About roger summers

We have lived in the area for 25 years, my wife was brought up in the area.

Why roger summers chose Blandford Saint Mary

We bought the property about 20 years ago and have spent years renovating the main house and the cottage. The rural aspect and closeness to town attracted us initially.

What makes this bungalow unique

We live next door, and are on hand to help if need be, but will give you privacy to enjoy your holiday.A car is not required for daily needs, but is recommended to explore further afield.

Perfect, pretty and cosy.

  • 5 of 5

A lovely little cottage warm and cosy, close to the town but quiet as anything! Great welcome from the friendly owners, We really appreciated the welcome pack with fresh bread, butter home made marmalade and all the other essentials. The cottage was spotless and furnished with really comfortable sofas and chairs. I would and have recommended this cottage to friends and family, its in a great position and lovely to stay in. Oh and 2 mins from the pub!

Delightful little cottage

  • 5 of 5

Firstly a very warm welcome from Roger and Jane with a tour of the cottage and garden. All very clean and tidy with every need catered for. Lots of welcoming goodies on entry to the kitchen. The location of the cottage is well placed for local shops and river walks and also as a base for more adventurous site seeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

BEST HOLIDAY IN A LONG WHILE

  • 5 of 5

Accommodation fantastic, clean, comfortable and peaceful.

The road is lovely and everything you need is close including the Stour Inn which is very friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced. Highly recommended and would love to stay again or even live there.

Jane and Roger the owners are a lovely couple, helpful and the provisions provided were much appreciated.

Perhaps I shouldn't sing its praises too much because we might not be able to book again due to all dates being taken.

Lovely cottage with excellent facilities including fast broadband. Within easy walking distance to Blandford but a very quiet location. We had the use of the garden and summerhouse. Jane and Roger , the owners, very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area.

Dorset Delight

  • 5 of 5

April Cottage was a real find! A great deal of thought had clearly gone into the equipment and sundries provided, the furnishing and fittings and the welcome goodies. In our case the extra items provided for our dog were also much appreciated - we had glorious weather but the dog towel provided was most useful when those we had brought along were soggy! The cottage was sparkling clean, nicely decorated and had good quality appliances and home furnishings.

We used the cottage as a base for visiting various parts of Dorset. It was convenient to be able to walk into Blandford to shops, pubs, etc, to have dog walking potential from the door and took about half an hour to drive to Poole going south and to Shaftesbury going north. We wish we had been able to stay longer as there were so many places to go!

Jane and Roger were extremely welcoming, showing us into the cottage and were helpful and cheerful each time we saw them. I would recommend a stay here to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable break to discover Dorset.
