Bishops Mews is a small modern courtyard development in the heart of Wells. The house is in the centre of Wells just a few minutes walk to main High Street, Cathedral, Bishops Palace and a variety of restaurants and shops. Wells is the smallest City in England and is steeped in history. Also a few minutes walk to countryside and many local walks and attractions. Cheddar, Glastonbury, Clarks Village Designer Outlet and open countryside with cycle routes nearby.

We recently bought this house with a view to our own occupancy in the future as we love Wells and all it has to offer. We would really like others to enjoy Wells and its surrounding areas before we move (ie retire there!)

We love this house as it is level walking distance to everything Wells has to offer. History, convenience of amenities, near open countryside, cinema. The house is in a quiet mews courtyard development.

My wife and I and our son stayed in Wells during May 2017. We really liked our stay in this apartment. We have stayed in many of the VRBO apartments over the last few years and this was among the best. Very well equipped, modern, clean comfortable, quiet and excellently located. Wells is a delight with many restaurants and things to do and see. We wished that we had more time to explore Wells. The apartment is perfectly located as it is very close to Main street and yet well separated and quiet. Other people have mentioned parking and we also had trouble fitting our car, but this was quickly handled by talking to the owner of a public parking area nearby.

Ideally situated and a large apartment.

Modern and up to date. Almost impossible to park a large car. We enjoyed our stay.

A lovely house located very centrally - perfect for attending a weekend wedding.

This is a really lovely home-from-home just off the High Street and yet very quiet and light. We went to Wells for a 3-day weekend for family members to attend a wedding at the Cathedral then the Bishop's Palace - for which this was perfect!

The allocated parking space is helpful, but it is quite tight and awkward to get in and out of while Mill Lane itself is also narrow and quite a challenge to navigate.

Local car parks provide a good option for a second (or just larger) car, however, and it is an easy walk to shops, cafes and restaurants.

We would definitely recommend this house and would happily return to Bishops Mews for future visits to Wells.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I advertise the property with a parking space for small to medium car size as it can be challenging to get into for larger vehicles. However Mill Lane itself is easily negotiable if you turn left out of the property to aviod the narrow bit to the right. Had a wonderful time in Wells with my sister and her husband. Wells is a fabulous place to visit.

The property is more than adequate for 4 adults being very spacious. It is in an ideal location to the centre of Wells but you didn't hear any noise from traffic etc. Tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped and wouldn't have a problem staying for a week there. Car parking space might be a bit tight for a 4 x 4 type of vehicle but our Ford Kuga which isn't exactly small, reversed in no problem. Would definitely stay again in this property. Wonderful.
