Cottage in St Ives, Cornwall, England - 3 Bed, 2 Bath. Minutes from the beach, situated in the conservation area of Downalong.

2 Island Square is a Grade II listed 3 storey fisherman’s cottage built around 1850. The cottage has been sympathetically restored throughout to the highest standard, with great attention to detail, and a wealth of original features reinstated to protect its character. It has a light, contemporary interior, with quality furnishings and excellent amenities throughout. The cottage has complimentary WiFi so you can stay in touch with what’s going on in the world. The addition of a log burner, gas central heating, and non-stop hot water, makes it also a perfect retreat for a Winter Break. We welcome well behaved dogs by arrangement, to stay on the ground floor only. Guests are asked to bring beach towels and are reminded that the cottage is non smoking. The ground floor is an open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room.

It has a fully fitted kitchen with Neff oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and washing machine and an abundance of quality cookware and china. There is a folding dining table with seating for 6 and being a family friendly cottage there is also a children’s table and chairs and dining sets provided. The sitting area has 2 leather sofas and a large digital TV and DVD player.

There are 3 tastefully decorated bedrooms and 2 luxurious bathrooms. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms, one with double bed, and the other with full size bunk beds (suitable for adults) and a bathroom with large power shower and toilet. On the top floor there is a further bedroom with double bed, and a bathroom complete with full size bath and toilet. All bedrooms have flat screen digital TVs, luxury bed linen and towels so you will be guaranteed a comfortable stay.

We had a lovely holiday at this great cottage .The beaches, shops ,restaurants and car parking are only a couple of minutes away . The cottage was very well equipped and clean , home from home . Alison the owner answered all our questions and enquires promptly.

Superb location and lovely home

This cottage is superb and has everything you need for an excellent stay in the gorgeous St Ives. We stayed here with 4 adults and our little and enjoyed having the benefit of 2 bathrooms. The location is absolutely perfect being so close to the car park and short walk to the beach and town. We are coming back here next year as we enjoyed it so much.

A beautiful cottage and a stunning place

We stayed here at 2 island square cottage and we were blown away with not only how beautiful the cottage is, but by how beautiful St Ives is. There is so much to see and do. The beaches and views are fantastic with lots of lovely beach cafe's. I can highly recommend the costal walk from St Ives to Carbis Bay. If you fancy a week away in St Ives, Cornwall, look no further. We can highly recommend staying here. The cottage is in a great location and central to the harbour and beaches, all within walking distance. We will definitely be returning. Thanks a million Aly xx

Great Cottage that we keep coming back to!

We have holidayed in this fabulous property for the past 5 years and always look forward to returning. With us visiting St.Ives for many years now we find the location of the cottage ideal for the town and beaches. It is always well presented (fresh flowers on arrival, nice touch) and is very well equipped to ensure you have a carefree and comfortable stay. The provided bed linen is always clean and fresh, which compliments the comfortable beds. We usually stay in October so the excellent central heating system is great for keeping us warm and supplying ample hot water. The good sized shower room and bathroom are clean and well maintained, and with having both means no queues!

Alison is always helpful with any questions about the property and replies to your emails promptly.

Island Square

We have stayed in this beautiful cottage a number of times now. It's very clean,spacious and in a great location for all the local amenities. The cottage sits just a short walk down to the harbour where there are some lovely restaurants and the Sloop Inn which is well worth a visit.

Would recommend an early booking to avoid disappointment!

Holiday Heaven

This cottage is in the best location we have ever stayed in for getting to the beaches,harbour front and restaurants, which made our holiday all the more enjoyable.Everywhere in the cottage was spotlessly clean and all the rooms had everything you could possibly want.We loved the light and bright decor of the rooms and especially the open plan layout of the downstairs living area.We will definitely book again as we can't wait to come back.

As well as the many beaches and art galleries in St Ives, 2 Island Square is the perfect base to explore all of what Cornwall has to offer.

There is the Eden Project, perhaps Cornwall’s most internationally famous attraction, where not only can you see what grows in the biomes but they also have many events going on throughout the year from music gigs to circus extravaganzas, there is something for everyone.

Other places worth visiting include the quaint fishing village of Port Isaac – the location of ITV’s Doc Martin, and Porthcurno – home of the Minack Theatre and a beach with the most turquoise sea you will see in Britain.

Coast/Beach:

Our cottage is less than a 5 minute walk to four of St Ives' spectacular Beaches including Porthmeor Beach, Porthgwidden Beach, Barnaluz (dog friendly) Beach and the Harbour Beach.

Further Details:

Our Cottage is perfectly situated in the heart of St Ives’ conservation area of ‘Downalong’, and is a level walk to all that St Ives offers.

Only minutes from both Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches, the Harbour and the Tate Gallery.

The Island Car park is a short walk away, as is The Sloop Inn one of Cornwall’s oldest and most famous Inns circa 1312.

If you fancy going further afield from St Ives you are perfectly situated to travel all over Cornwall whether it is to walk the coastal paths, have a day out at the fabulous Eden Project or visit some of the best beaches Europe has to offer and spend your days topping up your tan.
