A quaint little cottage, right at the heart of Whitstable.

  • 5 of 5

We booked this cottage as we we're travelling by train and so needed to be within walking distance. On arrival we found the cottage to be spotlessly clean and we're pleased to find a welcome hamper of a few necessities (a feature that so many other places neglect to provide) had been provided. From the front windows a tiny slice of the sea is visible and on crossing the road you are straight on to the coast path and in the middle of town within minutes.

The cottage is very well equipped and though we chose to eat out you could quite easily enjoy cooking and eating in. The bedrooms were cosy and the beds super comfortable.

We did encounter a slight problem with a toilet that didn't flush but a quick call to Tracy, meant a plumber was very quickly organised. Unfortunately it couldn't be fixed until the next day but we were kept constantly updated and as there was a key available to the plumber it in no way effected our stay. The gift of wine and the offer to stay for the whole day on our departure day was very thoughtful.

All in all we loved our little stay in Rose Cottage and wouldn't hesitate to use it again or to recommend it to friends.

Cute and cosy

  • 4 of 5

Lovely cosy home, perfect location for the beach and main street. Lovely surprise of essentials hamper on arrival. As a garden lover the back garden could do with a tidy up. Would have no hesitation in going back.

Wonderful little fisherman's cottage

  • 5 of 5

What a fabulous little fisherman's cottage in an amazing location. We are a family of 5 adults and we rented Rose Cottage for 3 nights as we were attending a wedding. The location is brilliant: cross the road, past a row of houses and one is by the sea. We even went swimming!

The cottage is well appointed with everything one requires. The room at the top has a very comfortable double bed but the stairs are very narrow and steep so maybe not suitable for everyone. The middle floor has a twin room and the bathroom and on the ground floor there is a sitting room immediately one enters from the front door leading to a kitchen /diner. Outside there is a table, chairs and a bbq. The garden is full of trees, shrubs and flowers and does not have a lawn.

I think this house is more suited for 4 people rather than 5 or 6 as the sofa bed is adequate but the mattress isn't very thick. There is a camp bed as well so perhaps a family of 5 with younger children.

The cottage is very close to the famous Neptune Pub but not too near to hear any noise and one can go there or one can easily follow the path by the sea in the other direction to the harbour, or walk to the shops or pop into Sainsburys. Parking is a bit of an issue although there is a paying car park not far from the cottage.

Any queries we had were dealt with immediately.

The only thing I was sad about was that we couldn't stay longer and explore more.

Lovely weekend in Whitstable, the cottage was perfect and just as advertised - the only downside was the lack of parking.

Fantastic new year !!

  • 5 of 5

Rose cottage is a lovely place to stay for a break .

Great Location right next to the harbour .

Very clean and comfortable !!!

Nice welcome pack with a few essentials !!!

One thing I would say is don't get the cottage mixed up with

The smugglers cottage a few doors down .

As in the write up both sets of photos are together !!

Only a minor observation to point out !!

Would return again but maybe to the smugglers next time !
