Cottage in St Ives, Cornwall, England - 3 Bed, 2 Bath. Minutes from the beach, situated in the conservation area of Downalong.

2 Island Square is a Grade II listed 3 storey fisherman’s cottage built around 1850. The cottage has been sympathetically restored throughout to the highest standard, with great attention to detail, and a wealth of original features reinstated to protect its character. It has a light, contemporary interior, with quality furnishings and excellent amenities throughout.

The cottage has complimentary WiFi so you can stay in touch with what’s going on in the world. The addition of a log burner, gas central heating, and non-stop hot water, makes it also a perfect retreat for a Winter Break. We welcome well behaved dogs by arrangement, to stay on the ground floor only.

The ground floor is an open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room. It has a fully fitted kitchen with Neff oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and washing machine and an abundance of quality cookware and china. There is a folding dining table with seating for 6 and being a family friendly cottage there is also a children’s table and chairs and dining sets provided. The sitting area has 2 leather sofas and a large digital TV and DVD player.

There are 3 tastefully decorated bedrooms and 2 luxurious bathrooms. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms, one with double bed, and the other with full size bunk beds (suitable for adults) and a bathroom with large power shower and toilet. On the top floor there is a further bedroom with double bed, and a bathroom complete with full size bath and toilet. All bedrooms have flat screen digital TVs, luxury bed linen and towels so you will be guaranteed a comfortable stay.

Guests are asked to bring beach towels and are reminded that the cottage is non smoking.

A hidden treasure in Central St Ives

I stayed in this cottage for a week with 4 other ladies which was very comfortable having a bathroom and shower room was a bonus!!! Plenty of hot water. The cottage was was very clean and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable with quality bedding. The bunk beds were plenty big enough for 2 adults

Plenty of walking paths close by and restaurants almost on your doorstep for the evening meal.

Good customer service from the owner leaving a contact number if needed.

Everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage - fully equipped, comfy beds, decorated to a high standard, and spotlessly clean. The Cottage that is h

The cottage was absolutely delightful light airy immaculate decorative condition very comfortable beds top class bed linen soft fluffy towels

Fully fitted kitchen every conceivable kitchen tool you would need to prepare any meal.

So much thought put into the visitors comfort by the owner even fresh flowers and welcome card

The cottage is within walking distance of the harbour

Definitely a place I would like to stay in again

A beautiful cottage in a lovely location.

The cottage is very well equipped and tastefully furnished. The choice of decor is very nice and the attention to detail is second to none.

The extra touches of flowers, Prosecco, Cornish Shortbread and Bonios for our dog were very thoughtful and leaving some complimentary milk was very welcome after our long journey.

The beds were very comfortable and the cottage was very clean.

The location was great and we enjoyed being close to the wonderful art galleries and gift shops.

As a seasoned cake lover being opposite Olives Cafe was great and I experienced some of the best cake I have ever eaten!

perfect home base for a Cornwall holiday

2 Island Square is perfectly lovely and beautifully decorated. The location is perfect and all of St. Ives is in easy walking distance. A car park is close a convenient. The kitchen downstairs is lovely with all you could need for a holiday. Two bedrooms and an excellent bath are on the second floor and one for bedroom and bath is on the third. Beds were very cozy. Alison is an excellent host and provided great information on the best sites and restaurants. We loved staying at the property and were warmly welcomed.

As well as the many beaches and art galleries in St Ives, 2 Island Square is the perfect base to explore all of what Cornwall has to offer.

There is the Eden Project, perhaps Cornwall’s most internationally famous attraction, where not only can you see what grows in the biomes but they also have many events going on throughout the year from music gigs to circus extravaganzas, there is something for everyone.

Other places worth visiting include the quaint fishing village of Port Isaac – the location of ITV’s Doc Martin, and Porthcurno – home of the Minack Theatre and a beach with the most turquoise sea you will see in Britain.

Coast/Beach:

Our cottage is less than a 5 minute walk to four of St Ives' spectacular Beaches including Porthmeor Beach, Porthgwidden Beach, Barnaluz (dog friendly) Beach and the Harbour Beach.

Further Details:

Our Cottage is perfectly situated in the heart of St Ives’ conservation area of ‘Downalong’, and is a level walk to all that St Ives offers.

Only minutes from both Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches, the Harbour and the Tate Gallery.

The Island Car park is a short walk away, as is The Sloop Inn one of Cornwall’s oldest and most famous Inns circa 1312.

If you fancy going further afield from St Ives you are perfectly situated to travel all over Cornwall whether it is to walk the coastal paths, have a day out at the fabulous Eden Project or visit some of the best beaches Europe has to offer and spend your days topping up your tan.
