbolic of the thought and attention to detail in every part of Knoydart Cottage. Aside from the stunning views, the accommodation itself was inviting enough that we actually chose to spend one or two days of our vacation staying inside and cooking and watching movies and looking out at the view. Christine has thought of everything and the flowers and blankets and side tables and lamps really give you the feel of a 'home from home'. Impeccably clean and furnished to a very high standard, we would most certainly return. Incidentally, we would also recommend trying the Kinloch restaurant which is not far from the cottage where we had a fabulous tasting menu of a standard hard to rival. We stocked up on food in Glasgw but there are a couple of large Somerfields on Skye on the way to the cottage.

Having driven 12 hours you hope to arrive to a warm, comfortable, clean property and we did, with so much more. The cottage was well equipped throughout with everything you could possibly need; a generous and well thought out welcome grocery pack was provided on arrival; the beds were comfortable; heating was on and easy to use and Christine the owner was there to greet us. The views were beautiful and as good as they appear on the website which portrays the property very accurately. Skye is beautiful and Knoydart Cottage is a lovely and conveniently located base from which to explore it - we would happily recommend it to anyone and sincerely hope to return ourselves - a gem!
